"Um... Bye," Brooklyn said quickly and closed the door in Harry's face. She gasped when his foot shot forward and stopped the door from closing.
"I don't get a thank you?" Harry asked as he pushed the door open.
"For what?"
"For the whole evening I spent tutoring you, babe."
"Oh, yeah," Brooklyn said and glanced over her shoulder. "Thanks, surprisingly it helped slightly. Now, goodbye Harry."
"Why are you in such a rush to get rid of me, Brooklyn?" Harry asked.
"Brandon," Brooklyn blurted. "He'd kill me if he saw you here."
"Don't worry about Brandon," Harry scoffed.
"You don't have to live with him," Brooklyn sighed. "Please go, Harry."
"Okay. On one condition."
"What?"
"You let me pick you up tomorrow."
"No," Brooklyn said immediately.
"Then I guess I'm chilling here," Harry shrugged and Brooklyn sighed.
"Fine. Yes, pick me up! Now go. Now!"
"Laters, babe," he smirked and walked off, chuckling lowly under his breath as he did so.
*
Brooklyn cursed when she woke up, sleeping past her alarm clock. She scrambled out of her bed and quickly showered, changing into a pair of ripped jean shorts and a loose flowery crop top. She slipped her black flip flops on and threw her curly hair up into a messy bun, cursing her untameable curls as she did. She then grabbed her school bag and rushed out of her room, not having any time for makeup.
The house was empty as she hurried downstairs and grabbed an apple. Her aunt and uncle were at work and Brandon had to leave early again for school.
Brooklyn was surprised that Brandon didn't realise Harry was at the house last night. She was relieved she wouldn't have to deal with him getting pissy.
Brooklyn glanced at the time and smiled when she saw it was before Harry was due to arrive. She had a feeling he would be annoyed that she walked, but she wanted to distance herself from him.
Brooklyn was slightly out of breath when she exited her house, her morning was very rushed to make sure she would beat Harry. She shut the door behind her and stepped onto the pavement, but she froze when she looked up.
Harry's sleek black car was parked in front of her. The window slowly rolled down and Harry turned to look at her. He had a pair of sunglasses on, so she couldn't see his eyes, but she could tell he wasn't happy.
It was as if he knew she was going to try to sneak out before he arrived.
"Sneaky," he called, his voice cold. "But do you think I'm stupid?"
"For crying out loud," Brooklyn sighed and rubbed her head. She knew there was no point fighting him at this point, she knew no matter what she did she would eventually end up in the car.
Brooklyn couldn't help but flush as she sat in the passengers seat and dumped her bag at her feet, her mind going back to the previous night. She tentatively touched her mouth and frowned.
It wasn't a kiss. It couldn't be classed as a proper kiss. It lasted barely a second. His lips brushed hers. But... It was something. It stirred something within Brooklyn that she hadn't ever felt before.
"Are you listening?" Harry snapped and Brooklyn jumped when Harry suddenly reached across her and yanked her seatbelt down, clipping it into place.
"How did you know?" Brooklyn asked, ignoring Harry's previous question.
"Know that you were going to try and avoid getting a lift from me?" Harry questioned. He turned to looked at Brooklyn and she hated that she couldn't see his eyes. "I'm in your head."
Brooklyn rolled her eyes. "Just drive," she huffed.
Harry looked forward and started the car, speeding off towards school.
Brooklyn spent the majority of the journey thinking about Harry's lips on hers. She couldn't believe she didn't freak out. Before it happened just thinking about a man's touch made her want to have a panic attack, but Harry had kissed her and she didn't even push him away.
He had kissed her even after he had found out about-
Brooklyn sighed in frustration and Harry glanced at her as he parked the car at school.
"Stop trying to fight it," Harry said and he took his sunglasses off so Brooklyn could see his gorgeous green eyes that seemed so bright yet so cold.
"What?"
"You know what I'm talking about, babe," he said.
"No, I don't," Brooklyn said and grabbed her bag. "But I can tell you whatever it is, I'm going to fight it."
"Must you be so difficult," Harry tutted and Brooklyn reached for her seatbelt, but Harry's hand covered hers, trapping Brooklyn in the car.
Brooklyn looked at Harry's hand with wide eyes and her whole body went tense, but then she focused on the sparks that were forming and she let out a breath, her body relaxing slightly. "Harry-"
"I rather enjoyed last night," Harry said.
"Which part?"
"I think you know." Brooklyn swallowed and her breathing quickened when Harry's fingers curled around her hand. "I'd rather enjoy doing it again."
"I'd rather you didn't."
"And why not?"
"Because," Brooklyn said pathetically.
"Do you feel scared?" Harry asked. "No lies. I can tell."
"Not scared," Brooklyn admitted. "Just... Uncomfortable."
"I told you I'd help you," Harry said and raised Brooklyn's hand to his mouth. He gently kissed her knuckles and smirked when she chewed her lip.
Part of her wished he was kissing something else.
"Don't tell anyone," Brooklyn said suddenly. "You can't tell anyone what you found out."
Harry's eyes hardened. "Why the fuck would I do that to you?"
Brooklyn shrugged her shoulders. "To piss me off. Annoy me."
Harry rolled his eyes. "Trust me, I have plenty of other ways to do that. I would never tell anyone what I found out, Brooklyn. Just like I would never push you for details, I know you will tell me when you're ready."
"You always seem so sure," Brooklyn commented.
"I know you, babe," Harry smirked. "Like I said, I'm in your head."
*
"Again?" Sasha demanded, sitting next to Brooklyn in French class. "He drove you again?"
"How does this stuff spread so quickly?" Brooklyn groaned. "I totally planned on walking to school, but he was there. Waiting."
"That's a bit stalkerish," Sasha commented.
"He was also at my house yesterday," Brooklyn said lowly and Sasha's eyes widened.
"Tell me everything!" Sasha demanded.
"Miss Mental wants him to tutor me," Brooklyn explained. "My aunt let him in and he doesn't exactly take no for an answer so he wouldn't leave."
"So you just studied?" Sasha said questioningly as Harry entered the room with Kal. Sasha immediately noticed Brooklyn's blush and Sasha gasped. "What did you do, you little minx!"
"I didn't do anything!" Brooklyn said quickly and avoided Harry's gaze. "He did. I didn't really have a choice."
"Oh, but she loved it," Harry said as him and Kal took a seat in front of the two girls.
"Love what?" Kal questioned.
"The kiss," Harry shrugged.
"You kissed?" Both Sasha and Kal exclaimed, looking between Brooklyn and Harry with wide eyes.
"Shit," Brooklyn hissed and sunk low in her seat when the whole class turned to look at them, immediately whispering and gossiping at the new revelation.
Apparently Harry taking an interest in a girl was unheard of.
"No!" Brooklyn said and she was aware of the whole class listening to them. "He kissed me, I didn't kiss back."
"I didn't exactly give you the chance," Harry shrugged and Brooklyn sighed when the pressure in her head increased. "You would kiss back if you had the opportunity."
"I would not!" Brooklyn gasped.
"Lie," Harry said boredly and Brooklyn narrowed her eyes at him. He was purposely making this worse, adding fuel to the fire that would create many rumours.
"Prove it," Kal smirked and Brooklyn's eyes widened.
"No!"
Harry raised an eyebrow as if he was considering it.
"No!" Brooklyn repeated, her heart starting to race in fear. It wasn't out of fear of being touched, it was out of fear of kissing Harry back.
Sasha gasped when Harry rose and the whole class watched in anticipation. Brooklyn cursed Mrs Mental for being late.
"Harry, don't you dare," Brooklyn said and jumped up, taking a step back as Harry walked up to her.
"Now this is how I piss you off," he smirked and Brooklyn gulped when her back hit a cupboard and Harry stopped in front of her.
"Don't," Brooklyn whispered. "You know I don't like being touched."
Harry paused for a second and the pressure in Brooklyn's head increased. "You do by me," he said lowly and placed his fingers under Brooklyn's chin and forced her to look at him. "You just hate that you do."
Brooklyn was frozen in place. She wasn't sure if she had gone red from embarrassment from the whole class witnessing this, or from anger because of how Harry made her feel and what he was doing.
"You want too, babe," Harry said lowly and Brooklyn gasped when he placed a hand on her waist and pulled her closer to him. Heat spread from his touch and Brooklyn gulped. "Stop fighting it."
"Never."
"I'll win," Harry shrugged.
"No you won't," Brooklyn said weakly, she wasn't confident that she would.
Harry smirked widely and he suddenly crashed his lips to hers. Brooklyn gasped as it felt like fireworks exploded between the two of them. Tingles engulfed her body and she nearly melted at the feeling of Harry's lips against hers. This was so much more than last night.
So much more intense.
Brooklyn tried to fight it, but Harry wasn't going to take no for an answer. He gently but Brooklyn's lip and he snaked his hand round Brooklyn's neck, he was counting down the seconds before she caved.
It didn't take long. Brooklyn kissed Harry back and was shocked at his roughness. His hand that was on the back of her neck was gentle, holding Brooklyn softly, but he was forceful with the kiss. He made sure to be careful, he wasn't going to do anything that caused Brooklyn discomfort.
He knew what she was comfortable doing. He knew that his touch didn't scare her. The sparks prevented that. He knew how far he could push her.
Harry suddenly pulled back and Brooklyn's eyes flew open in shock. Harry's smirk was wide and Brooklyn struggled to form words. She was breathless. She also didn't want Harry to stop.
"What the hell," she whispered, her feelings were confusing her.
"You lose, babe" Harry said lowly and softly kissed Brooklyn again before retreating to his seat, not even glancing back to look at her.
Brooklyn could feel the whole class staring at her and she quickly grabbed her bag, rushing out of the class and blocking out the shocked looks of her classmates.
"No," Brooklyn whispered. "He can't do this to me. He can't make me feel this way. I won't let him. He's an ass. I've just got to stay away from him. I can do that. It's not like he's a stubborn stalker that waits outside of my house or anything." Brooklyn stopped in the middle of the hallway and groaned loudly. "Shit, shit shit! Just hide, you can do that, Brooklyn."
"And who are you planning on hiding from, Brooklyn?"
Brooklyn cried in shock when she saw Greyson leaning against the lockers, smiling amusedly at her. "Stay away from me!" She blurted and took a few steps back.
"It won't work," Greyson said and took his phone out, texting on it as he spoke to Brooklyn. "Harry is an angry person, you don't want to hide from him. You'll anger him."
"W-what? H-how-"
"I'm giving you a tip, Brooklyn. It'd be wise to listen to me." Greyson didn't even look up from his phone as he spoke. He almost sounded bored.
"I don't want to listen to you, or Harry, or anyone!" Brooklyn exclaimed. "Just stay away from him."
"The closer you get to him the worse he will get," Greyson shrugged. "Make it easy on yourself, just accept it. Give in."
"No," Brooklyn muttered. "I'll fight it. I'll fight him."
*Game on, babe,* Harry's said, but in Brooklyn's panicked state, she didn't realize that Harry wasn't even there. He was still in the classroom.
Yet his voice was loud and clear in her head.
