Daisy

Chapter 64

Ch. 64 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

"Why should I? He was the one who wouldn't stop touching me!" I snapped.

"Daisy-" I heard Blake approaching me and as soon as his hand grabbed my shoulder I threw my elbow back into his face and jumped back, letting Kent fall to the floor like a dead weight.

"Why do people keep touching me!" I growled. "Get the fuck away from me and keep your hands to yourself, Blake!"

"Calm down, Dais," Blake said slowly and held his hands up.

"No, I'm sick of you playing the guy in charge and telling me what to do, I'm sick of Kent being a complete ass and using me getting nearly killed against me and I'm just sick of it!" I yelled and shoved Blake angrily when he took a step towards me. "Fuck off!"

"You're going to cause a scene, Daisy, go inside and calm down," Blake said calmly.

"I don't give a shit, people can think what they want," I growled and it was then I noticed Jasper leaning against his front door, watching us curiously.

"Inside," Blake ordered. "Daisy!"

"Blake, man, give her a break," Mason called.

"No, she can't just go around attacking Kent, no matter how much he deserves it!" Blake snapped.

"Oh, but he can get away with doing what he wants with me!" I yelled. "Fucking typical!"

"Daisy, get the fuck inside now!" Blake growled.

"Princess, lets go," Eli said and I jumped when he grabbed my arm.

"Eli, not now-"

"Yes now," he said sternly and pulled me towards the house.

"Eli, I said no!" I snapped and yanked my arm from his grip.

"I'm trying to help," Eli muttered and I gasped when suddenly I was pinned up against the house. Eli was very close to me. "Calm down. Take deep breaths and forget about everyone else."

"I want to murder somebody," I hissed and tried to push Eli away from me but he wasn't budging.

"You always want to murder somebody," Eli said. "Surely that's not healthy, princess."

I narrowed my eyes at him and he smirked slightly.

"Everyone go to school!" Eli called. "Blake, I've got this."

"You always seem to be the one who ends up dealing with me," I said quietly.

"You trust me," Eli said simply and shrugged his shoulders.

"Who would've thought that a months ago?" I said and I watched as Blake helped Kent up off the floor. Kent stuck his middle finger up and he and I lurched forward, but Eli slammed me back against the house and pinned my arms above my head.

"Look at me," Eli ordered. "Stop looking at him."

I narrowed my eyes at Kent and Eli grabbed my chin and turned my head to face him.

"You need to stop attacking Kent," Eli said lowly, but he tone was light. "Leave some space for others to get a shot in."

I rolled my eyes

"What did he do, princess?"

"He was just talking shit. I walked away to try and not loose my shit and then he came up behind me and grabbed me," I said through gritted teeth. "I told him to get off, and when he didn't I made him."

"Sorry," Eli muttered and reached up and tucked a piece of stray hair behind my ear.

I sighed. "It's done, its over. Let's go to school."

"Let's not," Eli said and I looked up into his eyes.

"This sounds interesting, carry on," I said.

"Let's just go somewhere, I can't be fucked for school and I know you don't want to go either," Eli said and looked over his shoulder. Everyone had left.

I nodded.

Eli smirked and grabbed my hand, pulling me over to his car. I caught eyes with Jasper as he got onto his motorbike and I couldn't help but wonder if he was listening to every word that was just said.

"Buckle up, princess," Eli said. "Let's go."

It was a sunny, warm day. We ended up in a park. I was lying on the grass next to Eli, just enjoying the peace.

There was no drama, no pressure, nothing.

"Daisy, can I tell you something?" Eli said suddenly.

I opened my eyes and rolled over onto my side, looking at him curiously. "What?"

"You wanted to know about me," he said.

"Your secrets," I said.

"We can talk freely," Eli said and he raised his hand and held out a small black box. "When the button is pressed it sends out a signal and it will block the bug in your tooth. We don't have long before they will get suspicious."

"When did you get this!" I gasped.

"It's a prototype, Jack made it."

"Of course," I muttered. "Anyway, what were you saying?"

"When I was 8, people broke into our house. My parents and I were getting ready to move to America, but we never made it. My parents were killed," Eli said. "I saw it."

"Oh... I'm so sorry," I whispered and looked into Eli's eyes, they were distant.

"I tried to help. My mum told me to hide, but I couldn't bring myself to move. The men who broke in had guns, my parents defended themselves well, but they knew what was going to happen. A gun was knocked to the floor. I grabbed it and the next thing you know one of the attackers was lying on the floor. But so was my mum."

"Eli," I gasped.

"I'd shot her," he said lowly. "It just happened, I didn't mean to, I just-" Eli sighed. "And then she was shot again and again and so was my dad, by the attackers. They were ruthless. They defiled them. And then they were gone. My parents and the attackers."

"What happened then?"

"I was put into care. And then I was hired by the Agency."

"I'm so sorry, Eli."

"It's not you fault, princess. Now you know why I had counselling with James. I'm a little fucked up as well. It's why I want to get out of this place."

"The Agency?"

Eli nodded.

"But you're one of the best. Why would you of all people want to leave."

"Let's just say I have my suspicions about who murdered my parents," Eli muttered and ran his fingers through his hair.

"The Agency?" I said in shock.

Eli nodded stiffly. "Possibly."

"But how? Why?" I frowned.

"That's what I've been trying to find out. And I'm not leaving the Agency until I know."

"Eli, you can't leave, we both know that," I said softly. "You should learn from my damn mistakes."

"That's where we're different. I'm trusted, Daisy," Eli shrugged. "That makes all the difference. There's a way."

"Eli-"

"Until I have my answers I'll do my part. Continue with the mission and keep an eye on you, keep you from killing people when you get angry."

"When you have your answers?" I asked cautiously.

"There's always a place for you when I go, princess."

I caught Eli's eye. "This is very unexpected."

"Yes or no? Will you come or not?"

"Do you even have to ask?"
