"I wish I knew something," I said seriously. "Rob's a dick, always has been. He only cares about himself. He didn't even care that I was miserable at the Agency. As long as I wasn't dead he was happy."
Richard reached into his pocket and pulled out a picture of me and placed it in front of me. "Some of your features are unique, Daisy. Your hair... it's rare." Richard placed another picture next to mine. "Just like hers.
"This is your wife," I said, looking at the picture of the women I had seen pictures of before. I looked between the two photos and frowned. "Why are you showing me this?"
"Daisy, you're a very bright girl. I'm surprised you haven't guessed," Richard said and slid another photo across the table. "She was 18 in this photo."
"No," I said immediately and looked at the picture of Jasper's mother with wide eyes. "That's ridiculous. God, I can't believe I was starting to think that you were the good guys! That's sick! Why would you try and convince me of that! It's bullshit! All you want is to take down Rob and you'll tell any old lie to help you out!"
"This isn't a lie, Daisy," Richard said, taken aback by my outburst.
"No, it's impossible!" I snapped.
"Actually, it's quite the opposite," Jasper said and I looked at the pictures again.
There was a reason I thought the woman looked familiar.
"She looks just like me," I whispered.
"What did Rob tell you?" Richard asked.
"He said I was adopted. He said he saved me from a bad situation. I was so young... I can't remember my life before Rob," I said slowly and swallowed. "This can't be true."
"We took your blood," Richard said. "We told you we had found your parents."
My heart was now racing. "This isn't happening."
"Daisy, we're your family."
"Shut up," I snapped. "Shut up, shut up, shut up!"
"Daisy-"
"Shut the hell up!" I yelled and pulled at the restraints. "God, just let me go! I can't deal with this! This is insane. Fucking untie me! I swear to God-"
"DAISY!" Jasper shouted and stood up, slamming his hands on the table and surprising me into silence. "Stop freaking out and take a minute to actually take this in! This is a shitload of information to accept and you're not helping yourself by freaking the hell out!"
"Daisy, I'm going to untie you," Richard said softly and I flinched when he touched my hands and cut through the cuffs with a knife. "Please stay calm and don't do anything stu-"
I bolted up from my seat and scrambled towards the door. I didn't know what to do. My mind was racing and the only thing I wanted to do was to get as far away as possible.
"Jasper!" I screamed and groaned when he grabbed me and shoved me up against the wall. "Get the fuck off me you little shit!"
"Please, try and relax," Jasper pleaded and pinned my arms above my head.
"I don't want this," I cried and struggled against his rock hard grip. "God, why is my life so fucked up!"
"Just take deep breaths," Jasper said calmly. "Relax. Daisy, you're safe. Nothing bad is going to happen to you. You're safe here."
"I-" I went limp in Jasper's hold and before I could stop them tears started to stream down my face. "I don't know what to do," I whispered and Jasper loosened his hold onto me and pulled me into a hug.
"It's okay," he said and I bawled into his chest. "It's okay, you're safe now."
The sun flickering through a window woke me up and I groaned and rubbed my eyes. I looked around and sighed when I realised I was in the medical room I had woken up in when I first had been at this Agency.
"Hey."
I jumped when Jasper stood up from the chair he was sitting in and smiled softly. "I'm sorry, we knocked you unconscious," he said. "You were starting to go into shock and it was the only way to calm you down."
"So it wasn't a dream?" I whispered and rubbed my eyes.
"No."
"Fuck," I groaned. "Jasper, what happened to the others?"
"We're going to try and convince them to join us. We need to expose Rob and with your help we can bring him down."
"Rob's good," I said. "Really good. He's kept me a secret for this long. You won't be able to defeat him."
"You underestimate us, Daisy," Jasper chuckled. "How are you feeling?"
"Shit," I sighed and sat up in the bed. "I need to see Eli."
"He's currently busy," Jasper said. "My- our dad is talking to him."
"God, don't say that," I said. "I didn't even call Rob dad and he raised me."
"He doesn't sound like he was much of a dad," Jasper said.
"He cared, he did," I said, "but it was all about him. What he wanted. I didn't get a choice in my own life."
"Sounds shit."
"And you asked why I wanted to get out," I sighed. "I'm fed up of being controlled."
"Daisy, you haven't got to worry about that anymore," Jasper said. "I promise you'll be able to do what you want. As soon as all of this is sorted."
"I don't want this to be sorted, I want to leave."
"Do you even care that you've found your family? Your real family?" Jasper snapped. "We've searched all this fucking time for you and all you can think about is leaving!""To be honest, I've not really processed the whole family thing," I said, a sharp tone to my voice. "And I don't want too."
"You're my sister! Why not!" Jasper demanded. "I'm your brother, Daisy!"
"I can't get any feelings about this!" I argued. "It's one more thing that will keep me here! In this life!"
"We're not like the other Agency!" Jasper yelled. "We're not going to force you to kill! We're going to let you live your life! We just want your life to include us!"
"You don't want me in your life," I scoffed. "I'm more fucked up than you could imagine."
"That's exactly why we want you," Jasper said. "We want to help. Give you the life you deserve."
"I'm a killer, I don't deserve much," I scoffed.
"That's not true," Jasper said.
"It is. The people I've assassinated could've been innocent."
"Don't think like that. It wasn't your fault. There was nothing you could've done."
"I could've stayed hidden when I first ran away," I muttered and raised my arm and saw a tube connected to it. "What's this?"
"A drip, to keep you hydrated-"
I ripped the needle out of my arm and threw the tube on the ground.
"Don't do that-"
"I want to leave," I said and stood up.
"You can't."
"You just said that you'd let me do what I want."
"When all of this is over."
"This shit is your problem, not mine," I snapped.
"Daisy, everything that is going on is your problem. You are stuck in the middle."
"I promise you if you let me leave you will never see me again and won't have to deal with me," I said.
Jasper narrowed his eyes. "We want to deal with you."
"God, do you not give up?" I scowled. "It's pretty clear I don't want to know you!"
"Give us a chance," Jasper snapped. "For once stop running away."
I paused and glared at Jasper.
"If you give us a chance you won't want to run," Jasper said and I looked past him and towards the door. "Don't be stupid. You won't get out of here. It'll be pointless trying. You know that."
I sighed and fell back onto the bed. I ran my fingers through my hair and chewed on my lip. "What are you going to do?" I asked quietly.
"Take down Rob."
"How?" I muttered and rubbed my eyes.
"With your help. With everyone's help. The only way to take him is through brute force. Manpower."
I laughed. "So your plan is to storm the Agency?"
Jasper nodded seriously. "Yes."
I scoffed. "You've got a death wish."
"You think your Agency is good. You think Rob is good-"
"He is."
"I can guarantee we're better."
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm being serious, Daisy."
"If you're so good then why haven't you defeated Rob already?" I said.
"It's not that simple. And right now we have the element of surprise. Rob thinks he has the upper hand. If we can convince all of you to help us we'll be able to take Rob down. If we have you we'll be able to take Rob down."
"So you want to use me?"
"Do you want Rob to continue killing?" Jasper asked sharply. "He's a murderer. A kidnapper. He took you from your family, Daisy. Are you telling me you don't want him punished?"
"I've tried not to think about what Rob did to me," I admitted.
"Bloody think about it! You were a little girl and he kidnapped you! He made your real family believe you were dead! He's a monster!"
"He's my dad," I said lowly.
"He's not your dad," Jasper growled.
"He was a shit dad but he was my dad," I snapped. "I was raised by him. He raised me knowing I wasn't his child. Knowing I was kidnapped..." I covered my face with my hands. "That's fucking sick."
"Daisy, we need you," Jasper said.
I looked up at Jasper. "I want to see Eli."
"He's busy."
"I don't care. I want to speak to him."
Jasper gritted his teeth but nodded and stood. "I can tell you now that he's not in the best of moods."
"When are either of us," I muttered and followed Jasper out of the room.
