A week had passed and I had spent the majority of the time in my room.
"I'm ill!" I yelled to Jack who tried to get me to enter civilisation. He was on the other side of my door since I had once thrown a shoe at him after he had attempted something similar to this before. "I've got what Dante had!"
"Dante was faking it!"
"Saying I'm ill is a nicer way of saying fuck off to you!" I shouted. "But just to make things super clear- fuck off!"
"You're a bitch!"
"If I agree with you will you fuck off?"
"I tried!" Jack shouted and I heard his footsteps fade away.
I hadn't been in the mood for people.
Yet lots of people had been trying to get me to leave my bed.
"I like my bed," I told Beth. "It can't try and kidnap you. It can't arrange for people to nearly kill you. Beds are fucking great."
"And you're going fucking insane," was her response.
I simply shrugged.
Beth failed, Jack failed, Mason failed, Carter failed and so did Tom. Hampson had walked in, taken once look at my stony facial expression and walked straight back out.
Eli hadn't come to see me.
I wasn't sure how I felt about that.
"Get the fuck up!"
I jumped when my door flew open and Eli strode in.
"Up you get, princess!"
"Fuck you," I said. "It's been a week and all you've got to say is get the fuck up?"
"Please?"
"Fuck off!"
I yelled when Eli pulled me from my bed and hauled me over his shoulder.
"Is this how you treat all the girls you kiss after a week of not seeing them!" I shouted and hit his back.
"Only the ones I like," Eli said and carried me out of my room and down the hall to the bathroom. "Shower, freshen up and don't you dare go back to your room."
"So you expect me to walk around naked?" I said and raised an eyebrow when Eli lowered me to the ground.
"I expect you to get into the shower and I'll leave you some clothes," Eli said.
"But-"
"Now."
"Hey-"
"You've spent a week locked away. I've had enough of it now."
"You don't get to tell me what to do," I snapped. "Just because you kissed doesn't mean you can fucking boss me about!"
"It doesn't?" Eli said and I stared at him with shock when he quickly pecked my lips. "Shame." The door was then shut in my face and I gasped.
"You little shithead!" I yelled, but instead of reopening the door and walking out I sighed and turned round, stripping out of my clothes and turning the shower on.
My mind wondered when I was standing under the hot water. So much had happened yet the only thing I couldn't stop thinking about was Eli's lips.
On mine.
I tentatively touched my lips and frowned. Eli had kissed me. Eli. I kissed him back.
"Fuck and I'd do it again," I grumbled and finished washing myself.
I hadn't heard Eli come in but he must've as a pile of clothing was waiting for me as I got out of the shower. I changed into the jeans and tshirt, brushed my hair and teeth and then opened the bathroom door.
Eli was waiting.
"Does this meet your expectations?" I asked sarcastically.
Eli's eyes followed me up and down. "Yes."
"Shame," I muttered and crossed my arms over my chest. "I was perfectly happy with staying in my room, Eli."
"We're trying to not get caught and you skipping school for a week is one way of getting unwanted attention from Adam," Eli said. "I know you've got a lot on your mind, but we've got to be able to pull this off. With your help."
"Whatever," I sighed and walked past Eli. "It's not like I'm going to pick up the phone and call Rob and be like 'surprise! Your kidnapped daughter/niece wants to kill you, you sick murdering kidnapping bastard.' We won't get caught."
"We might if you act like this," Eli said and caught my wrist. "Don't make all this pain you've gone through for nothing, princess."
I sighed and looked at Eli. "Fine. What do you want me to do?"
"Get in my car and let me take you to school."
"I'm not really feeling that-" I gasped when Eli pulled me towards him and placed his hands on my hips. His lips were inches away from my face, well my nose considering the height difference.
"You haven't got to do any fucking work. Just be there."
I smirked. "You know me too well."
Eli arched an eyebrow. "I'll even lend you a pen."
"You've sold it," I said dramatically and brushed past Eli. "Let's go!"
Eli chuckled and walked behind me as we made our way downstairs. Everyone was getting ready to leave for school.
"What the fuck is he still doing here?" I called, pointing to Dante when I spotted him.
"Chill, we're on the same side now," Dante said.
"One, do you think that means I'm going to stop disliking you? And two, that still didn't answer my fucking question, you lying rat."
"Remember, we're pretending everything's normal," Eli said into my ear. "He has to stay here."
"I mean, everyone's so kind and welcoming still," Dante said sarcastically.
"Don't make me make you wish you were as ill as you were pretending to be," I warned. "I will hurt you. A lot."
"That's the Daisy we know and love!" Mason called as he walked to the door.
"I just love hearing threats this early in the morning," Jack said sarcastically and followed Mason outside.
"Come on, girl," Beth said and threw her arm over my shoulder. "It's good to have you back."
I sighed. "I wish I could say the same."
"Something's happened," Beth said during our first class. "You and Eli, something's happened."
"Nothing's happened."
"Something totally has. You two are acting different."
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"Yes you do."
"No, I don't."
"Fine, I'll just ask Tom," Beth shrugged. "Since my best friend won't tell me maybe Eli would've told his."
"Fine, we kissed," I muttered.
"You what!" Beth gasped and bit her lip to contain a squeal. "I knew it! Did you do anything else? Just kiss?"
"We made out a little," I said dismissively.
"And?" Beth pushed.
"We didn't fuck," I told her and lowered my voice. "That's about the only thing we didn't do."
"I think I may die of shock," Beth whispered. "You and Eli. Who would've guessed?"
"Definitely not me," I muttered.
Beth turned to me with a big grin. "Remember when you tried to stab him because he stole your sandwich?"
"Remember when I did shoot you," I said sweetly. "We were friends then. I'll do it again."
"Jheeze, calm yourself I was joking," Beth huffed.
"I wasn't."
"You're such a bitch," Beth said and rolled her eyes.
"Have you heard from Blake?" I asked quietly.
Beth stiffened and shook her head.
I nodded and then looked to the teacher. We were silent for the rest of the lesson.
In my next class I had a dilemma. I'd had the same dilemma before and somehow Kent ended up getting punched.
I narrowed my eyes as I looked at the two empty seats. One was next to Kent and the other was next to Jasper.
"Why didn't I stay in my room," I whispered and walked down the classroom and sat down next to Jasper who was with Kyle.
"Daisy-"
