Chapter 84

Ch. 84 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

I groaned as Blake picked me up as slammed my back into the table. Pain exploded down my spine, but I managed to move to the side so his punch went onto the table instead of my face.

He swore loudly and I kicked my feet up, aiming for his stomach and pushing him away from me. I jumped up from the table and sent a sharp kick to his knee cap. His leg buckled and I dug my knee into his back, shoving him onto his knees. I wrapped my arms around his neck, holding him in place. I tightened my hold.

“Such a bitch,” Blake grunted and he scratched at my arms.

“Thanks,” I snapped and I gasped when Blake forced himself into a stand and threw me over his shoulder. My already painful back smashed onto the ground and I rolled over, pushing myself up. Blake was quicker, however, and he brought his foot down on my side, throwing me back to the ground.

“Ow,” I groaned.

“Sorry, did that hurt?” Blake wondered and I narrowed my eyes at him. I quickly scrambled up and ran at him, I fell to the ground at the last moment and swiped his legs away with my feet. I was up in seconds and I grabbed his wrist, twisting it up behind his back as I pinned him to the ground.

“Give up,” I gasped, “or I’ll break it.”

“No, you won’t,” Blake scoffed. He winced when I pulled his arm tighter.

“Try me,” I growled and just as I was about to pull Blake’s arm at a horrifically unnatural angle, he reached around with his free hand and grabbed a fistful of my hair. I gasped when he yanked me to the side and shoved me off of him. I rolled to the ground, but landed in a crouch, watching as Blake shook his arm.

“You were really going to do it,” Blake said.

“Why would I lie?” I asked and he ran to me. I deflected his punch and kneed his side. He stumbled and I sent a quick jab to his neck. He coughed and took a few steps back, holding his neck. I smirked and punched him again. Blood trickled down his face.

“Don’t get too cocky, Daisy,” he grunted and I winced when he grabbed my fist, stopping my next punch. He raised his eyebrows at me and I swore when he stopped my other punch, holding both my fists tightly.

“Fuck,” I groaned when he brought his knee up, hitting me painfully in the stomach. I moaned and doubled over. Blake brought his elbow down onto my back and then grabbed my hair, smashing my face into his knee. He shoved me back and I fell into the table as blood ran freely down my face. My ears were ringing and I blinked rapidly to try and clear my blurred vision.

“You’re looking a little disoriented,” Blake called and I was dazed when he grabbed me and shoved me up against the wall. His arm went across my neck and I gasped as my airways were cut off. I grabbed at his arms, but his grip was too strong. Blindly I felt around for his face and I dug my fingers into his eyes.

“Fucking hell!” Blake yelled and released me. I gasped and fell to the floor, coughing and scrambling for a breath. I didn’t waste a moment and I pulled myself up. My ears were still ringing, and I thought I could hear Eli and Jasper trying to kick down the door, but I wasn’t sure.

Blake was rubbing his eyes and I ran at him, sending a two-footed kick to his stomach. I caught myself before I fell to the ground and directed my elbow right to his temple. Now he was the one who was dazed. I leaned back onto my left foot and raised my right leg, preparing for a powerful kick that would send Blake crashing into the wall. Blake groaned as I aimed my kick, but the bastard stumbled back at the last moment and my foot went flying past his face. Blake somehow managed to grab my ankle and he yanked my leg, throwing me face first into the wall.

I fell to the ground and yelled out when Blake grabbed my ankle and pulled me across the floor. I turned around as he was pulling me and dug the heel of my free foot into his wrist. He released me and I scrambled up. I spotted the table behind me and I jumped up into it. I took a deep breath and threw myself forward, catching hold of the light that was hanging in the middle of the ceiling. I prayed that it would hold my weight as I wrapped my legs around Blake’s neck. I let go of the light and threw my body to the side, taking Blake to the floor with me. I grabbed his wrist and twisted his hand painfully and I slammed a leg across his throat, trapping him to the ground and cutting off his breathing.

Blake struggled in my hold and I grunted, trying to keep him down long enough to knock him unconscious from the lack of oxygen. Blake struggled like mad, and I could feel my grip getting weaker. I swore under my breath and tightened my hold on Blake’s wrist. A few seconds later there was a crunch and Blake yelled out in pain. I glanced at his wrist that now had a bone sticking out at an odd angle.

“Stay down,” I grunted, but the odds weren’t in my favour. I gasped in surprise when there was a ridiculously loud bang on the door and Blake took my seconds distraction to free himself from my hold. I raced to my feet.

“You broke my wrist!” Blake growled and a backhand to the face sent me spinning around.

“You’ve had worse, you baby,” I snapped.

“I’ll show you worse,” Blake said and he jumped up, grabbing the light that was hanging from the ceiling and pulling it from its socket. The room was sent into slight darkness, but we could both see perfectly well. Or so I thought because I didn’t see Blake swinging the light towards my face before it was too late. I felt the light bulb, that was boiling hot, shatter against my face. A second later Blake had the cord wrapped around my throat.

“Give in,” Blake ordered and I gasped when he pulled tighter, the cord digging painfully into my skin. I struggled to get a breath in. “Admit defeat.”

“Never,” I croaked and I used all of my strength and pushed Blake back to the wall. I launched myself backward, making him hit into the wall and I threw my head back continuously, wincing when I felt my skull hit his teeth. I reached up and pried my fingers under the cord, pulling it away from my neck. Blake’s grip had loosened just enough to allow me to take control. I pulled the cord free from his grasp and allowed myself to get a much-needed breath. I dropped the cord to the floor just as Blake wrapped his arms around my stomach.

“Get off me!” I yelled, my voice scratchy from the suffocation. I kicked out wildly as Blake lifted me off the ground. I whimpered when I was dropped. My hands went to the floor first, landing in shattered glass from the smashed light bulb.

“You’re putting up one hell of a fight, Dais,” Blake said. I looked up at him, realising he looked like hell.

I didn’t even want to think about what I looked like.

“I’m impressed. You had me worried for a while there,” Blake said and I stumbled as I pulled myself up. I was pretty sure we both looked like we were going to collapse at any moment.

“I always hated your arrogance,” I growled and glanced around, looking for anything that would help me. Blake followed my eyes, watching for my next move. I spotted the chair that was wedged under the door handle and ran for it.

Speed was the one thing that I always beat Blake in. I was a hell of a lot faster than him. I grabbed the chair and pulled it free of the door, spinning around as I did and sending it flying towards Blake. I heard the door open instantly, but I didn’t pay attention to the people that entered the room. Blake swore as I lifted the chair up again, bringing it down onto his back. The chair broke into pieces and I grabbed Blake by his hair and hauled him over to the two-way mirror that was on one of the walls.

“I win,” I whispered and while he was disorientated and I smashed his face into the mirror. There was a satisfying crack and broken pieces of the mirror fell as I dropped Blake to the floor.

“This was for my brother,” Blake said quietly, and one last kick knocked him unconscious.

I let out a long breath and stumbled backward. I would have fallen if it weren’t for strong arms wrapping around me and holding me up. “You’re bloody insane,” Eli said into my ear and I slumped back into him.

“I...” My brain was all over the place and I struggled to form words. “I... going...”

“Let’s get her up.” I heard Jasper’s voice and I felt his presence next to me. “We need to get her to medical.”

“C’mon, princess,” Eli said and tried pulling me so I was standing.

“No,” I winced and pushed away from him, stumbling almost instantly. “I’m going-”

“Hey,” Jasper said and caught me. “Let us help me.”

“Sick,” I blurted and shoved him away from me. I reached for the table for support. “I’m going to be sick.” I doubled over and felt my insides turn before I dry heaved and was sick all over the floor. “Jesus,” I grumbled and wiped my mouth with the back of my hand.

“Kyle,” Jasper called and my blurred vision could make out Kyle walking into the room.

“Fucking hell, I was watching that on the security camera,” he said. He almost sounded impressed. “These two are brutal.”

“Best of the best,” I said weakly and reached out to Eli, letting him hold me up.

“Deal with him,” Jasper said bitterly, looking at Blake who was knocked out on the floor. “I’ll be in medical with Daisy.”

“I’ll let Richard know,” Kyle nodded.

“Do you need me to carry you?” Eli asked.

“I’m not a cripple,” I muttered. “I can manage.”

“You don’t look like you can, princess,” Eli said honestly and Jasper walked up to us, wrapping an arm around me as well. The two of them helped me out of the room.

“Is it true? That you’d never beaten him?” Jasper asked as we walked to medical.

I didn’t say anything.

“He trained her. He knows her too well. Today is the first time she’s ever beaten him in a fight,” Eli said for me.

“You’re insane, Daisy,” Jasper said. “Look at you, I’m surprised you’re not in a worse state!”

“I’ve been worse. I’m fine. I just need to rest,” I said. “My head is killing me. God, everything’s killing me.”

“I wonder why that is?” Eli muttered. “You could’ve blown the whole mission, Daisy.”

“I knew what I was doing,” I mumbled.

“No, Blake got you annoyed and you acted without thinking,” Eli scolded.

“Shut up, I’ve got two dads I don’t need another one,” I groaned.

“He’s right, you acted recklessly,” Jasper spoke.

“Fuck off, you know that’s just me,” I sighed. “Hit a girl why she’s down, why don’t you.”

Eli rolled his eyes and Jasper frowned. “I’m sorry he didn’t choose our side.”

“I knew what his answer would be,” I said. “Just as I knew what Adam’s will be. They both owe too much to Rob.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Is the room spinning or is it me?” I asked suddenly.

“It’s you, princess,” Eli sighed and I gasped when he easily lifted me into his arms.

“What are you...” I groaned. “Shit, I think I’m going to faint.”

“I mean this in the nicest way possible,” Eli said and looked down at me. “Please do.”

Everything hurt when I woke up. I groaned and sat up in the bed I was in. I looked around and realised I was in medical. “Fuck,” I grumbled and stumbled out of the bed and made my way over to the mirror on the wall.

I cringed when I saw my reflections. Stitches ran across my bruised cheek and the rest of my face was a mixture of purple and blue. “God,” I sighed.

“Hey.” Eli walked in and I looked at him in the reflection of the mirror. “I honestly don’t know who looks worse, you or Blake.”

“I hope he does,” I muttered and made my way back over to the bed. I felt as if I was out of breath already. “How long have I been out?”

“A few hours,” Eli said and sat down next to me.

I nodded.

“I’m pissed at you, by the way,” Eli said.

I rolled my eyes. “Shocker. Yes, I know, I could've blown the whole mission-”

“You could’ve seriously hurt yourself,” Eli snapped. “You know Blake’s not one to hold back. He smashed a light bulb into your face. He could’ve done a lot worse.”

“But he didn’t, and I’m fine.”

Eli’s hand went to my knee. I looked up at him. “Are you?” He asked quietly.

“Ask me that when this is all over,” I said. “Right now, I just want to sleep.”

“Then sleep,” Eli sighed and I felt warm when he wrapped his arm around me. I felt safe. I leaned against his shoulder and closed my eyes. “Princess, what did Blake say to you before he fell unconscious.”

“I thought I was going to sleep,” I grumbled.
