Daisy

Chapter 57

Ch. 57 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

I rubbed the top of my thigh where I had another scar.

"Daisy, put the knife down now," the man snapped.

"Why? It's not like I'm going to get the chance to kill either of you," I shrugged and glanced at Jasper who was standing by the door. I smirked and lifted my arm, throwing the knife forward. It landed one inch safely above Jasper's head and he looked at me with murderous eyes.

"What the hell are you playing at?" He yelled.

"Relax, I didn't aim for you," I shrugged. "Besides, I now no longer have the knife."

"You don't know what you're doing, you could have taken my head off!" Jasper snapped.

"And I'm now wishing I did," I said and the man held his hand up.

"Now is not the time for bickering. Daisy, how did you find Michael Moore?" The man asked.

I stiffened at the name and the man and Jasper both noticed. "My friend hacked into a security camera where it happened. It took a while but he managed to track him down. He's a whizz with computers and shit," I lied.

"Where is your friend now?"

"In prison," I said. "He got caught hacking into somewhere private. I don't really know the details."

"So you found his location, somehow disabled the security cameras and killed him?"

"A bullet through the head and a bullet through the heart," I nodded.

"How did you disable the cameras?"

"Now that would be telling," I shrugged.

"Answer the fucking question," Jasper snapped.

"I looked it up online, jheeze," I muttered.

"What happened to the body?" The man asked.

"What do you mean?"

"It's gone."

My eyes widened in surprise. "What?"

The man seemed to fall for it. "It was gone when we searched the house. The house was scrubbed clean, or nearly. We could easily figure out what happened. That silver hair... it's quite hard to miss when forensics are searching the place."

"I... I don't understand," I frowned. "How could the body be gone!" I faked horror. "Is he still alive?"

"No," the man said immediately. "One thing is certain: you killed him."

"So then where's the body?"

"That's what we're hoping you'd tell us."

I faked cluelessness. "I have no idea. I shot him and ran."

The man nodded. "Okay."

"Can I go now? I've answered your questions," I said.

"Oh, no, you're not going anywhere just yet," the man said and shook his head.

I narrowed my eyes at him. "You can't keep me here."

"Yes I can. I still have some more questions."

I crossed my arms over my chest, growing irritated. "Well I'm getting a bit fed up of questions," I said. "What else can you possibly want to know!"

"About that tracker that we disabled."

My mouth dropped. "What?"

They had disabled it. Rob was a lying bastard, saying that it was impossible.

The man assumed my shock was about the tracker, not that I was shocked he had disabled it.

"The scanners detected, and the injection we gave you disabled it," the man said. "It's very high tech, nearly untraceable, do you have any idea why you have one in you?"

"Do I look like I have a fucking clue?" I snapped. "I just want to go home! My friends are probably freaking out. Blake is going to kill me," I groaned.

"Blake?" The man asked, looking at Jasper.

"He worked in the group home she was at previously. He's a kind of social worker/psychologist. He's supposed to talk through all of their 'problems' and shit with them," Jasper said.

"You've done your research," I said.

"The group home, the previous house you lived in... You burnt it down," the man said.

"I could lie and say it was an accident... it wasn't," I said, sticking to my cover.

"Why?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"You were released from prison yesterday, yes?"

"How do you know all of this?" I demanded.

"I know a lot of things. I know you've had a rough upbringing. It's probably why you are the way you are."

"And what's that?"

"A bitch?" Jasper suggested.

"You're one to talk," I snapped.

"Troubled," the man said finally.

"What are you going to do with me?" I asked. "You can't keep me here. People know I'm missing. The police will be informed."

"Everyone will think you've run away. You've run from foster homes before," the man shrugged.

I laughed. "No one will believe that. The police may, but not the people I live with. Blake won't rest until he knows where I am."

"You seem rather confident of that."

"I am," I shrugged. "So, I'll ask again, what are you going to do with me?"

"Well, originally I was going to have you sent to prison," the man said. "But things have come up. Plans change."

My hope dropped. In prison Rob could easily get me out. In the heart of his enemies Agency... That was a little tricky.

"So what are you going to do?"

"For now, nothing," the man said and stood. "See you in the morning, Daisy."

"Hey!" I yelled and rushed forward, but him and Jasper left the room and shut the door in my face. "You can't leave me in here!" I kicked the door angrily. "Assholes!" I shouted and punched the door. I swore when it split the skin on my knuckles open and sighed in frustration.

I ran my fingers through my hair and slumped to the ground.

What the hell was I going to do?

I had tried to stay awake, but sleep caught up with me and I was jolted awake when the door flew open and Jasper walked in.

"Is it time for more questions?" I asked sarcastically.

He looked at my bloody hand that was throbbing. "What did you do?"

"I punched the door. Nothing happened. So later I punched it again, and again, and again," I shrugged. "It's okay, I can still do this with it." I stuck my middle finger at him and he narrowed his eyes at me.

"Get up," he said and grabbed my arm. He handcuffed my arms behind my back and then pushed me out of the room. We didn't go far, only down the hall and into a white room with hospital beds and medical equipment. It stank of antiseptic and bleach.

"Is this her?" A middle aged woman asked, walking up to us in a white lab coat.

Jasper nodded.

"Uncuff her, Jasper," the woman frowned. "You're treating her like a criminal!"

"She is," Jasper shrugged.

"You've done worse," the woman said and Jasper unlocked the handcuffs. "Hello, Daisy, I'm Madeline. I'm going to do your medical assessment."

I frowned. "You what?"

"My father has ordered that you have a full medical work up," Jasper said.

"What? Fuck off," I snapped and stepped back when Madeline pulled a needle out of her pocket. "No way."

"It would be easier if you didn't resist," Madeline said.

"It would be easier if you dropped dead, but I don't think that's going to happen," I scowled and I ran to the door, but Jasper grabbed me and yanked me back. I punched him and he stumbled back. "No one is coming near me with any needles!"

Jasper sighed and I stepped back. "Don't do this," he said and I swore loudly when I crashed into something. Jasper ran forward and grabbed me, pinning me to his chest.

"Hold her arm out," Madeline ordered.

"Go to hell!" I growled and Jasper struggled to hold my arm forward.

"Oh screw this," he exclaimed and ripped his gun from his belt and I felt a painful blow to my head and my world went black.

My head was pounding when I woke up. I groaned and pried open my eyes, shutting them immediately when the light burned.

"Jesus," I muttered and went to rub my eyes, but my hand wouldn't move. I forced my eyes open and saw my right arm had been handcuffed to the bed, but I did realise that I had a splint on my hand for my dislocated thumb.

I blinked a few times. I was in the same medical room that I was in before. Only difference was that I was now handcuffed to a bed and dressed in one of those shitty hospital gowns.

I looked at my left hand and saw that it was bandaged up. I had freaked out a little last night. I punched more than I should've.

I winced when I tried to bend my hand. I could see a little bit of blood seeping through the bandage. I noticed that I was hooked up to a drip, but my handcuffed hand wouldn't let me pull out the needle that connected to tube to my arm.

I cringed when I saw needle marks in my arm. Bruises were starting to form around them.

"What the hell have they done to me?" I muttered.

"Nothing much."

I jumped when Madeline opened the curtain that separated me from the rest of the room and she smiled at me.

"You don't have to worry. We took some blood, checked you over, made sure you were healthy. The drip is just there to keep you hydrated while you were unconscious," Madeline explained.

I narrowed my eyes at her and raised my handcuffed wrist. "Is this necessary?"

Madeline smiled at me. "Do you really need me to answer that?"

I sighed. "What the fuck am I doing here? Why have you taken some of my blood? I swear you need consent to do that."

"The blood is for tests," Madeline simply.

"What sort of tests?" I demanded.

Madeline ignored me and she checked some paperwork at the end of the bed.

"Hey!" I snapped. "You can't do this! You can't keep me here! It's illegal."

"We're above the law, Daisy," Madeline said simply.

There was no doubt in my mind, this was the other assassin agency.

I still didn't know what they wanted with me. I had answered their questions about killing their agent, and they had yet to tell me anything.

Why was an agent that worked for this agency living in London and raping people.

"Nothing adds up," I murmured.

"Are you hungry?" Madeline asked.

"No."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes, I'm fucking sure!" I snapped.

Madeline didn't seem to notice, or ignored my harsh tone and smiled at me. "I'll bring you some food. I bet you're hungry after the night you've had."

I sighed angrily and shook my head at Madeline's retreating figure.

Ten minutes later Madeline returned with a tray of food that I ignored and she left me alone.

"You were meant to eat that." I looked up when the man from last night walked up to my bed. Jasper's father.

"I don't tend to have much of an appetite when I've been kidnapped," I said.

"The handcuffs wouldn't be necessary if we trusted you not to run," the man said and pulled a seat up and sat down.

"Is that meant to make me feel better?" I snapped. "What the hell do you want with me? And don't fucking say you want to ask more questions."

"We are waiting on some test results then the decision will be made," the man said and I rolled my eyes. "I don't think I introduced myself properly last night, my name is Richard Monroe, I am in charge of this organisation."

"Do you think I care what your name is?" I said.

Richard ignored me. "Daisy, when Madeline was doing her checkup, she noticed another scar on you. On your thigh. A stab mark."

I cringed at the thought of someone touching me while I was unconscious. "So?"

"How did you get it?"

"I got stabbed," I shrugged.

"When? Why?"
