Chapter 56

Ch. 56 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

"Lets go," the guy holding me said and there was the sound of doors opening. I resisted when I was pushed forward and the guy sighed angrily. "Walk! Just do as you're bloody told!"

I jumped when someone grabbed my other arm and I was dragged forward and roughly shoved into the back of what I was guessing was a van. I stumbled slightly and someone grabbed me and sat me down. A few minutes later the doors slammed and the van pulled away.

I took a few moments to calm my breathing. There was no point in freaking out, that would get me nowhere.

"She's gone calm."

"She's not. She's just thinking."

"She kicked me in the balls."

"Well, we are kidnapping her. Did you expect her to come willingly?"

"I didn't expect her to put up that much of a fight."

"She took all of us on."

"Apart from you, Jasper."

My head snapped up and someone swore. "You dick! Now she knows who we are!"

"Shit... Sorry mate."

"You're a fucking idiot," the familiar voice snapped. Jasper.

I frowned. Why were they kidnapping me?

I was pretty confident that they were agents, but it didn't explain all the effort taken to do this.

"She can fight really well," Jasper murmured and I could tell that he was sitting close to me.

"You heard what Mason was saying, they're all delinquents," another voice said.

"Who knows what she's done. What she's had to do."

"She burnt down their old house, it's why they had to move."

"You're a right little troublemaker, Daisy Kellerman," Jasper said and I narrowed my eyes.

My thoughts of them knowing I was already an agent went out of the window. They thought I was my cover.

Why the hell did they want me.

If they wanted to recruit me they'd just approach me, not kidnap me.

It went quiet at the guys talked lowly amongst themselves. I didn't pay attention, I was too busy trying to get out of the handcuffs.

I gritted my teeth and braced myself for the pain of dislocating my thumb. It was the only way to get out. I held my breath and pushed my thumb in, freezing when an obvious crunch was heard in the quiet van.

"Did she just-"

I pulled my hand free of the handcuff and ripped the blindfold off, but Jasper was quick and he bundled me to the ground. His weight was pinning me down and he grabbed my wrist.

"She fucking dislocated her thumb," Jasper snapped and I glared when he hit the back of my head. "Get it through your thick skull, you're not getting away!"

Jasper pulled me into a sitting position and quickly re cuffed me, pushing the cuffs very tight so they didn't budge on my wrists. He then took another pair of handcuffs out of his pocket and secured my already handcuffed hands to the metal leg of the bench that I had previously been sitting on. I yanked against the cuffs and sighed angrily.

"And just to be safe," Jasper said and tightened a cuff to my ankle and then cuffed me to the same metal leg.

"All this for her," Kyle said and raised his eyebrows at me. I glared at him. "I say we just kill her for what she did."

My glare turned into a frown. What did I do?

"She's not being killed," Jasper said as he sat back down, smirking when I pulled against the cuffs.

"An eye for an eye," Kyle shrugged.

"Look at her, she's clueless, she doesn't know what we're talking about," Sammy said.

"Oh, she does," Jasper nodded.

"So earlier when Sammy asked if she'd ever killed someone," Lee said and his eyes flickered to me.

I stiffened and Jasper noticed. "You're confused," he said. "You don't know who we're talking about. So you've killed more than once?"

I averted my eyes.

Jasper knew what the answer was.

"Well, don't worry, everything will be cleared up soon, Daisy."

The van suddenly lurched to a stop. Jasper crouched down next to me and secured the blindfold round my eyes before uncuffing some of my handcuffs. He left the ones around my wrists.

Jasper took me by one arm and I was grabbed on the other by someone and pushed out of the van. I could feel the gravel crunching beneath my feet as I was walked to... wherever the hell I was going.

I could tell we had entered a building now and I was pulled to a stop.

"We're letting go of you, but you're surrounded, so don't even think about running," Jasper said into my ear and suddenly there was no one beside me. I counted four seconds before there was a beep. Six seconds after that my arm was grabbed and I flinched when I was injected with something, right above where Jack had put the tracker.

The tracker.

I smirked to myself.

"She's clear," a voice said and I was grabbed again and pushed forward.

We walked for a while. No one spoke, but I could hear lots of movement around me.

"Stop," Jasper said finally and he uncuffed me. My gag was taken off and the blindfold untied. I blinked a few times and turned around just as Jasper walked out of the room and slammed the door behind him.

"Shit," I sighed and looked around just as there was a click of a lock. I was in a square room with tiled floor and grey walls. There was a metal table with two chairs on either side and a mirror in the middle of one of the walls. I frowned and walked up to it, putting my nail to the glass. "Two way," I murmured and turned around. I spotted a security camera in the corner of the room, watching my every move.

I looked down at my wrist. There was a small bump forming where I had been injected mysteriously.

I shrugged my shoulders and sat down on the floor, under the mirror. The room was sealed off. The door was the only way in or out. No vents, no nothing.

All I could do was wait.

One hour:

Nothing had happened.

Two hours:

Still nothing.

Three hours:

I was getting pissed off.

Four-

The door swung open and I looked up, crossing my arms over my chest. "Nice of you to pop in," I said and narrowed my eyes at the man who walked in. He was around 40 with light blonde hair that was cropped neatly. He had piercing blue eyes and was wearing dark jeans and a white button up shirt.

Somehow, he pulled it off, managing to look relatively cool, but also quite scary.

I stood up and leant back against the mirror as Jasper entered the room and shut the door behind him.

The man looked at me. He stood still. Stiff. But his blue eyes looked me over, darting from side to side. "Sit, Daisy," he said and walked over to the table in the middle of the room. He took a seat and looked up at me.

"I'm good here," I said and eyed him and Jasper cautiously.

"I'm sorry about the way we had to get you here-"

"Are you?" I challenge and the man narrowed his eyes at me, not happy about being interrupted.

"I hear you put up quite a fight."

"It's amazing what a girl can do when she's being kidnapped," I said, directing a cold look to Jasper.

"He was only following orders," the man said. "Please sit, Daisy."

"I'm fine here," I snapped. "And after being left in here for hours I am rather cranky and would like to know what the hell is going on!"

The man didn't seemed fazed at my yelling. He reached into his pocket and placed something on the table. "Do you know what this is?"

"No, and I have no intention of finding out."

"Just look at it," Jasper said and I regarded him with a look before walking over to the table and looking at the piece of paper the man had slid onto the table.

I frowned. "It's me," I said and picked up the picture, scanning it careful.

"Can you think of anything else to do with that picture?" The man asked, leaning forward and staring at me intently.

Suddenly it clicked.

"Shit," I mumbled. It was taken outside of his house. It was taken the night I killed Michael Moore.

"The penny has dropped," the man said triumphantly. "That image of you was all we got before the security cameras cut out."

I noticed Eli's leg in the background. I was the only person they knew was there.

I dropped the photo on the table. "So?"

"What did you do when you broke into that house, Daisy?" The man asked and I shrugged my shoulders.

"Commented on the fancy cheese in the fridge," I said and the man's eyes darkened.

He pulled out another photo and I stiffened, taking a step back.

"Recognise him?" The man asked.

"Funnily enough, I can't forget him, no matter how hard I try," I said.

"Guilt is a bad feeling," the man nodded.

"I wouldn't know," I said.

Jasper's head shot to mine, it was a look of disgust. "You killed him and you don't feel guilty?"

"I do not need to explain myself to you," I said stiffly, but my eyes flickered to the photo and I gulped.

I couldn't forget him, no matter how hard I tried. Subconsciously my hands went to my stomach where he stabbed me.

"He was very important to me. To my organisation, Daisy," the man said and I glanced at him.

I was guessing this man was the leader of the assassin agency. The only reason they would be bringing Michael Moore up was if...

If he was an agent.

"Was he?" I said. "If you're asking me why I killed him then I'm assuming you have no idea what he did."

The man raised his eyebrows. "What did he do? What did he do that made you kill him?"

I took a deep breath and looked at the man. "Was he a good person? A nice person?

The man nodded.

"If he was such a nice person then explain why he killed me."

Jasper was the first to speak. "Killed you?" He laughed. "Stop stalling, we only want the truth."

I ignored Jasper and looked at the man who was watching me carefully. "He knew who I was when I killed him. He begged me not too, yet when I was begging and crying for him to stop, he didn't. Why should I have shown him mercy when he killed me?"

The man let out a breath. He was not expecting this. "Before you carry on talking, think it through, Daisy. I do not appreciate liars."

"It's a good job I'm not lying then," I said.

"What do you mean he killed you?" Jasper asked, frowning at me.

"He stabbed me, but that was before he raped me," I said slowly and they both looked at me with shocked expressions.

"Carry on," the man urged.

"There's nothing more to say," I said stiffly. "Surprisingly it's not something I like to discuss with strangers."

"Where did he stab you?" The man asked. He had gone tense and looked angry. His eyes went to my stomach where my hands were. "Jasper, confirm it."

I jumped back as Jasper stepped forward and soon my back hit the wall. I slapped Jasper's hand away when he reached for me and he raised his eyebrows.

"We've proven that I'm a lot stronger than you," he said lowly and I gritted my teeth when he lifted my top. He whistled and looked up at me. "That is a dirty scar," he commented and stared at it for a while longer. "And it's a scar from a stab wound."

"When did it happen?" The man asked.

"About five, six months ago, it's not exactly a date I put on my calendar," I muttered and Jasper dropped my top.

"The scar is new, not fresh, but it looks about 5/6 months old," he said and turned round.

As soon as his back was turned my eyes went to the knife in his belt and I grabbed it, spinning it expertly in my hands and pressing it to Jasper's neck.

"Now, Daisy, lets not be rash," the man called.

"I happen to do a lot of things without thinking," I snapped. "People would say it's stupid, I disagree."

"You won't even step out of this room before you're taken down," Jasper said confidently.

"I'll take my chances," I growled and pressed the knife against his skin so it drew blood. "I don't know who you guys are-"

Lie, I knew exactly who they were.

"But I've killed someone who worked for your organisation or whatever, and I have a feeling you're not too happy about that," I said. "So, forgive me for thinking this, but I'm pretty doubtful about a happy ending for me."

"I wasn't happy," the man called. "Until you explained the reasons."

"You believe me?"

The man nodded. "I do, but I'm more interested in how you found him. Put the knife down and we can discuss this."

"Or I can stab you." I looked down and sighed when I saw Jasper had a knife aimed at my thigh.

"I'm getting clumsy," I muttered and pushed Jasper away from me. I rubbed my eyes tiredly and looked at the man.

"I would appreciate it if you passed me the knife," he said and I leant back against the wall.

"I wouldn't."

"Daisy, my son is highly trained, it wouldn't be hard for him to take it from you," the man said and I raised my eyebrows.

"Son?"

The man nodded. "Now, the knife?"

"If he's so highly trained then he should be able to stop anything I plan to do with this knife," I said and flipped it up in the air, catching it safely.

I had always loved training with knives.

Until Blake stabbed me.
