Damon sat in his office as he went through the reports. He was working on straightening out all those who caused grievances to Anya.
He had already talked to his mother. He first looked at the reports on her activities and saw something suspicious.
Amanda had paid all the bills of George and was constantly visiting him. Damon had already felt something when Amanda was adamant about marrying him off to Ms. Ambrosia and strengthening their ties with Ambrosia. Still, he brushed it off as he thought it was not worth minding.
But now, it was different. He needed something to keep her mother down. That is why when he mentioned this to her when he talked her out, she became quiet and formed all sorts of excuses. She also stopped arguing with him about his concern.
Damon does not care what his mother's secrets and desires are, but all he wanted was for her to leave Anya alone. So he was satisfied when he saw she kept quiet about it.
Up next was the heiress of the Ambrosia. He will make sure to cut off and be transparent with her about everything, once and for all.
So he called her out for an appointment.
Veronica was still pleasing Amanda. But she was getting anxious because until now, Amanda had not taken any move since their attack on Anya at the hospital. Veronica could also feel Amanda was getting annoyed at her.
What is happening? She thought she and Amanda finally decided to make Anya's life a living hell.
Veronica was starting to become impatient when she suddenly received a text. It was from Damon's secretary telling her to meet him!
Veronica was so delighted! This was the first invitation from Damon, and she was so thrilled.
She hurriedly bid goodbye to Amanda to go home for a quick change. She needs to be perfect tonight.
When she went home, she went straight to her closet to find something to wear. She chose a skimpy red dress that hugged her body tightly. It also had a slit to show off her long legs. She made her makeup exquisitely, picked her most expensive perfume, and put a large amount on her. She then chose a pair of shoes and a bag that would suit her outfit.
When she felt everything was perfect, she nodded to herself in the mirror and went out. She headed to the restaurant stated in the message. The restaurant was luxurious, just to her taste. She smiled at Damon's attentiveness and was flattered in her heart.
She went inside and was led to their table.
Veronica sat on her seat, anxious yet excited. She drank some wine to calm her and give her more confidence. The woman was so excited and thrilled that she did not notice that 30 minutes had passed before Damon arrived.
The man was adorned in a crisp suit, tall and handsome. He walks inside the restaurant, and people can't help but cast him a gaze. Veronica stared at him admiringly, and she smirked at the people staring at the man.
Sorry ladies. His partner is me.
Veronica smiled triumphantly as she stood up from her seat to welcome the man.
Damon did not mind this appointment so much that he was late. But the woman did not seem to mind it as she smiled sweetly at him. Good evening, Damon. You look great." Veronica happily greeted her as she went for a greeting sit. But Damon directly sat on his seat, not giving the woman a chance to touch him.
"Thanks. Have a seat." He said in an emotionless voice.
Veronica stiffened for a moment, but she brushed it off. Oh, it was just his personality. What's essential is he invited her to eat.
With this, Veronica regained her smile and sat beside him.
"Thank you for inviting me. This place is perfect. You have such wonderful taste. Oh, and I heard their food is superb!" Veronica rattled as she stared lovingly at the man while serving him wine.
Damon only let the woman talk, not answering nor taking a drink from the wine she served.
Veronica also did not mind this and continued to talk nonsense. The waiter approached them when he felt they were ready to order.
"Oh, perfect! Damon, what do you want? Their steak is their best seller here. I guess we should try it." Veronica enthusiastically suggested.
Damon only looked at his wristwatch and answered casually, uninterested.
"Whatever you want,"
But Veronica took this differently.
"Oh, you're so thoughtful," She smiled sweetly at him. Then she ordered whatever she wanted.
When the waiter left, Damon did not beat around the bush and opened up about her purpose of asking Veronica out.
"Ms. Ambrosia, I have something to clarify with you," He said with a cold voice. Veronica heard this and was about to speak, but Damon's words rang.
"I like Anya, and I am pursuing her." He dropped without hesitation. The smile on Veronica's face vanished.
"And you have been such a nuisance to Anya. And I don't like how you keep making trouble for her." Damon added as he stared at her coldly.
Veronica finally woke up from her surprise.
"What are you talking about, Damon? Don't ruin our date by mentioning some bitch." Veronica said vilely as she smiled loosely, trying to brush off what Damon had just said.
Did he like her? Did he just say it personally to her? That can't be. She must be mishearing it.
But Damon did not give her that peace of mind.
"This is not a date. It seems like Ms. Ambrosia misunderstands something. I called you here to tell you about my feelings for my woman and warn you."
Veronica couldn't believe her ears, and she almost went crazy.
"You can't ruin our dinner! Stop talking about it!" She slammed her fist onto the table as she exclaimed.
Damon stared at her with disgust.
"It looks like a judge you too lightly. You are more shameless and insane than I thought." He said without a care.
Veronica was startled when she realized she had shown him an ugly side of herself. She tried to appease him.
"Damon, it's not-"
But the man didn't have that patience anymore.
"Let's stop the useless talk. Ms. Ambrosia, you already know what I am capable of. I already warned your family, and it seems you don't learn. This is my last warning."
He said and leaned to the table.
"When I set my eyes on something or someone, it is already mine. So Anya is already my woman. And no one can touch what's mine whenever I'm still alive. Keep that in your mind." He whispered sternly with his eyes dark.
Veronica paled as she saw the expression on the man's face and shivered. He looks dangerous.
Damon straightened up and fixed his coat as he stood up.
"That's all I have to stay. I expect you to choose and act wisely." He said in dismissal as he walked to leave.
"No, Damon. Wait-"Veronica also stood up to follow him. She stretched out her hand, but she was his secretary blocked her.
"Ms. Ambrosia, I advise you don't touch the boss that casually," Gabe said coldly.
Veronica felt she was slapped in the face. She felt the humiliation as the secretary turned coldly at her, and he and Damon walked away without turning back.
Veronica was left standing stunned and fuming with anger.
All these took place, and the two did not know that someone was listening and formulating a plan within the restaurant.
Andrei sat at the back as he watched the woman who had left by that man just now. Scheme and malice loomed in his eyes as he smirked.
