"I’m so sorry Ma’am and Sir for the inconvenience. There was a bit of rough situation but it’s all alright now. Hope we stay calm and at ease.”
The words of the flight stewardess rang and it broke the ambiguous cloud between Anya and Damon.
Anya immediately jolted out of Damon’s hold. with red cheeks she stammered.
“Uhm, I, I’ll go to the bathroom now.” Anya carelessly said as she rushed to the bathroom.
Damon looked at his empty arms and Anya’s rushing figure and can’t help but chuckle.
The feel of her soft body and sweet fragrance is something he will never forget and might hunt him from now on.
He took a sip of wine to calm his mind and nerves and was oblivious that his neck and the tips of his ears were red.
Anya went inside the bathroom and stared dumbly at her reflection in the mirror. She saw her face flushed pink and her eyes watery. She blushed even more.
She shut her eyes tightly and turned on the faucet to slap some water on her face. What the hell Anya? You’re acting like a teenager!
She reprimanded herself.
Anya took her time to compose herself in the bathroom before going back to her sit. When she sat back, the atmosphere was awkward and quiet. The two doesn’t know what to say to each other so they remained silent.
Each of them had different thoughts.
Anya was embarrassed while Damon was worried that he offended Anya. In the end, the both of them sighed silently.
The travel went on silently until it they arrived at their destination. When they went out od the airport, that was when Damon spoke.
“I’ll drop you of to your meeting place.” He offered. He was quite nervous that Anya might reject him because if what happened earlier.
But contrary, Anya only smiled shyly and accepted. “Thank you.” She gratefully said.
This made Damon at ease. It meant that Anya was not angry about what happened in the plane.
Anya then told him the hotel they were staying. The driver directly drove of to the address.
When they arrived, Damon offered to help her with her luggage. She tried to politely refuse, but with Damon’s gentlemanly qualities, he didn’t let her carry such heavy things when she had him with her. So Anya could only acquiesce helplessly.
Anya went to the front desk to ask for her key. She had already arranged this beforehand, so she immediately received it and they proceeded to her room.
When they arrived, Anya asked Damon to drop her of here.
“Thank you very much. You helped me a lot for this travel already.” She said quite embarrassedly.
Damon heard thus and he smiled.
“No worries. We don’t have to be so courteous. We’re not strangers.” He said this again and looked at Anya in the eye.
The two once again fell in a daze as they stared at each other, both had the happening earlier in their mind.
But they were disturbed with the ringing of Damon’s phone. Anya then shook out of her thoughts.
“Right, you might be busy. Don’t worry about me now, thank you again!” She said a bit too quickly and rushed to the room with her tail between her legs.
Damon found this funny as he stared at her until she entered her room. He then heard the annoying sound of his phone and became irritated. He sighed.
“Yes.” He answered as he picked up the phone and went to his room in the very same hotel.
Anya arranged her things in her hotel room. After she finished organizing, she contacted the business associate she would be meeting.
She made the latter know that she had arrived and to schedule an appointment. Luckily, he replied immediately and had a free time this afternoon. So, Anya gladly agreed to the arrangement and the appointment was finalized.
There was still a bit time before the meeting so Anya took this chance to rest. She just got out from the plane and had a little jet lag. She could really use a nap.
She changed and freshened up and got ready for a nap. Anya set up an alarm and entered her nap peacefully.
A man inside his office was talking with someone in the phone.
“I know man, I am meeting with her later.” He said to the one he is speaking in the other line.
He listened for a while and then responded again.
“Yes, yes, I will keep in touch. Don’t worry I won’t eat your woman!” He teased. After listening for a while, he hanged up and started preparing for the meeting.
Anya woke up after a couple of hours. Just in time for her to prepare. She quickly freshened up again and changed in a formal attire.
She is wearing a white midriff top inside a black coat. She paired this with a black pencil skirt and a pair of black stilettos. She also did her face with a light make up.
After she was satisfied with her look, she took her bag and the things she needed and headed on her way.
She left the hotel and took a taxi to the restaurant where she would be meeting the business associate.
When she arrived, she told the waiter their reservation and she was lead to a table where a man was waiting in a formal suit.
When she saw him, she immediately felt he was familiar. The man looked up and saw her. He flashed a proper smile. “Ms. Anya? We meet again.” He noted.
It was Alex! The one she met at the Castellano’s mansion.
“Mr. Alex? Are you.. David’s major benefactor?” Anya couldn’t help but ask. Alex did not mind it and stood up to offer his hand.
“I am. Glad to meet you formally.”
Anya looked at his offered hand and she recovered. She also flashed him a smile and shook his hand.
“Thank you for this opportunity. I still remember your help back at the Castellanos. Thank you again.” Anya said and laughed lightly.
Alex liked Anya’s personality, and even now, so he did not regret accepting Damon’s offer to invest in Anya’s studio.
“No problem. Actually, I am good friends with Damon. He had already told me to look after you that time.” He revealed.
When Anya heard this, she was once again marveled. Was Damon really this attentive? And when she heard they were good friends, Anya was at ease to trust and do business with this man. He believed in Damon’s vision and the people around him.
The two smiled and said a few pleasantries. They then sat down.
“Let’s order first? You could tell me the contents of the proposal while you are at it.” Alex offered. Anya also gladly acquiesced. She did feel a little hungry.
With that, they called for the waiter and enumerated their order. After, Anya started with her presentation while waiting for the food.
She gave him an overview of their studio first. Alex listened and can’t help but be impressed. When he first heard Damon’s favor, he didn’t give it a lot of mind and just thought Damon wanted to help her. Who knew he will actually think that this venture would be a great idea?
Their food arrived shortly. Anya had already shown Alex her designs, and Alex complimented it greatly. They were now talking about the expansion and venturing in real estate.
“You can first open a studio at the capital. There, it is a place of the most prestigious buildings. David’s company would be a good venture for real estate and your designs would be perfect for it. After we work on the details and finances, I think this will be possible.” Alex said after they discussed the proposal.
Anya heard this and she was ecstatic! She was happy to hear such positive words.
“I assure you we will work on the following details and give you a structured breakdown. I hope you would see to it.” She said formally despite her excitement.
Alex was satisfied. Anya was woman who would be joining the business and real estate field and he was quite worried. But looking at her attitude and outlooks, he felt she would be great in the work. He admired her more.
Within their meeting, he was constantly emailing Damon about the progress. He was keeping in touch with him just as he said.
Anya saw him typing something but respected his privacy. Anyway, she was just happy. She happily thought-
‘I think this business trip is a success.’
