The morning of the next day, Anya went back to work in her studio. When she arrived, her two assistants were already there and opened the studio.
“Good morning,” She greeted cheerfully at them.
“Good morning miss.” They greeted but Anya noticed their nervous and problematic façade.
“What’s wrong?” Anya can’t help but ask. The two assistants looked at each other. “Miss, there’s something you need to know.”
Anya flipped through the documents in the table and can’t help but press on her temples.
All the clients they had suddenly cancelled their contract with them. She was a lost for a while. She didn’t know what happened for them to break their agreement with her studio.
“What happened while I was gone?” She could only ask her two assistants. After her business trip, this is the first thing that greeted her. So unfortunate.
“Miss, we don’t know. The clients just suddenly called one after the other that they will cancel their plans with us.” One of her assistants answered.
Anya sighed. What will she say to David and Alex? Her part in the expansion cannot be supported without these clients.
Moreover, what made these clients suddenly cancel their contracts? What were they dissatisfied with? They should’ve at the very least told them and gave them a chance to fix the problem.
Anya wanted to contact them but she suddenly felt drained. She weakly leaned back on her chair and waved at her assistants.
“Let’s have a break for now. I will think this through. Serve this as your free day.” She said as she let them go for a day.
The assistants tried to reject and said that they would be with her while fixing things through but Anya insisted. She rather clear her mind first.
Her two assistants then left and Anya was alone in the studio. She stared at the papers scattered at her desk and can’t help but feel down.
She knew starting this venture wasn’t easy, but she can’t help but feel frustrated whenever she felt she finally elevating, something would happen that would instantly bring her down.
Anya stood up from her seat to leave her office. She went out towards her studio’s receiving area and sat in one of the couches. She looked through the glass wall separating the inside from the outside and watched at the busy street out front.
While she was in a daze, a black luxurious car suddenly stopped in front of her studio. She felt this car is awfully familiar.
As expected, Damon went out of the car first. He saw her through the glass and their eyes met. He then turned back to the inside of the car and bent down to get something.
When he stood back again, Allen, their son, was already in his arms. Anya’s eyes lit up as she saw her son waving cheerfully at her.
Damon opened the door and Allen’s crisp voice was heard. “Mommy!” He greeted with his hands reaching out for her. Anya stood up with a smile in her face.
“Baby!” She happily greeted to. She reached out for him and the baby gleefully went to her arms.
“I’m sorry. He was throwing a tantrum about wanting to see you.” Damon helplessly explained. Anya turned to him and smiled softly.
“It’s fine. I’m happy to meet him to.” She responded. Allen nuzzled in her neck and hugged her tightly.
Damon looked around the place and noted.
“Where’s your people?” He asked as he noticed the quiet atmosphere. Anya’s face dimmed for flash but went back to smile.
“I gave them a day off.” She answered simply.
Although she tried to say it normally, Damon still hinted the sadness from her voice. While the little child who heard this happily looked up.
“So Mommy free? Play! Play!” The toddler cheerfully asked.
“Mon, you promised not to disturb mommy with her work.” Damon reprimanded his son. The child heard this and pouted.
Anya chuckled and patted his back and planted a kiss on his cheeks. She then turned to Damon and assured him.
“It’s fine. I am free. I want to play with him too.” “Yay!” Allen celebrated.
Damon looked carefully at Anya. “Are you sure?” He asked attentively.
“Yes. Where do you want to go, baby?” Anya first answered Damon and turned to her son.
“Amusement park! Amusement park!” The little boy excitedly cheered with his eyes bright.
Anya chuckled at this.
“Really? I’m up for it!” She acquiesced. The two of them, seemingly had the same mind, turned to Damon at the same time.
Damon looked at the two pairs of blue eyes staring at him expectantly and can’t help but sigh.
“Yay!” Mother and son both cheered. Anya too felt excited like she went back to being a kid. She also thought this will be a good diversion to her problems.
So the family of three went to the amusement park as they wished.
When they arrived, the atmosphere was lively. But people can’t help but look at their direction.
Anya was glad she chose to dress casually today, in a simple tight shirt and a high waist jeans. She also wore a pair of white snickers.
But unfortunately, the boss was standing tall in the middle of the amusement park wearing his three-piece suit. Anya looked teasingly at him.
Damon was aware of this, so he took of his coat and passed it to his secretary. Wearing a white button down, she appeared more casual but still eye-catching.
But before they could even take account of this, Allen already ran and happily chasing the mascots.
Damon and Anya looked at each other and chuckled. Then they followed their son.
They let Allen run freely but still keeping an eye at them. he pointed at many masks and headbands, and in the end, the three of them wore mickey mouse headband, with Anya having a big bow with it.
Anya held the headband for Damon and already felt funny even before he was wearing it. She personally put it on his head and found him extremely cute.
Damon saw Anya giggling and can’t help pinching her cheeks. “You’re having fun, huh?” He noted. Anya laughed more and nodded.
The three of them then went to try the rides. Since, Allen was still young, they could only ride the carousel. But of course Anya followed along while pulling Damon.
So the ending, Damon sat on one of the big horses with Allen in his front and Anya beside him riding a pink horse.
Anya can’t help but take pictures of the Boss Castellano riding a carousel horse with a mickey mouse headband.
She laughed gleefully. Allen was also very happy. He was riding in one of his dream experience that he only saw in TV and his mommy and daddy was beside him. he couldn’t be anymore happy.
Damon, looking at his son and his woman very happy, so he ignored the embarrassment of people giving him odd looks.
The three of them tried other minor rides and had fun.
When they finally decided to rest, Allen pointed at a colorful food sold in a stall. It was a cotton candy.
Anya suddenly realized the cotton candy she received when she was down on a park one day.
Today, she was very depressed, but she received more than a cotton candy. Having fun today with her son and Damon lifted her mood greatly.
“You want cotton candy?” Anya asked Allen and picked him up. The child nodded aggressively.
“Want! Want!” He happily cheered.
Damon heard this too and they approached the vendor.
They bought the biggest cotton candy and Allen took a big bite. His eyes immediately brightened.
“Yummy!”
He took a bite again and presented it to the two adults. “Mommy and Daddy too!” He said as he pushed it to their face.
Damon and Anya looked at each other and smiled. The both of them took a bite at the same time and Allen followed.
The family of three happily ate the cotton candy together.
Going home.
Damon and Allen dropped off Anya on her apartment. Anya kissed her son goodbye.
“Bye baby.” She said to him.
Allen was already pouting. Clearly reluctant to let his mommy go, but he was already sleepy and his lids were already drooping. So he could only bid her goodbye.
“Bye bye mommy.” He said softly until his eyes closed.
Anya smiled watching him and turned to Damon. She smiled softly at him.
“Thank you for today.” She thanked him.
Damon stared at her delicate and beautiful face. Her eyes carried happiness and his heart also felt warm.
“No problem. I was happy being with you too.” Damon said honestly.
Anya blushed. She didn’t expect him to say it so bluntly. She can’t help but stammer.
“Then, uhm, goodbye.” She said in a rush and hurriedly went out of the car, seemingly escaping.
Damon watched her running figure and can’t help but chuckle. But his eyes glinted after a moment.
He can’t forget the look of her eyes this morning. He knew something came up. Damon glanced at his sleeping son and ordered the driver to drive home.
At the residence.
“What?!” Damon asked abruptly at the one on the phone.
He was in his office at his house. The moment they got home, he immediately asked his people to find out what happened at Anya’s studio.
And right now, he found out all her clients backed out on her.
In Damon’s mind, Anya’s smiling face earlier flashed. He did not expect she was hiding this kind of heavy problem behind that beautiful smile.
But this problem was suspicious. Why would the clients suddenly back out? He can’t help but think someone was deliberately causing this.
But who could it be?
Damon’s expression darkened. He immediately ordered the one on the other line. “Investigate.”
