In the next days, Anya focused on expanding her studio. The studio was doing good, and it was a good step to expand it. The problem is, Anya lacked funds.
“Why don’t you ask Mr. Castellano for help?” Marie said to her. The two of them were in a restaurant right now, and they had Anya’s expansion as their topic.
Anya heard her friend’s words and can’t help but glare at her.
“Stop talking about that.” Anya only said as she sipped on her juice.
Marie rolled her eyes. She was just catching Anya’s reaction but she still can’t help have a violent reaction.
“Why, he had help you a couple of times right?” Marie said in a sarcastic tone. Anya could only sigh at her friend’s words.
“I don’t want to have any connection with him anymore. It is better now that he had stopped seeing me.” She said as she played listlessly with her food.
Marie perfectly knew what’s playing in her friend’s mind but she can’t understand this.
“Why are you doing this, Anya. The guy clearly had good intentions for you, but you will just cut him off?”
“It will save us both from conflicts. Trust me.” Anya could only said as she released a breath.
“Anyway, why is the topic shifted to him?” Anya rebutted her friend. Marie saw the determination in Anya and finally let it go.
“Right, right, it’s the expansion. Well, how about look for investors?” Marie suggested as they continued to eat.
Anya had also thought of this but the problem is, she didn’t know many business man to associate with.
She sighed. Business really is not that simple.
Just as they were having this topic, a man walked in the restaurant and coincidently passed by their table. He glance at their table and stopped on his track.
“Anya is that you?” He said as he approached their table.
When she heard this, Anya turned her head to the direction of the voice. she saw a neatly dressed man with gentle appearance. She felt he was familiar.
The man saw Anya’s expression and smiled.
“It’s David, we were classmates in college.” He introduced himself. Anya finally remembered and was a it surprised.
“David, is that you? Wow, I almost didn’t recognize you!” She exclaimed. This classmate was a quiet but talented boy in the past, but his looks were more low-key. Now he was dressed very presentable and his once quiet and somber aura was replaced with a mature and professional air.
“If it isn’t our class monitor, hey you only notice Anya, huh?” Marie also greeted and teased.
David saw Marie too and chuckled.
“Marie, you’re as valiant as ever. Good evening to you two ladies,” He corrected his greetings as he gave face to both women.
Anya and Marie invited David to their table for old times sake, and the latter did not disagree.
“Where do you work?” Marie asked as the trio had a catch up about each other’s lives.
“I have a construction company, it is fortunately stiving for a couple of years now.” David said. The women each gave their praise and reminisce how David was an achiever since their schooldays.
Marie also said her professional career and they talked a bit about her department. When it was Anya’s turn, she smiled.
“Well, I have my own studio right now. It is quite doing well and I am thinking of expanding.” She felt full on her heart. she now finally has something she could be proud of and talk of it as her own.
“That’s great. I always admired your designs. How’s the progress so far.” David praised and asked.
“Oh, well expanding is hard especially I’m just starting. I’m still lacking of funds and thinking to invite investors, but there are just a few ones I know.” She said honestly.
David heard this and thought for a while.
“You know, my company is also thinking of entering real estate and designs. I think it will be great to have an association with the design field. How about we negotiate about this in the next days?” David suggested.
Anya’s eyes lit up. She can’t believe she would meet someone who is can help her with her plans. Construction is just the perfect associate for her studio.
“That will be great!” Anya happily acquiesced. The two of them exchanged business cards and decided for an appropriate appointment.
When all of these were done, Marie grabbed her glass and happily exclaimed.
“Well, this calls for a celebration! Another round of wine?” She asked. The two followed suit in grabbing their glass and they clinked them together. They laughed as Marie ordered another bottle of wine.
The dinner that became a little get together and then a business negotiation harmoniously proceeded and concluded.
David entered his Damon after he saw the two women off in a cab. When he was inside, he took out his phone and dialed a number. It rang a few times before it was picked up.
“How is it?” The voice in the other line directly inquired.
“Mr. Castellano, I already had a deal with Anya,” David respectfully said in the other line. “Good,” Was the only thing he heard from the other line.
Damon put down the phone after he said a few more words. Then, he leaned back on his chair to think deeply.
After Damon was angry for a couple of days, he gradually calmed down. He also investigated about Anya and Andrei’s relationship and found out that Anya resolutely rejected Andrei.
This made him a bit comforted but still, he was still hurt being pushed aside by Anya. He was still a person, and he still felt dejected being unwanted by the woman he likes. He felt Anya would never like him. He is just like another Andrei.
But still, he couldn’t help but still keep an eye on Anya. Every night, he would look after her when she goes home in case something will happen to her especially she goes home alone.
He really felt silly, still being hanged up on a woman that did not want him. he can even pass as a stalker.
Even with all these, he still wanted the best for Anya.
That’s why when he heard she is having conflicts in expanding her business, he contacted one of her schoolmates in the past to make arrangements for her. This is just a small thing for him to do, and he feels it is still acceptable.
Damon knew how talented Anya was, and if just given opportunity, she can achieve greater merits. The world had been unfair to her, but he saw her worth. So he wanted to be the opportunity for her.
Even in the sidelines, he wanted to see this bird soar high and fly freely.
