Damon’s morning was exceptionally good. So good that he and his son was reluctant leave Anya’s apartment. But then, after endless coaxing, he and Allen finally left, half-heartedly.
Because of his bliss, Damon was more energetic. Energetic to make the despicable ones pay. His eyes held darkness as he gave out his orders. His counter-attack for the Davidss to what they did to Anya. This time he did not plan to take it easy.
With that, Andrei was just left with a notice of the Castellano’s Group of Company pulling out from their association. Not only that, but also investors and business associates of the Davidss, but were also subsidiaries of the Castellanos, were also out of the Davidss grasp.
With just a day, the Davidss Group of Companies plummeted with just a snap of the finger coming from the boss of the Castellanos.
Andrei was left with no room to turn to. He was struck with a lightning with all the problem arising. The company was falling a part from different departments, but he knew all these stemmed from the Castellanos.
Therefore, he gritted his teeth and went to the Castellano’s group of Company to ask for an audience. They can’t just pull-out like this! They have an agreement!
Andrei disgruntledly thought while he was on the way. When he arrived, he directly went inside.
But before he could even step onto the building, he was stopped by the security guard. “I’m sorry, Sir. But you are not liable to pass,” The guard said strictly.
Andrei felt all his blood rushed to his head. His face reddened by the humiliation.
“What do you mean? Do you know who I am? I am Andrei Davids, the president of the Davidss Group of Companies!” He exclaimed as he pointed angrily at the guard.
He was already pissed by his problems, and now, he was disrespect in front of his face! Damon Castellano was really too much.
“Sorry Sir. It’s orders.” The guard answered dismissively and closed the glass door in front of Andrei’s face.
Andrei was fuming mad as he kicked the door and cursed.
He angrily eyed the building one last time as he turned around in a huff. He can’t believe this is happening.
Back inside his office, Andrei vented his anger on the documents and vases on the tables.
His eyes are red, and in his mind, he had already killed Damon a thousand times.
When he was exhausted, he drooped down on his swivel chair as he massaged his temples. He did not know where to start and what to do to fix this mess.
Just as he was having a headache, his phone rang. When he saw the name of the caller, his eyes immediately brightened.
It was Anya.
He immediately accepted the call and answered with enthusiasm. “Anya!”
On the other end, the person sighed.
“Hey, uhm, can we meet?” She said with a soft voice.
Andrei’s heart leaped. He thought that their plan finally took fruit. Anya was moved by the hero saving the beauty. Perfect.
The timing was just right as his stress level decreased a lot.
When Anya said a place, Andrei did not have second thoughts and headed straight to the address.
But contrary to Andrei’s expectations, Anya’s intention was the complete opposite. “Were you the one who did it?”
Anya asked Andrei in a firm voice. She sat on her seat with a solemn face.
Andrei was stunned. He thought he will be welcomed with open arms and loving eyes. Not this interrogation!
Anya looked at Andrei carefully. She was hunted by that night every time, and she felt she needed to know the truth. And if it was Andrei, she seriously needed to stop him from playing with her and her life!
She personally chose a crowded and open place to talk, because of her doubt. She can’t be to complacent.
“What do you mean?” Andrei asked incredulously.
Anya sighed and asked patiently. If he wanted to talk in circles, she will play along. But she wouldn’t give up. She needed to know the truth now.
“The day I was kidnapped, how did you find me?” Anya narrowed her eyes suspiciously at Andrei.
Andrei was caught of guard by her question. He didn’t expect she would ask such a thing so he was not prepared. But she shouldn’t have asked anymore! She should be moved with tears right now!
Was he wrong all along?
“Anya,,” He tried to reach for her hand but Anya moved away from his touch. “Tell me the truth,” Anya said solemnly.
Andrei sighed.
“I saw you being dragged towards the hotel.” He answered without stammering. Anya looked at him inquisitively.
“Why were you there? It is far from the Davidss.” Anya did not give up and continued to find fault in his answers.
Anya specifically chose her location that is far from the Davidss scope. So he shouldn’t have showed up there, unless if it was deliberate.
“I have business there-“ Andrei tried to excuse but he was cut-off.
“Stop lying! The man was also familiar, tell me is he one of your people?” Anya’s voice started to grow as her hands clenched. Her doubt was continuously growing.
“Anya! Stop your nonsense! I saved you! And you won’t even give me an ounce of gratitude?” Andrei finally lost his patience. He was fresh from the anger and stress from the attack on their family business, and now, he was faced with such questions from Anya.
Anya pursed her lips as she saw the anger in his face.
She was now more sure that Andrei was a part of the conspiracy against her.
“And what gratitude do you want me to give you? No matter what you do, we will never be together again. I hope you accept that now. If even if it is true, I won’t get back with you. So if you have other plans, just stop it. Stop playing with my life.” Anya said sternly. She stood up and grabbed her purse, ready to leave.
Andrei saw this and hurriedly stood up to grab her.
“Don’t turn your back on me. How ungrateful! Is this how you changed after playing with that bastard Castellano?” Andrei said harshly.
Anya felt incredulous with his words.
“Let go of me, Andrei.” She said with gritted teeth.
“What, you don’t want me anymore? You like that asshole more because he has more money?! I’ll give it to you too, and I’ll bring that bastard down! If you want money so much then-“ Andrei’s foolish words was stopped from Anya’s slap.
Anya’s chest was heaving up and down as he stared disgustingly at the man.
“You never change. I dread that I was once associated with you.” She said with cold voice.
Andrei was stunned from the slap, so his hold on her loosened. Anya took the opportunity to yank her arms. She then turned around and leave, without looking back.
A man who saved you wouldn’t act like that. Everything had loopholes and Anya was not stupid.
No. I’ll never fall for these again.
