Right after Amanda left the Castellano's Group of Companies building, she went to the hospital to visit George.
She had been worried for him since she got the news of his attack so that she couldn't see him.
When she arrived at the hospital, she went directly to his room.
When she arrived, she was greeted by Veronica. She was with her mother, watching over the head of their family.
"Auntie!"
Amanda looked pass at the girl to the man lying in bed. He looked tired and weak as he moved slowly to look at her.
Amanda felt even more guilty and worried as he saw the state of the man. The once sturdy and straight man was lying weakly in a hospital bed. He was wearing a white hospital gown, with several infusions injected in his hand and arms.
Amanda cleared her throat as she spoke.
"I came here to visit; how are you?" She asked the man.
"I am already fine," He answered in his low and hoarse voice. George watched the luxurious woman standing before him, so she did come.
Lily, who was standing on the sides, was displeased. She did not like this woman from the start. But she was the Madame of the powerful company her husband deals with. So she needed to suck it up and still face this woman, but she was not that nice to fawn at her. It is not necessary to do so, and she hated the idea.
Yet, Lily always feels ambiguity towards the two, Amanda and her husband, George. She feels something between them is not just a mere business contract. And even with their family, Lily felt their connection, not just pure business.
"That is good," Amanda replied as she smiled at him. Lily felt even more dissatisfied. This woman completely ignored her, the wife, and smiled comfortably at her husband! Just because she has a strong background.
"Oh, by the way. Damon wants to relay that he will be considering the termination later. So do not worry about that." She gave the good news to the family. George's face brightened as he asked.
"Really?"
The two women in the room also felt delighted.
"Auntie? That is great!" Veronica cheerfully said.
Lily knew just how much damage the Castellanos could give them, so when she heard this, she temporarily forgot her hate towards Amanda.
"I believe it is because of your words. Our family thanks you." She took the initiative to thank Amanda. The latter turned to her and smiled after a moment.
"No problem," Amanda said as she turned back towards George. Their eyes met, and George nodded gently at her. Amanda's smile deepened.
Lily was utterly oblivious to this as she arranged food for Amanda. She was willing to put good words for the woman because of what she did.
The people in the room talked as they ate.
"All you need is to convince Damon again. I am sure he won't give you a hard time. He is not that unreasonable too." Amanda said to George. The man also talked about his investigations within the company and the possible troubles that Damon might have found unsatisfactory.
After a while, Veronica spoke.
"Auntie, I am glad Damon got back to his senses! Don't worry; I will not let that woman seduce Damon! A divorced woman who cheated on her husband, there is no doubt she would fool Damon!" She exclaimed.
Amanda remembered what Damon said in the office, but when she heard Veronica's words about how despicable that woman was, she immediately cut off this thought.
A divorcee who was also a cheater? What a loose woman! Lily backed up her daughter's words.
"We can't trust this kind of woman. They are different from our world. No class and breeding! I hope Damon sees that." She hinted. She would also like her daughter to be the next Madame Castellano. If her daughter's competitor would just be a mere street
woman, then there is nothing to back off for. Her Veronica is more worthy of being a Castellano!
Amanda listened to their words and agreed in her heart. Having this kind of daughter-in-law would be a disgrace to their family! And they also do not know where that bitch came from, so there is no way for that woman to even think about being with her son.
She won't let a whore take away her son.
Amanda had decided to drive away this woman named Anya.
Amanda did not stay for long and left soon after. She glanced at the man in the bed; his eyes met hers too. She was the first to look away as she turned to leave.
When Amanda was in the car, she pondered everything and went to reminisce.
George and Amanda were once in love. He was the first man she adored. He was a gentleman and refined young man back in the day, and their young selves got into the passion of attraction.
But when they got older, they realized and saw the bigger world. They were both ambitious, with different sights in their mind. And they both knew that they could be much more significant than being together.
So they parted ways to pursue each other's ambitions. Amanda never did regret anything because she loved and enjoyed the power and status that she got. She also accepted that the man would also be with another woman.
She does not have any hate buried inside her; it's just that she also can't forget their past and feelings.
That is why she did all the possible ways so that her husband, Castellano, would ally with George's company. There was once again a connection between them, and they both benefited from what they had in mind when they separated. So, through the past years, they were satisfied.
It was also this reason why she was fond of Veronica. If she would choose who would be her son's wife and Mrs. Castellano, she would rather have someone she can have in her hands and someone she is familiar with and has benefited from.
In that way, her position would still be stable within the Castellanos. Everything was perfect.
But now, someone was trying to break this tranquility. The connection between their families, seducing and bewitching her son, and also taking away the position of the Madame of Castellanos that Amanda had sacrificed for.
If she thinks she could quickly get this position and replace her, then she's wrong. She will make sure to erase that woman from her and her family's path.
