While Anya was within the span of the trip, she didn’t forget to check her grandmother who was in the hospital recuperating. Before this trip, she was transferred to a hospital in France by Damon. Anya wanted reject the idea because of embarrassment but Damon insisted and stated a bunch of medical benefits and enjoyment for her grandmother. And seeing her grandmother’s happiness in the idea, Anya doesn’t have the heart to be a kill joy. So, she could only helplessly agree.
“Grandma, how are you?” Anya asked her grandma in the phone.
“Oh, Anya dear, it is so beautiful in here. Even though I am just inside the hospital, the view here is breath taking! I also take walks in wheelchair often and oh dear, even the gardens are exquisite!” The old woman chattered cheerfully. Anya heard this and smiled. She can’t help but agree that sending her in France was a good idea. Her grandmother hadn’t been this happy for a long time.
“I see grandma. Alright, take care of yourself. I would be visiting you soon.” She said.
Grandma then said a few words of reminders and saying how she missed her. Anya again assured the old woman and their talk ended when it was time for her grandma’s rest.
Anya put down her phone and sipped in her coffee. She is in a restaurant right now and is meeting with Alex again for their business. She got too early and was waiting for him right now.
Not long, Alex arrived. When he saw her waiting in the table, he quickened in his steps. “I’m sorry, I’m late. Did you wait long?” He asked as he took a look in his watch.
Anya smiled and assured the man.
“No, you’re not late. I just got here early. I had a talk with my grandma so I didn’t wait in vain.” Anya said amicable.
Alex eased a bit and sat down in front of her. Anya had a laptop in front of her so he took his own too. They were in a coffee shop ideal for business meeting, so they first talked about business while drinking their coffee.
In the beginning of their meeting, Anya already felt her stomach was weird. She thought maybe it was the coffee so she stopped drinking her cup.
But later in their discussion, her stomach started to ache. Her discomfort was starting to show in her face.
“Are you okay?” Alex noticed Anya’s expression and asked worriedly.
Anya didn’t know if his words were a curse, but after he asked that, her stomach started to writhe in pain. The pain was excruciating that she can’t help but curl up.
“My stomach.. hurts,” She could hardly speak.
Alex stood up abruptly with his chair dragging loudly in the floor. He immediately approached her.
“Let’s go to the hospital.” He decided as he saw sweat forming in her forehead. Anya was brought in the hospital by Alex. He immediately contacted Damon.
Damon in his conference room in the middle of a meeting. When he received Alex’s call, he sensed it was important so he accepted it right there and then.
“Damon, we’re at a hospital. Something’s wrong with Anya’s stomach.” Alex nervously reported.
Damon froze as he took in the news. The next scene was the employees and the one reporting was left staring at Damon rushing out the conference room.
He left in the middle of the meeting to go to the hospital,
When he arrived, he was just in time to see the doctor come out. He immediately went to him and asked.
“Doctor, how is she.” He asked in a rigid voice and his face stiff. The doctor answered without a hitch.
“Nothing is serious now but if she was not rushed immediately then some complications might happen. She had a series of inflammation, maybe cause of contamination or not being used to the food around here. Is she new to the place?” The doctor asked.
“Yes.” Both Damon and Alex answered. The two looked at each other then back to the doctor.
The doctor did not mind this and explained.
“So that’s how it is. Well, we have nothing to worry about now. We have given her medicine for inflammation and digestion. She just needs to finish her IV and she can be discharged. Maybe, tonight.” The doctor said. He gave some prescriptions and Damon accepted it. They thanked the doctor afterwards.
Damon turned to Alex and patted his shoulder.
“Thanks for sending her to the hospital.” Damon thanked Alex.
“No worries, man. No need to thank me, it is a natural thing for me to do.” Alex responded as he glanced at Anya’s room.
Damon nodded and said he would handle it from here on. Alex bid goodbye and took one last glance at the close door of Anya’s room before he left.
Damon went in to Anya’s room and saw her sleeping peacefully in the hospital bed.
He couldn’t explain the nervousness he felt when he received the call and heard that Anya was hospitalize. Without second thought, he directly left his work to go check on her.
Even now, looking at her laying in a hospital bed with an IV injected in her hand, his heart didn’t feel good. He doesn’t want seeing her like this.
He stayed at her room for a long time. He might have stayed until night if he didn’t receive any call about work. He sighed. They were in this place, so he has a lot of
things he needed to take care before going home. Alex’s office was originally here so he decided he would just ask him to look at Anya there is a problem.
After making sure that Anya would receive proper arrangements and leaving his contact to reach him the moment something came up, he left the hospital to head to his branch office.
Anya woke up, she looked around in the white room and the smell of disinfectant was eminent. She knew she was in the hospital.
Just as she got up from the bed, Alex went in with a nurse. He saw that Anya was awake and immediately asked.
“Hey, how are you feeling?” It was just the time for Anya’s IV to ran out. Damon was called by the hospital and was informed of this. He still had work to do so he called Alex to first go to the hospital for Anya.
“I’m fine now. How long did I sleep?” She asked.
“Almost whole day. The medicine made you that way, so don’t worry. Damon had arranged for everything, but he left because of work. He would be here soon, so he called me to be with you first.” Alex explained. He understood Damon’s concern and he too, was concerned for Anya, so he went here without force.
Anya heard this and felt thankful for them. Damon, who wasn’t there when her stomach ache erupted still arranged for her, her heart felt full,
“Thank you.” She sincerely said to Alex.
Alex only smiled. The nurse with them proceeded in taking out the IV for Anya.
Just in time for her to discharge, Damon arrived. He saw Anya out of the room and immediately approach her.
“Are you alright?” He worriedly asked as he placed his hand on her forehead and cheek. Anya blushed at this but still answered.
“I’m already fine. Sorry for worrying you.. and thank you.” She said with her clear blue eyes staring directly at him. Her eyes seemed to carry ripples that draws Damon in. he can’t help but smile helplessly.
“No need to thank me. Just recuperate successfully.” He said gently.
Anya once again assured the two men that she was alright. After processing the discharge, Damon invited the two for dinner.
That’s why the three of them sat in one table in a restaurant.
“The food here is light and clean. Perfect for your stomach, so order what you like.” Damon said.
Anya smiled gratefully and ordered. The two men followed suit. While eating, Alex and Anya talked about their business.
“I think the location here is just right. We should think of the next step.” Alex said as they discussed the probable location for Anya’s branch.
From time to time, Damon gave his opinion.
“Location around the prestigious and prominent buildings will also be good. One should be close to your market. And your designs can also receive a break if you got hold of a building deal.” Damon suggested.
Anya heard this and can’t help but agree.
“I think that’s great. The designs I have been doing are either houses or villas. Designing a building with be a versatile of skills, and I can improve and develop my capacity in that area.” She said as she thought of this deeply. She also wanted to get out of her comfort zone and try something new. Buildings and hotels, if she could have this kind of break, then it will be beneficial for her career.
Damon heard this and was happy that Anya accepted his ideas and suggestions. He put out more suggestions and two considered it greatly.
With that, the people were satisfied and the dinner commenced harmoniously
