It was not long when Ellen got wind of what happened to the company. And the old woman was so aggrieved she almost fainted. She immediately went to the company.
When she arrived, the secretarial department was in chaos. Her heart sank as she hurried to Andrei’s office.
“Madam,” The secretary fearfully greeted.
“Where’s my grandson?” Ellen asked in a stiff voice.
“The president, he, he went out..” The secretary answered in a small voice. Ellen stopped on her track and jolted her head towards her direction.
“What did you say? In this crisis, where is he?” She asked slowly and in a dark voice. The secretary could only lower her head.
Ellen sighed problematically and headed to his office.
“What happened? Give me the reports.” She ordered as she stood in front of the desk. Secretaries immediately gave her documents and reports regarding the problems.
Ellen caught her breath as she saw how the stocks plummeted. A large number of investors also pulled out form their companies!
Her breath hitched as she aggressively tuned pages after pages. After reading so much, the root of the problem was evident. Their major benefactor, the Castellanos, pulled out from their corporation as well as their many subsidies under them!
Ellen threw the papers on the floor and nearly screeched. “How did this happen?!”
No on answered her and only silence prevailed.
She huffed and immediately walked out, planning to go to the Castellanos Group of Company.
“Madame, where are you going?!” A secretary nervously asked.
“Where the hell do you think?! The Castellanos of course, these are all because of them cutting off ties with us!” She answered harshly.
The secretaries looked at each other.
“Madame, the president tried to go, but he was obstructed before he could even enter the company’s building.” Another secretary bravely voiced out.
Ellen was frozen on her track.
“What?” She asked, stupefied. Shoot. This time it is serious.
After hearing the repeated words, Ellen nearly fainted. Her assistant caught her and immediately fanned.
“Madame!” The people around was startled and they immediately led Ellen towards the sofa.
“Madame, drink this,” Someone offered her a drink. Ellen weakly accepted it and gradually calmed down. She needed to think fast if she wanted to save their company.
“Hand me my phone,” She ordered with extended hand. Her assistant immediately handed her the phone.
She was just trying her luck, and called Damon Castellano.
The first call was not answered. Ellen clenched her teeth and kept calling. And on the third call, the phone was finally answered.
“Yes, this is secretary Gabe speaking.” A cold voice sounded from the other line. Ellen was dismayed when she heard it was not Damon, and even a mere secretary dared to give her this tone, but still, at the very least, her call got through.
“This is Ellen Davids. I want to speak to the Mr. Castellano. I want to know what the problem was?” Ellen said in quite a shaking voice.
The cold voice sounded again.
“I’m sorry, but the boss is busy. Whatever you say, you could relay it to me, I will mention it to the president when he has a time.” It was clearly putting the Davidss and the very least priority, and Ellen’s heart was shaken.
Ellen took all these blows and still tried to appease.
“I want to know what made Mr. Castellano dissatisfied. I’m sure we have the right to know. We have an agreement. But I can assure you that we will correct whatever the problem is.” She answered in a huff.
“Noted. Just wait for the further response.” The man answered shortly and the next sound Ellen heard was a beep.
He hanged up at her! She, the Madame of Davidss, needs to stoop low to cater with a mere secretary!
Ellen was so angry she nearly spatted blood.
This stupid grandson, what the hell was he doing!
Ellen and the rest of the members of the Davidss was on edge the whole day. They were mending what could be mend and tried contacting every single investors.
Ellen was so anxious and angry at the same time. Because this good grandson of hers was missing in these crucial times!
She was seriously starting to doubt if handing the company to this prodigal boy was right. Look at him now, a useless fool!
“Where is Andrei?!” She asked angrily at their guards. She had long dispersed men to find her grandson.
“Madame, we found him.” A guard informed Ellen. She immediately stood up and faced the guard.
“Where?”
The guard was reluctant to answer the question. But still, in a hesitating voice, he gave away his boss.
“In a bar..”
Ellen felt her anger exploded as she heard where his ridiculous grandson is loitering in broad daylight.
What the hell does he think his doing?!
She angrily went out to follow after Andrei.
When Ellen was in the car, she was already fuming mad. When suddenly her assistant informed her.
“Madame, an email came from the Castellanos..”
Ellen did not think twice and snatched the phone out of her hold. she quickly read the content.
‘There is major misconduct from the actions of the President of Davids. The Castellanos does not wish to work with such people.’
Ellen suck in her breath as she gripped the phone tightly. So it was her grandson again?! Stupid fool!
With her anger, she threw away the phone, not knowing where it flew. But there is one thing she knew at this moment.
She needed to teach that punk a lesson.
When Ellen arrived at the bar, she saw Andrei surrounded by a bunch of liquors. “Andrei!”
Andrei who was in a daze heard a familiar voice.
“What are you doing? Look at you!” Ellen’s voice rang across the room.
When Andrei finally confirmed the identity of the person, he tiredly rolled his eyes. Ellen saw her grandson’s unguilty expression and became even more angry.
“Oh, so this is how you want it huh? Well, I’ll give it to you.” Ellen said in a laughing but not quite, voice.
“I will take back the post of the president.” Ellen dropped the bomb.
Andrei head jolted up towards his grandmother. He did not expect she would say this. “You’re joking,” He said incredulously.
Ellen heard this and smirked.
“Watch me.” She said to Andrei with finality and turned her back.
When Andrei saw his grandmother leaving, he finally woke up from his stupor. “Grandma! You can’t do this!” He yelled but the old woman walked without turning back.
Therefore, days after, it was known that the President of the Davidss was held back by Ellen.
After arranging things and making sure to appease the Castellanos, they called again. This time, it was answered but it was still the secretary.
Ellen forced herself to smile and greet.
“I want to deliver words to Mr. Castellano. I have the company straightened up, I hope he is open for a negotiation?” She said to the other line.
“The president had heard of it and said he would send a representative for discussion. But still, it depends on your company’s performance.” The secretary said.
Ellen’s eyes brightened.
“Of course! Count on us!” The old woman’s voice held joy and its was eminent.
Gabe hanged up the phone and turned to his boss. “Sir, I’ve already delivered your words.” He reported.
Damon continued to flip the documents on his hands, but there was a smirk playing on the sides of his lips.
Another way of torture is giving hope to someone, even though its futile. While he will just watch them fawn on him as dogs.
An evil glint flashed on Damon’s eyes.
Continue eating the scraps I throw, and let’s see your face in the end when you realize all your work is for nothing.
The man smiled with malice.
