The next day, Anya went to work as usual. She opened her studio and fixed her things a bit.
Not long after she opened it, the bell clinked, a hint someone was entering. She turned back and was about to greet the customer when she saw someone she least expected and if possible, someone she did not want to see at the moment.
It was Damon Castellano. He was holding a beautiful and exquisitely made bouquet in his hands.
"Good morning," He smiled as he entered the studio.
Anya recovered from her surprise and eyed the man. She cooled down the trap and the warmness she felt in her heart when she saw the flowers. She then said in a cold voice.
"What is Mr. Castellano doing here?"
Damon heard the coldness in the woman's voice and immediately became problematic.
He had just started, but it looked like it would end soon because of a confident vile woman.
When he felt his anger coming again, he tried his best to push it down since he was in front of Anya. He does not want her to see an awful side of his.
"I came here to apologize," Damon answered sincerely and apologetically.
Anya again was stunned. It is necessary to understand that people like him, who were born as high as the sky, do not know how to apologize, especially to unimportant people. Even Andrei does not apologize to anyone or even to her whenever he makes mistakes. He would just give her something, coax her, and expects her to be okay again. Anya had imprinted in her mind that that was just how people in that world are, so high that they don't need to ask for validation for anyone.
But now, someone who is even more significant and potent than Andrei is standing in front of her, asking for an apology. From her, Anya. A nobody.
Anya was stunned for a long time until she heard Damon continue.
"I invited you last night, and you experienced something rude instead. I am so sorry." He continued.
When he mentioned it, Anya again remembered Veronica Ambrosia, his fiancé. Her warm heart once again cooled down. Right, he was committed. You must set up the line now, Anya, before more people scorn you.
"Mr. Castellano, I don't know why you need to send things and do this to someone like me. Also, you already have a fiancé. How would you think she would feel? Of course, she would insult and be harsh to me like that because she thinks I am your mistress." Anya said in one breath. She took a deep breath and looked straight at Damon with determination.
Damon saw this and was taken aback.
"Fiancé? Who told you I have a fiancé?" He asked, bewildered. Anya heard this and was doubtful.
"From your fiancé herself, Ms. Ambrosia." She answered truthfully.
When Damon heard this, he felt his mind explode. The woman was shameless! Who does she think she is?!
Damon closed his eyes and took a deep breath, calming himself down. After that, he opened his eyes and went closer to Anya.
"Anya, I don't have a fiancé." He said. Anya was stunned.
"But-"
"That woman was lying. I am personally telling you this. I believe I have not done anything to receive your doubt. I won't lie, and I keep my word." Damon said, also determined.
Anya looked up at the man and studied his face. She also felt someone like him would lie. He does not need to lie, nor does he need to have flowery words thrown at anyone. He was the boss; he would do and say what he wanted.
"Well then, what is your purpose in coming here?" She asked as she looked at the flowers. Damon handed it to her, and now, she finally accepted it.
"Well, there was someone I wanted you to meet last night. He was the protagonist of yesterday's party, my son." Damon said.
Anya was again surprised.
"Your son?!" she exclaimed.
"Don't get me wrong; I am a single dad. I did not accept Ms. Ambrosia because she is a vile and scheming woman; she is not good for my son." He explained while sprinkling a little lie. Well, it isn't a lie; he was a single dad.
Anya heard this and choked. Well, she could personally see that as well. A man who is sharp as a hawk won't let pass someone as suspicious as Veronica Ambrosia.
"Well, I did not meet him yesterday," Anya said. Damon smiled and offered.
"Well, do you want to meet him now?"
Anya did not understand, but she felt as if. She strangely wanted to meet this little guy. She nodded unconsciously, and when Damon saw this, he smiled more.
"Well, let's go, if you don't mind." Damon instantly said. Anya was startled by her stupor and realized she had agreed impulsively to Damon's offer. But she could not go back as Damon headed to the door and held it open for her, waiting.
Anya bit her teeth and took her bag as she went outside.
Damon then had a successful and satisfied smile on his face.
Damon was driving to his own house. Last night out of spite, he took his son and went back to his own home. Now, he decided for the mother and child to meet.
He did not understand why, but he felt nervous and had a more vivid feeling.
Anticipation. He was excited for them to meet; the image he was dreaming of and seeing ever since he met Anya would finally happen, her and his son together, looking at each other.
On the other side, Anya also felt nervous. She does not know why. She was just meeting a child! But she also does not know how she was seated in Damon Castellano's car and headed to his house. Things were going way too fast, and she did not know how to cope. She just goes along the flow.
When they arrived, Damon led Anya to the garden, where Allen played with his nanny. When they approached, he immediately scooped up the little guy.
"This is my son, Mon." Damon introduced Anya to him. Anya stared at the boy and felt like she had seen him before. Was he the boy from the hospital? But that boy was crying so she couldn't see his appearance correctly, only his big blue eyes. Just like the child right here.
She stared straight at him and felt something hit her heart.
The boy stretched his arms at her, and Damon also leaned the baby to her. Anya took the boy into her arms and hugged him.
The boy looked up at her, and his cute and lovable voice said, "Mommy,"
Anya felt she could not breathe. She thought she was looking at her own son's eyes. She felt sad after. Her son would be just as big as this baby boy here. Her eyes swelled with tears lightly as she smiled at the little boy.
"Hi, baby," Anya's soft voice gently said.
Damon, who was watching the situation, was caught in a daze. The two figures, one prominent and one small, were looking at each other with a smile. There was a warm feeling in his heart.
When suddenly, the two looked at them at the same time. He felt his heart was stolen. Two pairs of bright blue eyes stared at him simultaneously with a smile on their lips. It was so beautiful that he could hardly breathe.
It was the first time he saw something as beautiful as this, making him believe in the color and beauty of life.
