Billionaire Love Affair with the Surrogate

Thirty-Four

Ch. 34 / 153 Mar 13, 2026

Anya was on the verge of turning her back and walking out of the scene when a tall and mighty man stepped in front of her.

"Auntie! Calm down. It was me who brought her here." Adam said and tried to appease the situation. He had a stiff smile, but he was cursing inside. When Damon told him to watch over this woman named "Anya," he did not expect to have much trouble. So this was the need to watch over.

"Adam? You're with this woman?" Amanda said doubtfully. She knew Adam's prominent position in society, as well as his friendship with her son, so she did not hesitate to give him respect.

Adam heard this and turned to Anya. She saw an innocent and beautiful woman dressed in white. He finally understood Damon. A girl like her was rare in this world full of evil females.

He glanced at Veronica and explained.

"Yes, Auntie. And I would not dare bring anyone who would stain and ruin your party, won't I? I'm sure what Ms. Ambrosia is saying is just a misunderstanding," He explained. Between him and Veronica, he knew he would be the one to be believed in the most.

Amanda saw this and calmed down. She looked around and tried to appease the situation.

"Well, everyone. It looks like everything was just a misunderstanding! Well, let's continue the party and enjoy." She said with a stiff laugh and gave one last look at Anya. Next, she eyed Veronica and whispered to her.

"I will talk to you later," She said with a tight voice. Veronica was quite nervous. Oh, no. did she anger Amanda? No, she was the only one she could latch on to approach Damon.

So for the rest of the party, Veronica tried her best to fawn and tend to Amanda. She was carrying and backing her up with lots of praise and took care of the middle-aged woman's food—all for the glory and prestige of the Castellanos.

Veronica gritted her teeth and tried to bear with all of this.

When the crowd, who was eavesdropping on the whole situation, finally dispersed, Anya breathed a sigh of relief. Adam heard this and turned back to Anya.

"Are you fine?" Adam asked concernedly.

Anya looked at the man who helped her. He was a tall and imposing man with quite a rough face, but his muscular body told her he was mighty with a great position. He assumed he was a soldier?

Anya smiled at the man.

"Thank you for just now. Uhm, I was wrong going here. I will just go home. Thank you again." She said softly.

Adam heard the soft voice, and looking at Anya's gentle and delicate face, he could not help but want to help her.

"Well, let me send you home. Damon told me you were coming and asked me to watch over you. He just needed to attend to something, so if you could, you should wait for him to come back." He explained.

Anya was surprised. Was it Damon? She was once again taken aback by his attentiveness. He arranged all of this for her.

But remembering the humiliation and insults she had just received, even though she wanted to thank him, there was nothing more she wanted to do now than go home.

"Uhm, I appreciate his thoughts, but I want to go home now," Anya said as she rubbed her hands to her arms.

Adam saw this and knew she was utterly comfortable with the situation, so he let it go.

"I understand. But let me send you home; he told me to take care of you. And also, don't be afraid. I am from a security agency. I would protect you and cause you no harm." Adam said and showed her his badge.

Anya saw this and immediately knew her past conjecture was close to accurate. This was a man of the people and the country.

Anya smiled at him.

"Well then, thank you." She said sincerely. Adam then sent Anya back home.

Damon was rushing toward the mansion the moment he had finished his work. When he entered, he saw his secretary in the foyer.

"Did my visitor already arrive?" Damon asked while continuing to walk toward the insides of the mansion.

The secretary was long anxious since Anya left, and when he heard his boss' question, he swallowed and explained nervously.

"She already left." He said in one go.

Damon froze from his track and asked incredulously.

"She left? What happened?" He asked with a dark face.

The secretary was having difficulty finding what to say when a voice rang.

"She left because she probably felt humiliated," Veronica said as she approached Damon.

Damon immediately turned back to see who it was. It turns out it was Veronica Ambrosia.

Damon's face darkened even more as he dismissed his secretary. He faced Veronica properly.

"What do you mean, Ms. Ambrosia?" He asked with a cold voice.

"Why wouldn't she shy away? She does not belong and suits this world. How could she dream so high?" Veronica said mockingly.

"Tell me, Damon, is she why you can't accept me? Is she the one telling you to push me away?!" Veronica exclaimed as she asked Damon.

Damon sneered as he laughed at her absurd words.

"I wonder what made Ms. Ambrosia think I am interested in you?" He said without second taught.

Veronica nearly choked with his words.

"No one is telling me what I need or should do. And no one can even try. Even my mother. So I advise you to stop your delusions because I have never put you in my eyes once." He said as he walked past her, giving her nothing but coldness.

Veronica stood there feeling like she was slapped in the face. Damon stopped slightly and added.

"Also, Anya had nothing to do with this. Watch your actions and limitations. My patience is not that much." He said and finally walked away.

His voice was so cold and held danger within them. She shivered in fear. And slowly, her tears fell.

Why? Why can't he accept her?! She tried everything! She sobbed as she ran back to Amanda.

Amanda was in the resting lounge when it burst, and Veronica came in crying.

"Veronica?! What's going on?" She asked immediately as she saw the pitiful state of the woman.

"Auntie, Damon he," Veronica pitifully sniffed as she cried and complained to Amanda.
