After Anya and Marie drank the night away, Anya slept with a heavy heart.
When she woke up, she was feeling dread. She sighed and went to sleep again. She felt unmotivated by the world.
When it was noon, she was shaken awake and she opened her eyes. She saw her best friend angrily scolding her.
“What?! Are you gonna act dead now?!” Marie said angrily. Dissatisfied as she saw Anya’s state, who seems like wanting to quit.
“Are you just going to give up like that?! That is not the Anya I know,” Marie lamented.
Anya rubbed her eyes and buried her face in the pillow.
“I just don’t want to do anything today,” She answered tiredly.
Marie stared at her best friend and sighed. She knew how devastated and tired Anya felt right now. So could say I few more comforting words before she left Anya to have her time alone.
When Marie left, Anya still lay in bed for a long time, but she could not fall asleep anymore.
Her thoughts drifted back to the studio she had worked hard so much and was just destroyed. And then to the man who caused all of this but came back begging for her.
How did he know about the surrogacy? Did he finally realize he was wrong?
But sadly, the moment had been a long waiting for come, but she could not feel anything for him anymore.
She planned to loiter around her apartment all day when the phone that she pushed aside for the whole day was bombarded with notifications. Even though she didn’t want to check it, but the constant notification bothered her.
She sighed and went to get it.
When she opened her phone, she saw a bunch of messages.
Andrei’s messages were mixed with also a pile of messages from her clients. She saw this and felt a headache.
No matter how much she wanted to give up and take a break, many of these clients had bounded her into a contract.
The world won’t stop for her. That is just the reality.
When she pondered this, she made up her mind to go to the studio. She planned just to take her designs that could be feasible and all the materials that she needed. She would just work in her apartment. She can’t stay in a ruined studio.
When Anya remembered the state of her studio, she tried to brush it off and decided that she would deal with this when she is in a better mood.
Anya finally moved and got ready to leave. It was already in the afternoon, but Anya is just starting her day. She put on whatever her hands got out of the closet and changed.
She took her bag and went out with a down spirit.
When Anya arrived at her studio, she was absolutely surprised. She was frozen in place as she saw the insides of her studio.
Her studio felt like it was brought to normal. Like that day did not happen. The glasses were fixed and replaced and the studio was clean.
She walked around, and she could barely believe her eyes. Her studio was really put back to its state. Her design remained, but it became better and as exquisite as ever.
She walked to her desk and saw all of her designs, all of them even the one that was ruined. The one who cleaned this was careful enough not to throw anything that might be important.
Anya was bewildered about this. Who did this?
When suddenly, the bell rang from her door, and she was startled. She went to the entrance hurriedly.
Outside, there was a delivery guy with a large bouquet of flowers in his hands.
“Good afternoon, Ma’am. A delivery for Mrs. Anya Davids?” The delivery guy said and handed her a paper to sign.
She was frozen when she heard the title. Only one person would be shameless to still call her by that last name.
Anya looked at the sender and really saw Andrei’s name. Anya gritted her teeth and pushed the paper away lightly.
“I am sorry, I am not Mrs. Davids.” She answered the man coldly. The man heard this and became problematic.
“But, ma’am, this is the right address.” The man said and tried to explain.
“No, I am not in the position to receive this. I will compensate you, but you would need to return it to whoever sent that. This is all I could offer.” Anya said. Although she did not want to receive the flowers, she didn’t want to create a problem for the delivery guy. He was just doing his job. And she was sure Andrei would be furious and would be petty enough to make a hard time for this poor guy.
The guy accepted Anya’s offer and left.
Anya felt bad and looked once again at the insides of her studio.
She took out her phone with shaking hands. She contacted the maintenance of the whole commercial building.
When it was picked up, she immediately said her purpose.
“Good afternoon, I am the owner of office number 163 on the ground floor. Uhm, I was wondering, was there someone who came to it and fixed my studio?” Anya asked, white chewing her lower lip.
“Yes, ma’am. It was reported to us that someone broke in and caused havoc in your studio. So, a designing company went to fix your place.” She said.
Anya was surprised. Someone ordered to fix her studio? Anya began to have doubts.
“Uhm, is it perhaps the man who broke into my studio who did this?” Anya anxiously asked. Because if he did, she would be disgusted and be troubled by it.
“No, ma’am. That man was now banned to enter our district, it was ordered by a higher-up.”
Anya was even more surprised. Was Andrei banned?
“Who did these?” Anya can’t help but blurt out the question.
“I am sorry, ma’am. But everything was just arranged, and only the higher-ups know all the things happening in and out of our district.” The woman on the other line apologetically said.
Anya heard this and felt like she could do nothing in trying to pry about this matter. So, she said her thanks and ended the call.
Anya stared at her studio once again and pondered. Just who is this powerful person?
Damon sat in his office and read the report.
He was satisfied as his orders were executed quickly.
He read about how Andrei gave flowers to Anya, but she rejected it and was even more delighted.
He took his phone and dialed a number, his first time dialing hers. It rang, and it was then picked up.
“Hello?” A sweet voice came out from the other line. It was different from the coquettish and fawning voice of women he knew. It was a naturally sweet and melodic voice that could warm someone’s heart.
He cleared his voice and spoke.
“Is this Anya? How is your current situation?” He said as he played with his pen and anticipated her words. He liked the sound of her voice.
“Uhm, what do you mean? Who is this?” She said with doubt in her voice.
“I heard you accepted a surrogacy and after was scorned by the Davids.” He said, not answering her questions.
“What? I did not remember telling anyone that?” Anya’s voice quivered slightly as nervousness slightly tinged her voice.
“You did. I would be there to meet you,” Damon answered with a slight smile on his lips. He felt that Anya’s next words would be rejection, so he hung up the phone.
He leaned back in his chair and thought quietly.
He was greatly angered about what happened to Anya’s studio, and he knew just how hard she worked for it. So, he just helped her a little bit.
But, as he was doing this, he felt these feelings becoming stronger and more and more raw. He slowly realized and acknowledged these feelings.
He liked Anya.
He admired her. Her beauty, strength, and heart. All of these were like a breath of fresh air for Damon he couldn’t help being drawn to her more.
And as these feelings grew, his desire to see her became even more apparent. Until he decided it was time to see her.
Anya, I will come and see you.
