Billionaire Love Affair with the Surrogate

Twenty-Two

Ch. 22 / 153 Mar 13, 2026

Damon woke up in the first break of dawn. He usually woke up early, as his time starts even before his employees could even wake up.

He freshened up and took a shower. He liked cleanliness, so he would usually bathe two times a week.

After his morning shower, he stood in front of the bathroom sink and took his shaving cream. He applied an ample amount on his face and shaved his growing stubble. After that, he wiped it with a clean towel, and the man was as clean and handsome as an international model. He had a good physique and body, with regularly trained muscles.

He is rich, tall, manly, and handsome. He was the perfect man as people would describe him. This was the very reason why he felt constrained all his life.

Because he was Damon Castellano. The perfect man.

As a result, he grew up at this age with cautiousness and a wall around him.

Damon went out of the bathroom and into his closet. He took a three-piece suit and put it on. He was fixing his cufflinks when his phone rang. Early morning, but work never rests. He answered his phone as he put on his shoe.

He just brought and held his tie in his hands and hung his coat in his arms as he went out of his room. He went straight to his son’s bedroom. Every day, before going to work, he would drop by and visit the little boy.

He had a nanny to take care of his son and was the one who would facilitate their gadget call whenever he was at work, so he could still see his son.

When he arrived at the room, he gently opened it and went inside. The room was decorated to suit a child’s taste.

He approached his bed and saw his son’s sleeping face. He was wearing a hand mitten that could hardly fit his hands anymore because he had it since he was born.

It was a single mitten that is missing a pair.

When he took his son from the nursery, he left directly and left the things that needed to be taken care of to his assistant. When he arrived at the car and looked closely at his son, it was only then that he noticed he was missing a mitten.

The mitten he was wearing was special, it was a color blue woolen glove. But what made it special because there was a name engraved in it.

Allen.

Damon thought this was probably made by the surrogate.

Maybe it was respect. Or the last favor and right he would give to the one who mothered his child. Or that he also liked the name, the took it and named his son as so.

Allen Castellano.

That is how he got his name.

He never mentioned to him that this mitten was from his mother, but strangely, the baby boy was very fond of this mitten and would sleep while wearing it on.

Maybe, a mother and child’s bond is that strong.

Damon sighed as he rubbed his son’s head. But he was startled as he felt his high temperature.

The little boy was burning with fever!

Damon immediately carried the boy in his arms and took out his phone.

“Prepare the car, we are going to the hospital,” he said to his driver in the other line. He hurriedly went down but was careful not to startle the little boy.

The nanny saw the master hurriedly going down the stairs while carrying the young master.

“Sir, what’s the matter?” She asked worriedly.

“Prepare the child’s things. He has a fever, and I will take him to the hospital. You follow after, I will send for a car,” Damon answered without stopping on his track. The nanny heard this and immediately went to the child’s room and packed his things.

Damon entered the car, and I swiftly went on my way to the hospital. Damon caressed his son’s hair and stared at him worriedly.

When they arrived at the hospital, Damon rushed in, carrying Allen. The doctor immediately accommodated them and checked the child. His mitten has inserted an IV and has done some tests. After this, the doctor spoke with Damon as Allen was transferred to a room.

“The child has a fever, also a mild cold.” The doctor explained. Damon’s eyes darkened.

“What is the reason?” He asked the doctor. And just before he was thinking of finding a new nanny, the doctor explained.

“This is normal. The child is growing his teeth. Seems like it came out late, and now he is growing a total of seven teeth, it would be painful and numbing for a child. There is also a possibility of having a fever.” The doctor explained as he saw the father’s dark face.

When Damon heard this, he calmed down a little. Oh, the little boy was growing his teeth.

“He could stay in the hospital for a day to monitor him. and if nothing serious comes up, he could go home.” The doctor said. Damon agreed to him. the doctor then prescribed some medicines. Damon thanked the doctor and handed the prescriptions to his secretary.

As the doctor excused himself, he went straight to his son.

He saw that he was no longer sweating, and his sleeping face was now more peaceful. He sighed as he caressed his cheeks.

His phone vibrated in his pocket. He took it out and answered it. Turns out there is an important document and meeting he needs to attend to. Damon hated to leave his son here, but he had no choice. He ordered Gabe, his most trusted and head secretary, to stay and monitor his son. He then left after giving his orders.

After that, the nanny of, the child came. She took over, but Gabe still stayed to guard the little master.

Later that day, and coincidently, Anya was also visiting her Grandmother.

The nanny was out to make lunch for the little master, as the rations in the hospital would not suit his taste. Gabe was left to watch over Allen.

His phone vibrated. He glanced at the little master, thinking that the call might disturb him, and he went out before accepting the call. He planned it to be quick, so he left the door open so he could glance inside from time to time.

But the business was quite complicated, and he was lost in the conversation. He did not notice that the little boy had woken up.

Waking up in an unknown room without his daddy and nanny, the child whimpered, and gradually he cried out loud.

It was at the same time as Anya was passing by. She heard a heart-wrenching cry from a little baby boy that she couldn’t help and turn at inside the room.

There lies a little boy about one or two years old, pitifully crying alone in the large hospital bed. He was sobbing, and his delicate white face was stained with tears, and his cheeks flushed pink.

He turned to the door and saw a woman standing. The baby boy raised his little hand towards the door and to the woman.

Anya saw this, and her heart ached.

It was at this time that Gabe finally heard Allen's cry. He was startled and immediately went back to the room. But he was taken aback by the person standing in front of the door.

Anya, the one he offered surrogacy two years ago per his boss’ orders. He started to get nervous. Would Anya recognize him? He was at a lost for what to do. He could not walk out and leave the young master.

Anya was about to approach the child when she noticed Gabe. She turned to him and looked at his face.

Anya felt he was familiar, but she could not grasp where she saw her. But she did not dwell so much on this because the child inside the room was already crying so much.

“Are you the baby’s dad?” She asked.

Gabe froze when Anya talked to him. she did not recognize him.

He glanced at the child in the room and pondered whether he should claim he was the dad? But before she could answer, Anya had already reprimanded him.

“Why are you still not going inside to take care of him? He is crying so much.” She said. Gabe was then alerted and did not think of anything and went to coax the little master.

Anya stared at the scenario in front of him. The baby calmed down a little, and he was not opening his two big eyes.

They have a bright blue color. Anya felt a strange feeling she was staring at her very own eyes.

There is something stirring in her heart, whispering something to her. Like he was her child.

Her heart jumped. She stared at the little boy, his milky skin and rosy cheeks. He was so cute but what one could notice clearly was that big blue eyes. Eyes that were so familiar to her. Eyes that she had stared at the mirror from she was a child herself. She was lost in the moment, and she felt she and the little baby was the only one in the world.

When suddenly, someone tapped her on the shoulder. She jolted and turned towards the one who was calling her.

It was a nurse, and it seemed she had been calling her for a while now.

“Ms. Anya, Doctor Adams is ready for your appointment regarding your grandmother’s condition. Shall I show you the way?” the nurse said. Anya then woke up from her absurd dream and thought.

What would be the odds of meeting her son? She guessed it was impossible.

So she shook her thoughts and followed the nurse. But at the last moment, she gave the child her last glance.

She was surprised to see him staring back at her.

Anya smiled gently at the little boy and turned her back. She felt like she should. Because she felt if she stayed, she would still that cute boy away.

Gabe was patting and coaxing the young master inside the room. When he turned to look at the door, he found out that Anya was already gone.

He has complex feelings. He doesn’t know whether to be relieved or bothered. It was then that the nanny who left for lunch finally came back.

Allen was still silently crying, still not comfortable. He knows Gabe, but the child is still more fond of his daddy and in addition, her nanny.

“Nyyy~” The child pouted and called.

“Oh, is little Allen awake? Were you scared?” The Nanny said as she saw the crying face of the child. She was named Mary, and she was a forty-five-year-old lady that

Damon hired to take care of his son. Mary was used to caring for children, so she did not think there was a problem working as a nanny at her age.

The little boy whimpered while rubbing his little hand. Mary instantly knew what the boy wanted.

“Oh, you’re looking for your mitten. Here, here, the nanny will put it for you.” She took out the mitten that was removed from the boy when he was inserted into an IV. She put in on the boy’s other hand and smiled at him.

“Better?” She asked.

The child sniffed and nodded.

Mary’s smile grew brighter, and moved to prepare for lunch. He looked at the tall man that was with them in the room.

“Sir Gabe, would you like to eat?” She offered.

Gabe was staring at the mitten in the boy’s hand. He did not know if it was good that he was not wearing it when he met his mother just know.

He sighed at the complicated like if this family. He turned to the nanny and nodded his head.

Anya and the doctor finished talking after a while. They went out while the doctor was still giving her updates on her mother’s health. When they arrived in the hallway, Anya’s eyes flew to the room of the little boy she had seen a while ago. But the doctor has a scheduled check-up with her grandmother right now, so she abandoned her idea to sneak a peek at the cute boy and accompany the doctor to her grandmother’s room.

After the doctor’s check-up, he finally announced that her grandmother was no longer in danger. She was just transferred to a regular room today, and Anya brought essential things for her grandmother. She was still asleep and the doctor assured her that she would wake up today or tomorrow.

Anya thanked the doctor. After the doctor left, Anya sat beside her grandma and stared at her face for a moment.

She took a damp towel and wiped her grandma’s face, arms, and legs. After that, she covered her comfortably with the sheets.

Anya sat and rested for a while before she decided to go home. She whispered her goodbye to her grandma and left the hospital room.

When she arrived at the hospital's lobby, she was looking at the little booklet she had for her grandmother’s medication. The hospital was quite busy since it was four in the afternoon, and most people were dismissed. She stopped reading since she was bumping into people along the way, so she clumsily put the booklet back in her bag.

But unfortunately, the booklet did not land on her bag but continuously dropped to the floor. She tried to pick it up, but people kept walking her way.

When suddenly, a large hand picked up the booklet from the floor. She turned to her side to face the man and stared at his face.

The man was handsome and tall. The hand that was handing her the booklet had an expensive watch on his wrist. She took the booklet from him and faced him.

She smiled. “Thank you,” Anya expressed her gratitude.

Damon stood there facing the woman, her bright blue eyes were staring straight into his own, and her red lips carried a smile. It was the same as the countless vision he had from the moment he first met her.

But what he did not anticipate was the loud thump in his heart. He stood dare just staring at her.

Anya found it quite weird, but still, she politely nodded her head and turned to walk away. She called for a cab and entered the vehicle.

Maybe it was reflex, but she turned her head back at the hospital’s entrance.

And in there still stood the man who had just helped her. She couldn’t help but also stare at him, their gaze just breaking when the car drove off.

Damon stood and watched the leaving cab. The image of her smile and blue eyes staring at him still lingered in his mind.

He chuckled.

Really woman? What are you doing to me?
