After Divorce: Loved by the Secret Billionaire CEO

Chapter 26 This guy has a girlfriend

Ch. 26 / 155 Apr 28, 2026

Rachel's POV

I turned immediately to face him.

He was wearing an apron... a fucking apron.

His eyes caught mine and I struggled to remove my gaze from him.

"What do you have there?" I asked with an awkward smile looking everywhere around the room but directly at him.

'Why are you wearing an apron? Did you cook this by yourself?' I wanted so badly to ask him those questions, but I bit my lips to hold them back.

"Since you had nothing to eat yesterday, I just wanted to make sure you ate before leaving the house... You know just boyfriend duty."

Boyfriend?

I rolled my eyes at his words.

That was fast.

"I thought we were only dating in the eyes of the public; what's with the doting boyfriend act?" I asked amid my laughter.

Ethan shrugged.

"I'm practicing... For my girlfriend." He answered taking in my outfit.

The way he was looking at me made me self-conscious, and I shivered under his gaze.

Wait a second... This guy has a girlfriend?

"You... You have a girlfriend?" I asked awkwardly.

If he had a girlfriend why the hell did he agree to this... Does his girlfriend know?

Ethan dropped the tray in his hands on the bed before walking towards me.

"Maybe... Not yet. He answered with a smile that tempted me to return with mine..

" Er..."

Ethan stared at me, a gentle smirk dancing on his lips.

Why is he looking at me like this?

"Em... Er..." Shit. He was getting too close to me, too close.

"What... What do have there?" I skillfully dodged him before going to check the tray on the bed.

The pleasant aroma of food hit my nose the moment I lifted the cover on the tray.

"Wow..."

It was amazing, there were different types of food.

I turned to look at him; the surprise was evident on my face.

"Did you make this?" I asked him pointing at the tray on the bed.

Ethan smirked crossing his hands on his chest.

"Maybe..."

Maybe? Maybe!

This guy can cook?

I looked back at the tray, then at Ethan, then at the tray again, and back at Ethan.

Ethan chuckled at my actions.

He found it funny, but I didn't. Instead, it was shocking.

This was the first time I saw a guy that could cook.

I bent down to sit in the bed before taking a spoonful of one of the delicacies in front of me.

My eyes widened as the first spoon entered my mouth. I was unsure the taste was real, so I took another one immediately.

"Hmmm." I moaned in satisfaction.

It was delicious.

Really delicious.

I looked back at him in surprise. He still had the amused smirk on his face. He was taking pleasure in seeing me so surprised.

"How do you..." I paused. That was not the right way to put the question.

"Where did you..." I stopped again.

Even if he told me where I would never understand it.

"Who taught you how to cook?" I asked at last.

" My mum and Aunt Victoria". He answered walking up to me. He stood directly behind me watching me eat.

I was sitting on the bed, and he was standing right behind me; because of how high the bed I was sitting in was, I was about the same height as Ethan's shoulder.

I pretended not to be affected by his closeness as I picked up the teacup on the tray and slowly took a sip out of it.

Delicious.

He even knew how to make tea.

David never knew how to do anything at all. The only thing he did was to go to the office and travel for business trips. But those business trips were probably fake and just an excuse to see Lana. He was terrible at running his company, too, without his father, he would be practically nothing...

My eyes widened when I realized what I was doing.

I was comparing David to Ethan... Again.

"Do you like it?"

His voice sounded so hoarse and sexy especially since he was behind me.

"Er..." I shifted uncomfortably on the bed.

Do I like it?

"No... I love it. You're a really good cook."

He's rich, handsome and he knows how to cook. Whoever his girlfriend might be would be very lucky.

My phone suddenly rang interrupting my thoughts.

I stood up from the bed and searched around the room for a while before spotting the phone on the dresser.

I checked the ID caller and a smile came to my face.

"Good morning Marina,"

"Good morning, my lovely friend. I would ask you how you were, but your voice tells me that you're good so I'll save my question". Marina said with a soft giggle.

"Yes, you're right. I'm good". I answered, turning back to look at Ethan, who was now seated on the bed.

He returned my gaze with a smile which made me immediately look away, my cheeks hot because of embarrassment.

"Why aren't you saying anything... Or did I interrupt something..." Marina teased making my hot cheeks even hotter.

"Marina..."

"Fine fine. I just wanted to remind you of the meeting today with all the directors. Have you changed your mind about partaking in the show? Or..."

My smile disappeared, replaced by a mischievous smirk.

"I can't change my mind. I'll explain everything to you at the meeting."

"Okay... Be here in two hours." Marina said before ending the call.

"Who was that?" Ethan asked me I dropped my phone.

"Marina. She said I should be there in two hours, so I got to go."

I answered picking up my purse from the dresser before turning back to look at him.

"Don't you want to eat more?"

I glanced at the tray filled with delicious food.

Ah... It would pain me to leave the food behind, but I have no choice.

"I'll just have something to eat later. Thank you, Ethan." He was just too nice, too good for me, way too good.

He nodded before taking out his phone to make a call.

"Get the car ready; you're taking Rachel out," I heard him say over the phone.

He said something else to the person over the phone before he ended it.

Who is he calling? I wondered.

"Is that John?"

He nodded before standing up from the bed.

"If anything happens, anything at all, call me."

I nodded.

But I doubted anything else would happen. Lana had literally taken everything away from me; there was nothing else she could do that would surprise me, at least not to the point of me crying.

There is no way I'm crying over that bitch ever again.

My eyes locked on Ethan's. I had never met anyone with blue eyes like his, it was so easy to get lost in them. There were multiple, millions of emotions swimming in them, but the fantastic thing was that I wasn't able to identify which was which. The only one emotion I could really name was care.

He cared for me.

"Thank you Ethan, for everything." I whispered to him before picking up my purse and walking away.

Apart from the was meeting that was going to happen between the director and the actors of the show, I was to make an appearance today because of the photo shoot we we're having later after the meeting.

I was going to meet Lana again, but this time...

A wicked smirk adorned my face as I entered the car through the door John had just opened for me.

I'm ready for her.
