Chapter 49 Oh that's easy, you

Ethan's POV

Since Rachel asked me to decide where we should go, I picked the park which was just a few miles from here.

It was one of my favorite places to go when I was in England, so I decided to take her there, unsure of how she would react. Rachel's eyes widened when she saw the place, and I was proud of myself for thinking of bringing her here.

It was the Geraldine Garden one of the most beautiful and serene place in the whole of England, the place was covered in beautiful trees of different types, with two water bodies, a beautiful lake with a natural water fall, and a small pond with a water fountain and a few swans flying around.

I loved the excited look on Rachel's eyes when she saw the the swans, she acted like a little girl the entire day pointing to different structures and animals. When she saw the water fall, her mouth almost dropped.

I admit it was a good place to think, especially because there were few people in the garden since it was entry by card only... But seeing the excitement in Rachel's eyes made me love the place even more.

After a few hours of roaming about the garden, we finally stopped at a bench and sat down.

"So, do you like it?" I asked watching her watch the garden.

Rachel nodded absentmindedly, still looking at the garden.

My brows furred as I traced her line of sight. She was looking at a family of three, mother, father and a little girl wander around the garden, with the little girl pointing at every single structure, just like what Rachel did when we first got here.

But as much as the garden was beautiful and mystical, the woman in front of me was way more beautiful, but she wasn't even giving me any attention.

My smile turned to a scowl as I watched Rachel ignore me because of the garden.

"So, is the garden that pretty?" I asked crossing my hands on my chest, feeling left out. Rachel turned to face me, but I immediately turned my neck to look the other way.

I know it looked funny, but that was just how I was feeling at the moment.

I heard Rachel giggle, before she answered "It really is..." She said.

I snorted feeling even more annoyed until I heard hee next words. "Thank you for bringing me here, heavens knows how much I needed the peace and quiet."

My resolve melted as I heard her sweet soft voice. A small smile appeared on my lips, but I don't know why I kept looking away, but without any anger or annoyance.

Peace and quiet? It was quite the opposite she had been doing since we came here. The only peace and quiet she did was when she sat down on the bench. Could there have been something bothering her?

"Ethan?" Her soft voice called and I was tempted to turn around to face her.

"You know, even with the beauty of this place... I still think it can't compare to you..."

I unconsciously turned around to face her, my heart beating widely in my chest. Her expression was so serious, it caught me by surprise.

Then she suddenly burst out laughing pointing at my face..."That's what I would have said, if you were anymore handsome, but for now... This view is way better." She said in midst of her chuckles.

I snorted looking away from her again.

Despite my annoyed expression, my heart still surged with joy because of what she said.

"Ethan come on, it was just a joke". She said hitting my hand playfully.

For a second there I actually thought she meant what she said, I thought she may feel the same way I feel for her... But it was a joke.

She picked the right profession, she was really good at acting. She made me feel a lot of things, but sometimes if all felt fake, it all felt like an act.

"Hey...I was just making fun, of course I think you're handsome, way more than bastard David."

I turned back slightly to look at her. "Ok, if you were to choose between me and the garden?"

"Oh, that's easy, you" She answered bluntly.

I snapped my head towards her,

Did she just say me?

"Why?"

"The garden is peaceful and magical and beautiful, but any one could get in her and turn the entire place upside down in less than a few minutes, while you unlike the garden I feel safe with you." She stated looking into my eyes. I didn't even care only picked me because of what I could offer her, if I could I'd give her the entire world.

I felt the rapid change in my heart beat as I stared at her beautiful green eyes, which drew me in.

She was the first person I ever saw with green eyes, that was one of the many things that fascinated me about her... That made me want to know her.

I leaned in slowly, my eyes still holding hers. I felt her lean in also, and I held my breath.

"Sister... You are beautiful!" Rachel immediately pulled away from me when she saw the little girl who just ruined my chance to kiss her.

It was the same little girl who was part of the family of three Rachel had just been watching. She had her shoulder length hair tied into two high ponytails that bounced on her head, her face was round with two cute dimples on both sides of her cheeks which showed even more wherever she smiled.

She was cute... But she just interrupted me, so I glared at her.

"Thank you, and I think you look really cute." Rachel answered back with a smile.

She was about to say something else when she noticed my glare and shuddered.

"What... What is it?" Rachel asked with concern before tracing the girl's eyes to meet me.

I immediately looked away, whistling, pretending like I was looking at the trees.

"Ethan?"

Rachel narrowed her eyes at me before looking at the little girl. "What's your name?" She asked nicely.

"Jasmine." The girl answered still very terrified.

"Ok Jasmine, I think your parents are looking for you." Rachel said pointing to the couple who were walking towards us.

I looked away from the girl which made her tensed body relax.

Er... I couldn't blame her, I was literally boring holes into her with my glare.

"Yeah... I just wanted to tell you that you're beautiful." Jasmine said with a smile that highlighted her deep dimples.

"Bye..." She waved running back to her parents with her ponytails bouncing behind her.

"She's cute." Rachel said after Jasmine was gone, still looking at the direction she and her parents took.

"It would be nice to have a daughter like that." She said again and a smile came to my lips.

'I would also like to have a daughter that looked just like you' I said inwardly staring at her, then Rachel suddenly looked towards me catching my gaze on her.

I looked away with an awkward cough to hide my embarrassment.

What was so even embarrassing?! I screamed inwardly, but my cheeks redden nevertheless.

Rachel smiled grew wider as she stared at me "So what do you want to know about me?"
