Chapter 41 Get back with her

Ch. 40 / 155 Apr 28, 2026

Third person's POV

"David's anger erupted as he stormed into the hotel room, his face red with rage. "How dare she talk to me like that!" he bellowed, slamming the door behind him.

Lana, who had been walking behind him, tried to calm him down. "David, please, you have to calm down," she said, placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.

But David shook her off violently, his eyes blazing with fury. "This is all your fault, Lana!" he thundered, his finger jabbing accusingly at her. "If you hadn't convinced me to attend that charity gala, I wouldn't have run into Rachel and those people she hired to deceive me!"

Lana shook her head. "How is this my fault? How was I to know that Rachel moved on from you so quickly?" David's anger increased rapidly. How dare she say that! He raised his hands to Lana's neck and began squeezing. "Let me go!" she begged desperately, trying to remove his hands from her neck so she could breathe properly, but her small hands had little effect on his strong hold.

"Say that again, I dare you!" After a while, David let her go, and she fell with a sharp thud on the floor, gasping for breath. David shook his head, pacing around the room in anger. "What are you doing, David? Can't you see that's what she wants? She wants us to fight each other so she can get back at us for what we did to her!" Lana yelled as soon as she found her voice.

David scoffed. "What you did to her. Everything was all you, Lana." He said, and Lana looked up at him from the floor in disbelief. "You said you loved me!" she yelled, tears forming in her eyes.

"Key word, loved! I only wanted to get away from my wife a little bit, and you were the perfect escape." David shut his eyes, a picture of Rachel appearing in front of him, in the beautiful gown she wore today, smiling at him. "I can't believe I let go of such a beautiful woman for you! Did you see how gorgeous she looked?" He asked dreamily, his eyes still shut tight.

Lana stared at the man who claimed to love her in disbelief. She had given him everything - her life, her love, even her body. He was her first time in everything. They had secretly been together since high school, when he was still dating Rachel. Anytime she wanted to stop, he always assured her that he loved her and not Rachel, and because she loved him, she always agreed.

When he got married to Rachel, it was the saddest day of her life, but then he surprised her by coming to her house on his wedding night and taking her virginity. Since then, anytime he lied to Rachel that he was going on a business trip, he always came to her place, assuring her how much he loved her and how he only wanted Rachel for her family's money. He had always promised her that after he and Rachel got divorced, he would get married to her and they would start a family of their own, and the dream was finally coming true.

All her life, she had devoted herself to this man, every single fiber of her being loving him immensely. How could he think of doing this, screwing her over after everything? How dare he! "I'm going to get back with her," David suddenly declared, breaking the long silence.

"You... You divorced her. You humiliated her. Do you think she would ever want to go back to you?" Lana asked, standing up from the floor. David's eyes flew open, and he glared at Lana. "She would, at least that family of yours would make her, after they find out that I would pull out of the business alliance between our families if they don't."

He answered with a sinister smirk. Lana's chest heaved up and down in anger, her breathing rapid. "You are engaged to me! We are to be married!" She roared, showing him the golden-colored ring he put on her finger only a few days ago.

He had arrived in England earlier than expected and proposed to her right after.

As David declared his intention to win Rachel back, Lana's anger boiled over. "You're engaged to me, David. We're to be married!" she reminded him, her hand flashing the golden ring he had placed on her finger just days ago.

David's eyes opened, a sinister smirk spreading across his face. "I'll need that back," he said, his hand outstretched.

Lana's grip on the ring tightened, her heart heavy with sorrow. She knew she had lost him, that he had never truly loved her. And in that moment, she realized she was better off without him.

Lana held her hand wearing the ring closer to her chest.

"No David, you can't mean this. I've already informed my parents about our engagement. They were so happy, David you can't take this away from me". She cried, actual tears rolling down from her eyes.

" You mean Rachel's parents. You can fool the entire Andrews family with your cock and bullshit story of you being their real daughter, but you can't fool me Lana. Now give me the ring."

David's demand was met with Lana's tightened grip on the ring, her face set in determination. This was her world, and she wasn't about to let Rachel take it away from her.

But David's stern tone and aggressive stance made her take a step back, her heart racing with fear.

This was her world. She was getting everything she ever wanted, Rachel parents which were now hers, Rachel's husband, which was still her's and Rachel's life.

Everything she had ever wanted form childhood was snow in her grasps, but than Rachel comes out from nowhere and began to take them away slowly back.

David took two steps towards her, and she took a step back, she was about to flew when David got hold of her hand and held it tight.

"David, let go... you're hurting me," she cried, trying to wrestle her hand free from his grasp. But he held tight, his eyes blazing with anger.

"I said give it to me!" he yelled, his other hand grasping for hers. The ring was torn from her finger, leaving a small cut on her hand. David threw her hand back at her, his face twisted in disgust.

"Rachel is a better woman than you'll ever be," he spat, his words dripping with venom. Lana's anger flared, and she lashed out without thinking.

"And that man Rachel was with, Ethan... is twice the man you'll ever be!" she retorted, her eyes flashing with defiance.

But David's reaction was immediate and violent. His hand struck her face, hard with a loud smack, leaving her reeling on the floor.

As she stared up at him in disbelief, David's menacing voice sent shivers down her spine. "Don't you ever say such a thing to me again, you worthless piece of whore!" He turned and walked towards the door, he opened it and looked back at Lana who was still in the same place he left her "Now get out of my room!" He commanded.

Lana stared at the floor stunned by the events taking place.

First Rachel was happy with another man, next David almost killed her... Then now he took away his engagement ring and called her a whore! All of these because of Rachel!!!

She stood up and picked her bag which was on the table.

With a fierce determination burning in her heart, Lana stood up, her eyes blazing with tears. "I'll make you and Rachel regret this," she swore, her voice barely audible. She grabbed her bag and left the room, her head held high, and her heart heavy with sorrow.
