Chapter 27 Boring meeting, angry Lana
Rachel's POV
"We just want all our actors to get acquainted with each other since the acting of the movie is about to begin..." Director George Stone went on and on talking about the does and don't acting in the film, and sincerely, it was getting really boring.
The only reason I wasn't fast asleep already was because Marina was seated beside me and Lana had been glaring daggers at me since the moment I walked into the meeting room.
It felt so refreshing to see that she was mad at me.
She had thought that after whatever Mum said to me, I would quit the show... Well, she thought wrong. If anything, it only made me want to expose her even more.
The main actors in the film were present. That was how I got to know Raine... The guy I met a few days ago was the male lead and the stupid husband who slept with another girl apart from his wife.
And there was this little kid there too; he was sitting beside Raine, Probably the little kid Joyce gives birth to. Though he looked to be around four or five years old, he had a serious expression on his face.
He was listening attentively to all the director rambling... He actually almost challenged me to also listen; keyword, almost. But I heard snippets of what he was saying.
"... I strongly advise that first and third female lead get closely acquainted as they would be best friends..."
"Up until Agnes dies." Lana completed mentioning the name of my character in the film.
I could tell the director was mad at Lana for interrupting him, but he let it go. Then he turned to Olivia and then at me.
"I hope that isn't a problem." He said to both of us.
Olivia pursed her lips before looking at me. Then she shook her head.
"Though she may be a new and inexperienced actress, I think I can work with her."
I almost rolled my eyes at her statement. She insulted me at the same time, complimented me, but mostly exalted herself, a typical actress move. Maybe this was where Lana learned it from. From what I've heard, Lana and Olivia had acted in a film together before; as usual, Olivia was the female lead, but Lana was just one of the extras.
"I also need the first and second female lead to separate their work life from their private life. Though they may be enemies in the movie that doesn't make them also in real life." The director said this time to Olivia and Lana.
Lana immediately put on a sweet smile.
"It's just acting Sir... We'll do our best."
This time I rolled my eyes at her statement despite the nudge I received from Marina.
She was trying too much for Olivia to like and notice her; that was something I'd noticed in the few hours of this long meeting.
But too bad that I'm the best friend in the film while she's the evil wife.
"Good... The same goes for Agnes and Joyce. I need you both to be professional." The director addressed both Lana and me by our characters' names.
That wouldn't be a problem; I laughed inwardly, for me.
"Sir, like Ms. Sangria rightfully said, although Rachel is still a young, upcoming, and inexperienced actress..." She laid a lot of emphasis on 'inexperienced' before she continued.
"I'll do my best to act with her." That was Lana's sweet answer.
It wasn't even that hard to do.
In the movie, Agnes hates Joyce with passion because they used to be friends a long time ago, but they had a falling out because Joyce stole Agnes' man and married him.
When I read the script completely I realized it was actually a love triangle. The man Mara loved was the same man Agnes was dating before Joyce stole him from her, but the Agnes because of her kind and meek character left them be, she even never told Mara that she use to date the damn man. She had to find out herself on Agnes' funeral day.
The entire storyline was funny and twisted but that was what made the movie interesting right?
The director was looking at me waiting for my answer
My lips curled into a sweet smile as I nodded my head to agree with Lana
"It's no problem at all, I guess you don't know that Ms Lana over here..." I looked at Lana the sweet smile still on my face.
"Just happens to be my sister... Well step sister if some sorts, my parents just found her." I added and my smile widened when I saw Lana grit her teeth in anger.
Marina stifled her laugher using her hands to cover her lips. She knew what I was doing that was for sure.
She was yet to tell them. I thought she would have gloated it to everyone by now that she was the Andrews missing daughter, but since she didn't I took the liberty of doing so.
It wasn't that I said it that got Lana angry, it was the way I said it. I made it sound like she had been in the slums before my parents, found her.
She wanted to correct what I said but the director spoke up interrupting her before she could speak.
"That's indeed very good." He nodded his head in satisfaction.
Then he continued his speech about how we needed to behave, what he need to do and so on.
It was Marina constant nudging in the ribs that the me awake the entire meeting.
As the meeting was going on a young lady walked into the office and began sharing a paper to each and every one of yours.
"That's your schedule." The director began.
"For all of you actors that have a manager, one have been given to them... This is just a curtsy for those that don't have one."
I guess he was talking to me because all eyes went to me when he finished talking, even his.
What?
I glared back at them.
Was it my fault that I had no manager?
Marina nudged me again gesturing for me to bring my ears closer.
"We need to take care of that part." She whispered and I gave hera dumb look.
You think? The look said and she understood it.
After the short moment of silence the actors spent to look at me, the director continued his speech.
Ten minutes later, he was done, and oh praise the Lord, I feared that I he said one more complete sentence, I would fall sleep. Most of the other actors also left the office to do one thing or the other.
I just picked up my schedule from the table and read it. The acting of the film was starting in the next two weeks, and we had to travel to Europe for the first few scenes.
That was nice... I had only but a few parts, just about the first acts, convenient. I just need to travel for a few days that is.
I hated traveling, more like I hated being on a plane. I always felt like vomiting giving my aerophobia
"Ah..." I met out a small sigh as I continued to read the schedule
All of a sudden I saw a shadow blocking my view of the paper, I raised my head up to see a angry Lana who had her hands crossed on her chest glaring at me.
"What was that stupid stunt you pulled about half an hour ago?" Her cheeks were red because of anger.
It brought a smile to my face, but I quickly changed it to a innocent one. Not like it wasn't innocent from the beginning, ha ha.
"What stunt?" I asked blinking my eyes innocently.
Who said acting wasn't the best job in the world?
Learning how to act had it's benefits, one to annoy this gold-digging bitch and two... Some of the actors were still in the office and we're now looking at us.
