Rachel's POV
The confusion on Ethan's face increased significantly.
"Explain." He murmured staring back at me.
I let out a huge sigh before bending down in front of him.
"Since you meant what you said the last time, I want us to act on it."
I motioned with my fingers for him to bring his ears closer. He brought down his face, and my mouth was just beside his ears.
"Let's pretend to be together," I whispered to him ever so slowly in fear that he might just snap or immediately refuse.
I took a few steps back to see the expression on his face.
It wasn't disgust, that's a good thing. It was unreadable.
"So..." I stressed awkwardly staring at his face.
"How is that going to get back at Lana?"
He didn't object... That's a good thing. But he hasn't agreed either... Could work with that.
I walked back to my bed and sat on it, looking down at my hands.
"You're no longer the Ethan we all knew before... You're not rich, to points I can't even phantom, and handsome..." I paused to look at Ethan after I said handsome.
Just like I expected, he was smiling.
Narcissist... But we'll, he had all right to be, he was freaking hot!
I shook my head with a smile.
"Okay, go on."
"I just need to make Lana see happy with you, make her jealous. Make it look like, I dumped David for someone better, and richer and more handsome, you."
"Lana has sworn to never see me happy; if she sees that I'm happy with you, she'll try to steal you away from me... That's when we'll get her." I explained.
Ethan went into a deep thinking.
Would he agree to this? My heart raced as I awaited his reply.
It's been almost thirty seconds now... Was he not going to agree?
But seriously, if Lana finds out that the Ethan we used to bully back in high school was now my boyfriend, and he was richer and more handsome than David, it would make her freak out.
To the point, she'll make a mistake, and I'll finally be able to expose her to my family; I'll see how they'll help her then.
"I know it's difficult for you to agree to this... Because, I was a terrible person to you, and you may not have forgiven me entirely... But it's not even a real relationship; you can get out of this anytime you want; I..."
I was yet to finish my babbling on why he should agree to this when I heard him speak.
"I agree " I heard him say in a low mutter.
Seriously?
"What did you say?" I asked in excitement, almost jumping off the bed.
Ethan raised his beautiful blue eyes to meet mine.
"I'm going to agree to this... On a condition that we're the only ones that are going to know it's all a facade."
The smile on my face stiffened.
"What?"
A side of Ethan's lips hooked up in a sinister smirk.
"We'll have to behave like a real couple whenever we're out together; in fact, we will be a real couple in the public..."
"But we can love our separate lives in private... I'll still be living with you, but we can cut the pretense." I completed.
I saw the way Ethan's face darkened when I was done, but I brushed it off.
It couldn't be something I said, because that was exactly what he was about to say.
It was a good plan.
"Let's do it, deal." I stood up bringing my hands for a shake.
Ethan stared at it before looking back at my face.
"Deal." His cold, hoarse voice sounded in my ears as his huge, slender hands shook my slim, small ones.
He held my hands longer than usual, slowly caressing with his fingers.
Our eyes met, and I froze. Staring straight into his beautiful blue eyes that made it impossible for me to look away.
The grumbling of my stomach distracted me from Ethan, ruining the moment.
"Er..." I held my stomach in embarrassment.
Why now of all times?
Heat rose to my face as I looked down in embarrassment. I felt Ethan's gaze on my face.
What is he thinking?
"I'm going to get you something to eat; just stay right there," He said after a few seconds before leaving me alone in the room.
"God why..." I fell back on the bed before stuffing a pillow on my face and screaming in embarrassment.
I was hungry...That was a fact, I had eaten almost nothing throughout yesterday, but my stomach was not supposed to react now.
I could feel Ethan's soft hands on mine...That feeling.
Rachel! I yelled at myself crying into the pillow.
"Get up; you can't let Ethan meet you like this." I got you from the bed and rushed to the closet.
I was still wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday, and it was crumbled.
"What should I wear..." I flung every cloth my hands touched out of the closet.
"Not this..."
"No..."
"Not this..."
They all felt too... Not pretty enough.
"Yes... This." I smiled when I finally brought out one that caught my eye. Like all the other clothes in the closet, it was my size.
A red, almost armless, body-hugging, knee-length gown.
"Perfect."
I immediately rushed into the bathroom and came out in less than ten minutes.
"Please... God don't let Ethan come back now." I prayed as I wore the cloth.
I walked towards the floor-to-length mirror after I was done.
The dress fit me perfectly. My hair was still wrapped in a towel because I didn't want it to get wet.
I removed the towel slowly; my hair fell back, and a few strands fell on my face.
My blond hair, my prized possession. I smiled
I remembered those times my mother used to braid them for me... My smile disappeared.
Those times will never come back again.
I stared at my face through the mirror.
My face was actually doing well. For someone who has never been slapped before in her entire life, being slapped twice in a week should have destroyed my face... At least, I used to think it would, but it was still good, a little bit swollen, but that was still pretty.
Picking up the face cream on the table, I rubbed my face with it before picking up the make-up.
Today was the day all the actors and actresses in the show were meeting up... I'm going to see Lana there; it's best to act like I wasn't affected by whatever my mother said to me.
But since I was already so pretty, there was not much work to be done. Only a little natural makeup and lipstick...
I stared at the lipstick.
It was red, a daring color that would be just perfect to annoy Lana, but what about Ethan?
Would he like it?
My eyes widened at what I just thought about.
When did I start wondering about what Ethan thinks?
Rachel is a fucking fake relationship, get a grip on yourself.
"Dargh..."
I threw the lipstick in my purse, I'll have to put it on when I get there.
The door to the room opened, and from the mirror, I saw Ethan get in with a tray in his hands.
"Hey..."
