After Divorce: Loved by the Secret Billionaire CEO

Chapter 29 I'm dating you

Ch. 29 / 155 Apr 28, 2026

Rachel's POV

After the long plane ride... Which I mostly slept through, this was seriously the first plane ride I have ever been on that I didn't puke at least twice.

Raine was a big help.

The entertainment company sponsoring the movie had already reserved a room for each and every one of the actors, but mine happens to be with Marina.

How did that happen... Well, only the first four main leads were lucky enough to have a room to themselves; the rest of us had to manage three or four in the same room because of how many people were there.

Each and every one of us brought a make-up artist and a fashion designer, well apart from Olivia, who brought two of both, and Lana, who brought two makeup artists, but we had to be the ones to suffer it.

I was to stay in a room with two of the the actresses in the show when suddenly Marina volunteered for me to stay in her room.

It was a relief to me... But it only made Lana glare at me even more; a definite win-win. She had been doing that since on the plane, as much as it was fun to watch her annoyed at me... Sometimes I wish I knew why, but mostly I just don't care. I gives me great joy to see that she sas partaking out of her own medicine even though I don't know how.

I had an hunch on why Marina wanted me in her room and it turned out to be right, because the second she closed those doors she began asking me about Ethan.

It's been a week now, and the shooting of the film had already begun... So far it's been great, only thing was that Marina was no backing off about knowing more about Ethan.

Right now we were in Marina's room, which I must say is way bigger than the other room I was supposed to stay the other two actress and she was asking the same question which she always did.

"You're yet to tell me about this Ethan, who is he?" She asked jumping on the bed I was sitting on, memorizing my next lines.

"I'm busy." I yelled trying to get a stable position which was almost impossible because Marina was bouncing on it like a child.

"Rachel... You have to tell me who this guy is, or even more introduce us." She said finally coming down from the bed and holding my hands in her's.

I looked up at her, and all I could see was sincerity. I knew how much she cares about me, but I was just not ready for she and Ethan to meet yet.

Taking of Ethan... My phone began to ring, he was the one calling. Ever since I left, he had always called me twice a day to ask about how things were going.

"Is that him?" Marina asked, and before I could answer, she jumped on me taking the phone from my hands.

"Marina..." I yelled trying to collect the phone back from her, but she stood up and began running around the room.

"So you are the Ethan who Rachel refuses to introduce me to..."

"I'm her best friend, I need to know you..." Marina continued still running around the room, with me chasing right behind her.

"Marina give me back my phone!" I yelled trying my best to catch her in a corner but she just jumped on the bed to create a way for herself.

"Hey... Can't you speak?" Marina asked after a while.

Guess Ethan wasn't talking to her... Good. I let out a sigh of relief and stopped struggling to get my phone back. I just crossed my arms and looked away from her.

"Anyways, I just wanted to thank you for helping this nut head friend of mine... She would have ended her life if not for you, and that I'm incredibly grateful to you."

I paused to look back at Marina.

Her face had turned serious, as she spoke to him.

Wait... They were actually talking to each other?!

"I want to meet you... seriously?"

My heart hitched when she became so excited. What were they saying?

"...When...Alright, I'll give the phone to her." Marina stretched her hand to me and I immediately took it walking away to answer the call.

"I'm here.

"Just wanted to ask for an update." Came Ethan's voice.

His deep yet soothing voice flowed into my ears...But before I would get myself lost in his voice, I immediately remembered that he and Mia spoke for almost a minute and she paused most of the time, which meant he was also talking.

I walked to a far corner of the room, occasionally throwing a glance at Marina to ensure she wasn't coming close to me.

"What did you say to Marina?" I asked in a harsh whisper.

I heard him chuckle lightly.

"Why do you want to know so bad?"

"Why do I... Look I just need to know if you told her something you were not, like..."

"Like, I'm dating you...At least we're pretending that I am? Isn't she supposed to know?" Ethan asked his voice turning cold.

Exactly... I wanted to say, but the tone of his voice told me that was not what he wanted to hear right now.

"No, that's not..."

"Rachel, we agreed on this because you said you wanted everyone to think we're dating, not just ourselves. That's why its called a pretense!" I quivered slightly at how harsh his voice was. Then all of a sudden he cut the call on me.

"Rachel is everything good?" Marina asked. She must have noticed me shake a little.

"Yeah." I lied through my teeth before giving her a tight smile as I brought the phone down from my ears.

I could tell she didn't believe me, but before she could say anything, we heard a knock on the door.

Marina went to open it. It was one of the guys working on the set.

"The director is asking for you." The boy to Marina

Marina looked at me, and I gave her a nod then she followed the young guy out.

"What is wrong with this guy!" I exclaimed after Marina was out of sight.

I indeed wanted to ask if he said anything to Marina about our ruse but I sure as hell didn't't expect him to behave like that.

I had to call him back.

I dialed his number and waited for him to answer it.

First ring... Ignored. Okay...

Second.... Ignored, this guy...

I swear if this guy ignores my third ring... I would not spare him.

I called him the third time.

I could bet he could hear my calls, for God sake he called me few seconds ago so the phone was definitely not that far from him. Was he that mad? What was he even mad about?

"Answer you goddamn phone Ethan..." I yelled in frustration.

"What?"

"Finally...What's wrong with you." I yelled as soon as he answered his phone.

"What? I thought you didn't want your friend to discover something." He said coldly.

I face palmed myself taking in deep breaths.

"That's not how I meant it. I didn't want Marina to know who you are because, both of you were enemies back in high school school. If I told her who you are... She might not like you, you might not like her, and both of you might ruin my plan of exposing Lana, that's all." I explained in the calmest voice I could muster while feeling this agitated.

"Really?" He asked, his voice sounding hopeful.

What was he hopeful about? I wondered, but answered him anyways.

"Of course really, could be there be another reason I won't want my best friend to meet my pretend boyfriend?" I asked sarcastically.

This guy was not serious.

"I'll talk to you later." I shook my head before ending the call.

I walked back to the bed. The next scene I has was in a few hours... Acting may be the best job ever, but it sure was exhausting.

"Maybe I'll check what Marina's doing." I told myself before walking towards the door.

Immediately I opened it I saw a face which I had not really spoken too since that day on the plane.

He was standing outside the door, one hand folded like he was about to knock on the door which I just opened.

"Raine... W...what are you doing here?"
