Torn Between my Alpha Mates

Chapter 113: Something to Cherish Part 1

Ch. 113 / 177 Dec 10, 2025

Ezra's P.O.V

I gazed at Zoya, trying to discern her emotions. The mixture of apprehension and joy in her eyes gave me pause.

Was she as thrilled about this pregnancy as I secretly was? Or was she more scared about what this could mean for her, for me, and for us both?

After all, her life had taken an unexpected turn, and I couldn't help but wonder if she felt the same exhilaration that surged through me.

I couldn't blame her, though, if she was having second thoughts about this. After all, it was she who would have to carry a living organism in her for nine months. My child…our child.

Still, I was happy about it, even though I wasn’t so good at expressing myself, since I was still trying to gauge her mood.

Despite the uncertainty that lingered, my heart swelled with happiness. I was elated to have found love again after the devastating loss of Lily.

The pain of losing my first mate had been unbearable, and for a while, I thought I would never recover.

Losing Lily was like having a part of my soul ripped away. It was an agonizing pain that seemed to suffocate me, leaving me gasping for air in a world that suddenly felt cold and empty.

We had shared an unbreakable bond, one that went beyond words or actions. She was my everything, my reason for living, and in a cruel twist of fate, she was taken away from me.

The day it happened, the sun refused to shine, and the world seemed to mourn with me. The sky was overcast with heavy clouds that mirrored the darkness in my heart. The air was thick with sorrow, and I could feel the weight of the loss crushing me.

The moment I saw her lifeless body, my heart shattered into a million pieces. I cradled her in my arms, desperately hoping that she would wake up, that it was all just a terrible nightmare.

But no matter how hard I pleaded or how fiercely I wished, she remained still and silent, her once vibrant eyes now forever closed.

The pain was not just emotional but physical too. It was as if a part of my body was missing, leaving an empty ache that never seemed to fade.

I felt weak and hollow, unable to find solace in anything around me. Everything reminded me of her – the scent of her hair, the sound of her laughter, the touch of her skin.

It was as if her presence was etched into every corner of my life, making her absence even more excruciating.

In the days that followed, grief consumed me. I would find myself calling out her name, only to be met with silence. The loneliness was unbearable, and I felt adrift in a sea of sorrow, unable to find my way back to shore.

Every night, I would lie awake, haunted by memories of our time together. The pain of losing her was like an open wound that never healed. The ache in my chest seemed to tighten with each passing day. I felt like a ghost, merely existing in a world that had lost its color and meaning.

I tried to find solace in the pack, in the support of my friends and family, but nothing could fill the void left by Lily's absence.

But the Moon goddess, yet again, had other plans, and when I met Zoya, everything changed.

She brought light back into my life, healing the wounds that I thought would never mend. With her, I found a second chance at love and happiness, and I realized that even in the darkest of times, there could still be hope for a brighter tomorrow.

Zoya's arrival in my life was like a ray of sunshine breaking through the darkest storm clouds.

When I first saw her, I was captivated by her beauty and grace, but it was her spirit and strength that truly drew me in. She had a fire in her eyes, a determination to face the world head-on, and I found myself both in awe and intrigued by her.

However, I had been living in the shadow of grief after losing Lily, my first mate, and the second mating bond felt like a betrayal to my first love.

I had shut myself off from the possibility of love, believing that I would never find happiness again. I had accepted that I would wither away and soon die, as all wolves without a mate eventually did.

But Zoya changed everything.

At first, I tried to resist the pull she had on me, afraid to open my heart to the possibility of getting hurt again.

But Zoya, unbeknownst even to her, was persistent, and her kindness and compassion slowly chipped away at the walls I had built around my heart. She showed me that it was okay to grieve for the past but also to embrace the present and the future.

With Zoya, I learned to find joy in the simplest of things. Her smile could light up a room, and her laughter was like music to my ears.

Being around her brought a sense of peace and contentment that I had long forgotten. She made me feel alive again, and I realized that love was not something to be feared but embraced.

Zoya showed me that it was okay to be vulnerable, to let someone else into my heart. She accepted me for who I was, scars and all, and in her presence, I felt safe and understood.

She listened to my stories of Lily and didn't shy away from my pain but instead, she held my hand and offered comfort and support.

As we spent more time together, I discovered the depth of her courage and resilience. She had faced hardships in her own life, yet she remained strong and determined.

Zoya had a way of seeing the beauty in the world, even in the midst of chaos, and she reminded me that life was worth living fully.
