Torn Between my Alpha Mates

Chapter 112: A Life-Changing Revelation

Ch. 112 / 177 Dec 10, 2025

Zoya's P.O.V

I watched as Ezra's eyes widened. His shock mirrored my own as he processed my words, all the implications of what I was saying. And all of a sudden I wasn't so certain whether he'd be happy about it.

It wasn't that I doubted him. It wasn't a matter of trust. It was just a moment of weakness in that fraction of a second that shock had overruled his face.

"Are… are you sure about what Silas said?" he asked, his voice tinged with… I don't know what it is. Worry? Excitement? Anticipation? All three?

"I actually doubted him right on the spot when he approached me about it," I replied, feeling a mix of anxiety and uncertainty. "But… for a few days now, I've had my suspicions… I had been having morning sickness lately, as well as some peculiar cravings. I just… brushed off the idea, thinking it couldn't be possible since I am on birth control. But then I remembered... the first time we were together, we didn't use anything… did we?"

Ezra's expression softened with understanding, and he took my hands in his, offering reassurance. "We didn't," he said gently.

At that moment that we realized at the same time that it was very possible that I could, in fact, be pregnant.

He must have seen the conflicted look on my face because he brought me in for a very long, very passionate kiss.

"It's okay, Zoya," he said once we broke apart. "We'll find out together, and whatever the result, we'll face it together."

Despite his comforting words, I couldn't shake the nervous flutter in my stomach. "I'm scared, Ezra," I admitted, my voice quivering. "What if I'm not ready for this?"

"I'm scared, too," he told me. "And I understand your fear more than mine, Zoya, believe me, but no matter what happens, we're in this together."

I glanced at him. "It's just... it's a lot to process," I admitted, uncertainty evident in the way I spoke. "Since I was on birth control, I never expected any of this to happen, and now I don't know what to do."

He gave my hand another reassuring squeeze. "It’s partially my fault too, I guess." He gave me a sheepish grin. “Since wolf-human birthing rates were so low, I got overconfident that you wouldn’t get pregnant.”

My eyes softened as I looked at him, and I hoped that he could see the trust and love in my gaze. "I'm just scared of messing things up," I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. “Not because I’m having your child.”

He turned to me, and I swear I could see his heart swelling with love and understanding. "Zoya, listen to me," he told me earnestly, his voice firm but gentle. "You are strong, and you are capable. We all have fears and doubts, but that doesn't mean we can't handle whatever life throws at us. We'll support each other, and we'll get through this, just like we've gotten through everything else."

My grip on his hand tightened, and I could see a glimmer of hope in his eyes. "You really think we can do this?" I asked, my voice wavering slightly.

He pulled me into a warm embrace, enveloping me in his comforting presence. "Whatever happens, we'll figure it out," he whispered, his breath brushing against my ear. "We'll take it one step at a time, and we'll support each other through everything."

Feeling a sense of relief wash over me, I leaned into his embrace, taking comfort in his words and his touch.

"I'll buy a testing kit," I told him. "First thing tomorrow morning."

"Okay," he said. "But… you know, I can still predict it, right now. Without a testing kit. I can see if it really is true."

I raised an eyebrow skeptically. "What? How?"

"Well, considering it might be about months into your pregnancy right now," he said, "there should be a heartbeat there."

I blinked. He was right.

"Well?" he prompted when I didn't answer right away. "Should I do it?"

Why not? The only thing that made me nervous was whether it was true or not. "...okay, then."

The anticipation was almost unbearable as I agreed to let Ezra use his unique abilities to check for the baby's heartbeat.

My heart raced with nerves and excitement, not knowing what to expect. Ezra gently closed his eyes, focusing his senses on my womb as he pressed his hand to my abdomen.

I watched his expression, hoping to catch any sign of what he might be feeling or hearing.

In that moment, the world around us seemed to fade away, leaving only the sound of our breathing and the faint rustling of leaves in the distance.

I anxiously waited for him to listen for the baby's heartbeat. It was such a surreal moment; one that I knew could change my life forever.

I glanced at Ezra, his expression focused and serious, and I could tell he was just as anxious as I was. "Do you really think you can hear it?" I asked, my voice trembling slightly.

He gave me a reassuring smile. "I've done this before," he said, his voice calm and soothing. "Just relax and take deep breaths."

Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath and tried to calm my racing heart. I reminded myself that whatever the outcome, we would face it together. I could trust Ezra to be there for me, no matter what.

Time felt like it was moving in slow motion as we waited for any sign of the tiny life growing within me. It felt like an eternity, but finally, his eyes fluttered open, and a soft smile curved on his lips. His face lit up with amazement.

"I can hear it," he said, his voice filled with awe, wonder and emotions. "There's a faint but steady heartbeat."

An emotion I couldn't name washed over me. I couldn't describe what I was feeling. But it was huge, so big that my heart felt too small to contain it.

Tears welled up in my eyes as I realized that this was real — a child was growing inside me. I reached for Ezra's hand and held it tightly, feeling a connection between us that went beyond words.

"We're going to be parents," I whispered, and I didn't know if he could hear the awe in my voice, because I was mostly shell-shocked. "I can't believe it."

Ezra's eyes were filled with adoration as he looked at me. "Me neither," he said, his voice husky with emotion. "But I can't think of anyone else I'd want to share this journey with."

With those words, my heart swelled with love for him. Despite the uncertainty and challenges that lay ahead, I knew we were in this together, and that made all the difference.

Ezra's smile widened, and he looked at me with pure happiness in his eyes. "You're pregnant, Zoya," he said softly, his voice filled with wonder.

The words hit me like a wave, and I could hardly believe it was real.

How are we going to move forward after this life-changing revelation?

Ezra leaned in and kissed my forehead, his touch gentle and comforting. "And I couldn't be happier." He said, his voice tender and filled with happiness.
