Gabriel sighed and opened the door wider. "It’s just him."
Jasper’s eyes met Piper’s as he stepped inside. "I heard what’s happening. I had to come. Are you okay?"
Piper nodded, though her heart was still pounding. "I’m fine. Gabriel’s about to leave to —"
"I’m not letting you go alone," Jasper interrupted, his gaze hardening as he turned to Gabriel. "This isn’t just about you. Victor is after Piper and Lily. I’m not sitting on the sidelines while this goes down."
Gabriel’s jaw clenched, and for a moment, the tension between the two men was palpable. Piper could see the rivalry simmering just below the surface — both of them were desperate to protect her, but neither could ignore the complicated history that hung between them.
"This isn’t a competition, Jasper," Gabriel said quietly, his voice low and controlled. "This is about keeping them safe. I don’t need you getting in the way."

Noah didn’t respond, but the look on his face made it clear that he wasn’t going to back down. He was here, and he was going to stay.
Piper could feel the weight of everything pressing down on her, but there was no time to dwell on it. She had to focus on what mattered — keeping Lily safe and ending Victor’s threat once and for all.
"I’ll stay with Lily," Piper said quietly. "You three… do what you need to do."
Gabriel’s eyes softened as he looked at her. "I’ll come back as soon as it’s over."
Jasper gave her a small nod, his expression filled with unspoken emotion. "We’ll keep you safe."
Noah lingered by the door, his eyes locked on hers. "I won’t let him hurt you, Piper."
She didn’t respond. She couldn’t. Her emotions were too tangled, too raw. She just needed them to leave, to go out there and finish this so she and Lily could finally be free of the danger.
