THAT JERK
“Good morning, Ashanti.” I snapped back as soon as I heard that familiar irritating voice. I swear to God I haven’t hated a person in my whole life as much as I hate this guy.
I am not really a bad person but Hunter Looney is really the kind of person who would test my patience. He looked at me with a grin on his face as his members walked behind him.
I rolled my eyes. What a jerk.
“Aren’t you going to greet me good morning, too?” he asked me as he welcomed himself in the office.
Min, who was standing by the door, was shocked to see situation. I guess I have to explain later.
“What’s good in seeing your face?” I asked him as fiercely as I could.
He smirked. “Then, morning is fine with me.” He snapped back.
I rolled my eyes. “Talking to you isn’t even fine with me, jerk, how much more greeting you?” I scowled at him.
He chuckled. “Ashanti, you never have really changed,” he told me.
I shook my head as we sat in the couch. “Same as you. Still a jerk as ever,” I replied.
Hunter chuckled. “And you, as beautiful as ever,” he told me. I gave him a fierce look. What the hell is he talking about? “A tigress dressed in a sexy coat,” he added.
I made my look even fiercer.
He chuckled. “What?” he asked his members who are giving him weird glances.
I hate those glances anyway.
“You are always picking on Ashanti.” Derek beamed.
Hunter rolled his eyes. “Who said I am picking on her? I am showing my affection for her.” He explained which made me want to kill him on the spot right now.
He looked at me and I am giving him my deadliest glare.
I have known all these guys since I entered High School. Aside from, Kristoff’s group of friends, InfinitXe is popular among girls as well. One, because they have the looks. And two, because they have the talent.
That, I couldn’t deny.
Girls swoon as they perform in every school event. With their synchronized move, they are really incredible.
Well, that is if they are on stage. Because when they aren’t, they really piss me off. I mean Hunter Looney. He is the main dancer and I might admit that he is really the best dancer of them seven.
I might like him if he dances all day and stops pestering on me. Unfortunately, that never did happen. In everyday that the Lord made, Hunter would find brand new ways to pester me.
And what’s worse is that we are seat mates. I had to endure his annoying self for eight hours five days a week.
Hunter Looney. Ashanti Michaels. Michaels. Looney.
I really hate my surname! If only I was a Marx back then, I must have been seated beside Kristoff.
“Don’t even try to reminisce everything we’ve been through, Ashanti. I know you love to reminisce our past.” Hunter suddenly spoke.
I gave him another deadly glare.
“Woah!” he beamed. “You give even deadlier looks than Malone here,” he said.
I rolled my eyes. How would I work with this man?
“Stop it, Hunter.” Ken spoke. “Come on, Ashanti, let’s get this started.” He smiled at me.
I nodded. Thanks, Kenneth. I opened the folder as Min gave each one of them a copy.
“So, the fashion show…” I started.
Malone looked at me. “We’ll do it, Ashanti,” he replied.
I nodded. “First, thanks for cooperating,” I told them.
Donnel grinned. “Hunter here is the most excited of us all.” He beamed earning a glare from the latter.
“You don’t know how I am really thankful that there are still idols who want to come to this fashion show,” I said. “That, I am grateful of.”
They all listened to me. Seeing them like this, I feel like they have finally matured. I am relieved.
“The fashion show is on the twenty-eighth. That’s a month from now,” I said. “There will be a live coverage for this and this will be featured on The Runway.” I continued.
“Wow! The Runway is like the biggest magazine for models!” Martin beamed.
I nodded and smiled. “That’s right,” I replied. “That is why I wanted this fashion show to be a success,” I told them.
Patrick nodded. “You can trust us on this, Shan,” he said.
I smiled and nodded. “I trust all of you. But one.” I eyed Hunter.
He blinked at me. “What? Why me?” he asked me.
I shrugged. “You tell me, Hunter Looney,” I told him.
He grinned and shook his head.
I smiled. “You are not the only celebrities around, by the way,” I said.
They all looked at me.
“There are others?” They asked in chorus.
I nodded. “Yes. We will have Ciube covered up as well,” I replied.
They all sighed in relief.
I looked at them. “What’s wrong with having artists around?” I asked them.
They all shook their heads. Maybe they are shy when they see idols.
“So…”
“Ashanti, Kristoff is on the phone.” Min interrupted.
I looked at her. “Tell him to call later,” I replied.
Actually, I don’t really want to talk to Kristoff right now. Everything is fresh and I don’t want to be rude to him so I am trying my best to ignore him as much as I could.
Min gave me a confused and questioning look. “Okay,” she replied reluctantly.
I sighed and looked at Infinite again. “So, as I was saying, we will be distributing the invitations next week and you are all welcomed to choose from the wardrobe,” I told them with a smile.
All of them listened and nodded but one. He was looking at me with an unreadable expression.
Hunter looked at me. “You and Kristoff are still together?” he asked almost in a tone of disbelief.
I gave him a questioning look. “Why are you asking?” I asked back.
He shrugged. “Nothing. I am just thinking how Kristoff had caught up with a girl like you for years,” he replied.
I looked at him with another glare. He just wouldn’t stop pestering me. Ever.
“Stop pestering me and look for your own girl, jerk.” I shot.
I saw him smirk. “I won’t do that, I’m afraid,” he said. “Because she is just around the corner,” he added.
I rolled my eyes. “That girl is so unfortunate,” I replied.
The members of InfiniteX chuckled.
Hunter rolled his eyes. “Yes, how unlucky to have awesome Hunter Looney to love her.” He shot back.
I grinned. “Exactly. I’m glad you know, jerk,” I told him again.
He nodded. “Tigress.” I heard him mumble.
“Shan, Kristoff is outside.” Min interrupted again.
I gave her a shocked look. “What?” I asked as I stood up. “What is he doing here?”
Trust me, I sounded like I don’t want him here. Because, yes, I don’t want him here.
Hunter whistled. “Can’t believe he has become obsessed of you as well.” He uttered.
I gave him a fiery look. “Shut up,” I said. “Guys, meeting’s over. You can come here anytime,” I told them.
They all nodded. Even the jerk. And they slowly left. Just as when Hunter is about to leave, he glanced at me. And winked. Then smirked.
What a jerk.
