The Alpha's Triangle

Chapter 26 Alaia

Ch. 26 / 200 Jun 24, 2025

I woke up feeling cold as I stretched my hands to an empty space beside me. Isaiah was gone. I shot up to a sitting position, looking around the room for his presence. Why did he leave? Where did he go?

He’s an Alpha. He’s probably training. Though I would know for sure if you weren’t blocking me from his wolf Elena growled.

A sense of relief washed over me as I turned to see it was 8 in the morning. Of course he’s training. I remember my brother constantly training in the early hours til noon sometimes. So there was no need to worry. As for Elena.

Who knows what you might say if I let you talk? We’re not quite friends at the moment I replied, remembering that I did block Elena the moment I found out Isaiah was my mate.

What is there to say? That the Moon Goddess paired me with a maniac. Do you have some plans I don’t know about, Elena questioned.

Wouldn’t you like to know? Just be a good little wolf and let me work my magic for the both of us.

Your magic is never good. You only use it to hurt others and that’s not the way it should be.

How would she know anything about being a witch? She always complained about that side of me. Never truly accepting me as I am. How could the Moon Goddess pair me with a wolf who hated a part of who I am?

I knew Elena wasn’t on my side, so anytime I had business to take care of, I had to use magic to keep her in the dark. It was no easy task and nearly drained me to do it, but I had no other choice. We would never agree on anything I wanted, even if that meant we would both be happy in the end.

When I fell in love with James, she kept nagging me about waiting for our mate. She would say “Be patient, Alaia.” or “The Goddess will send him in due time.” When I tried to find ways to get closer to James, she constantly fought me tooth and nail. It was exhausting.

All you need to know is that I’m doing everything to make sure we keep OUR man this time.

She didn’t respond because I knew she wanted nothing more than to be with her mate. I got up and decided to get ready for the day. After I showered I realized I didn’t have my clothes up here. They were still in my room downstairs. I looked out the door to see if there was an omega nearby. It was completely empty.

How do they get service if the Omegas aren’t even allowed on the floor? I went back in the room to figure out how to get to my room with just a towel. I could mind-link my brother but that would be embarrassing. Besides, after last night I wasn't sure I wanted to see him. Then I had a brilliant idea.

I walked to Isaiah’s closet and chose one of his shirts. It came down right to the middle of my thighs. That should be enough to get me to my room. Before I left I caught a whiff of a scent here. It was a girl’s scent. I followed it deep behind some clothes and realized it was the black box again. He was hiding that choker for that girl here. Why? I could feel the jealousy building as I continued to look at the box. I wanted to destroy it.

We shouldn’t get so fed up with things like this. We know our mate had relationships before us but it was us he chose in the end. Isn’t that enough Elena suggested.

IT’S NEVER ENOUGH!

I didn’t mean to yell at her but she just likes to interrupt at the wrong time. Of course I knew about his relationship with the girl but I didn’t have to like it. I didn’t like the feeling of being the other girl or the thought that I might have to share him with others. With anyone. Was it so bad to want to be the only person in your mate’s life?

This jealousy you have for everyone would only lead to yo- our doom Elena scoffed..

I walked out the closet and continued my way to my room. When I made it to my floor I noticed a few Omegas running in and out of my brother’s room. I forgot that he was leaving today. My mood instantly got better.

A second later, Zack walked out of the room and noticed me. He noticed the shirt I was wearing and I subconsciously pulled at the bottom. I wasn’t prepared for whatever he was going to say, so I turned away. I could feel him on my heels and I turned in my doorway to block him from coming in.

“I don’t need a lecture right now, Zack.”

He looked at me with a bit of confusion and shrugged it off. “You’re a grown woman. I do not care about your night festivities. I came to see if you'll be leaving with me today.”

Was he freaking serious? After last night, I couldn’t believe he thought I would want to go back with him. He must have seen the surprise on my face because he just sighed.

“If you really think you’re ready for this, then I can’t stop you, but I want you to really think about this, Alaia. There are always consequences for everything you do. Since you’re mated to an Alpha there’s not much I can do if-” I couldn’t let him finish that sentence. I knew where he was going with it.

“I don’t need you trying to save me, Zack. I can take care of myself.” Besides, this time it was different. This time I was Maria and, unlike her, I was strong enough to never let anyone get in my way.

My brother glared at me. He hated being interrupted, but I could care less. He was probably more mad at not getting what he wanted.

“So if you’ll excuse me, I have to go get ready,” I said, closing the door in his face. That was satisfying. If I had done this back at home, he would’ve had the door removed for at least a month. I smiled as I got ready for the day and I went to return Isaiah’s shirt. On the way to the stairs, I noticed Alpha Jack mumbling to himself. He seemed displeased about something.

“Good Morning Alpha Jack.” He turned towards me and his face completely changed. He smiled.

“Ah Alaia. Good Morning. I hope you slept well.” He looked at the shirt in my hand then back at me with a bigger smile.

“Of course. I was on my way to return Isaiah’s shirt. Do you know if he’s done training?”

“Training, pfft. If you call being a prick training, then no,” he laughed. “He’s in his office, sweet girl.”

“Thank you, Alp-” He held up his hand.

“I am no longer Alpha. It’s just Jack now apparently,” he pouted. I don’t think I ever saw a grown man, let alone an Alpha pout before. It was strange to look at but I wanted to be nice. I wanted to change that look on his face.

“Well, I could call you Dad,” I smiled. “Heck, maybe even grandpa to someone in the future.” That changed his mood instantly. His smile was huge as he pulled me into a hug.

“Now that is a title I can work with.” He sat me down and stared at my face. “But you don’t have to rush on my account. This old man can wait. Though my wife, on the other hand, is another story.” He shrugged his shoulders. “Let him know breakfast is in 15 minutes.”

I nodded and he left. I went to Isaiah’s room to drop off his shirt and walked to his office. I saw two of his men leaving the room. Good, maybe his meeting was over. I knocked on the door just as the door was opening. I came face to face with Hunter, Isabella, and Isaiah.

“Oh sorry. I was just coming by to tell you breakfast is ready,” I said, stepping aside to let them out.

Isaiah grabbed my hand and kissed it. The tingles shot up through my arm and over my entire body. I could never tire of this feeling. “Thanks, babe. We can all walk down together,” he said, pulling me towards the stairs.

“Wait, Isaiah, if I could speak with you alone,” I asked, stopping him from going forward. He nodded and looked at the other two. They nodded and left us alone.

For some reason, I felt a bit nervous. “I just wanted to make sure that everything you said yesterday is still valid.” I looked up at his stormy gray eyes, pleading in a way. I didn’t want to go back with Zack. I wanted to stay near my mate and all those things he said had to be enhanced by the bracelet.

“Of course,” he smiled. “This is your home as much as it is mine. If you want to stay, then you’re staying, OK?” He traced the outline on my cheek before placing a soft kiss upon my lips. “Now, let’s go eat. I am famished.” He laughed and I followed suit.
