Diana’s POV
Benjamin took something out his pocket and when I looked I took a closer I knew it was a wooden knife engraved with many symbols. He handed it to make sure our fingers brushed causing a chill to run through my arms and travel throughout my body again. It happened before but I couldn’t believe the cause of it was his touch. Was he trying some witch stuff with me? I couldn’t tell, I didn’t have a radar for that.
I broke away from his blue eyes still stuck on me to look down at the knife in my hand. It was lightweight and easy to grasp at the handle. I noticed the edge and point of it was not sharp, rather dull.
"What am I supposed to do with this?" I hope he didn't expect me to try and cut myself with this and make a blood omen as I have seen in movies. He saw my expression and rolled his baby blue eyes at me.
"Hold it, for now, do not let it out of your site since it will keep you from losing control of your powers as they come stronger each day," Benjamin said almost like the reading of the book, I glanced at him and confirmed that he, in fact, was.
"That's all. Nothing is going to happen? No lightening is going to strike me or a fire is going to magically start out of nowhere because I'm holding on to this?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yup. That's the sole purpose of this wooden knife. It only has one job. To stop you from going apeshit." James busted out laughing with what Benjamins said while I tried my best not to throw the knife at his head. It wouldn't cut him but it would still hurt him. I almost forgot how annoying my brother can be.
"It just seems too good to be true," I muttered.
"It's the first step to controlling our powers. That knife is going to act like a water filter but for your magic. It's going to take the bad chemicals away and leave you with something drinkable, something you can easily control right now because you're inexperienced." Benjamin said with his eyes glued down to the book.
"And when I don't need to carry this anymore? What then?" I asked curious, spinning around in circles in my desk chair as a way to entertain myself for a
second before getting serious. Benjamin’s eyes snapped up towards mine at the question I was asking.
"Then you'll move on to black magic."
Angelo’s POV
Never underestimate a pissed off mate. Anger was trying to cloud my mind from thinking clearly but I stayed cool-headed by thinking of all the ways I could kill Benjamin when I see him. I have connections with a lot of dangerous people, not to mention I have an angry father on my side that will do anything to help me find Diana. It doesn't take long for my answers with those odds on my side.
The two packs were currently working together with ease, quickly searching for any clues. Someone said Benjamin could be involved in magic. It was hard taking his advice since it sounded silly, but Diana's father told me to take any kind of advice no matter how strange it may seem. We were dealing with a witch werewolf, that was new. Never had got up a witch of any kind, they usually stayed in their lane with that. I didn't ask questions mostly because I didn't have the time too, orders needed to given as to where we should start searching. Besides my mind was only on getting Dianna back safely.
"Ready, Angelo?" Mr. Harris asked me as we approached a campsite filled with rouges. They were in a circle looking at the commotion two individuals were making over stolen food. I kept my eyes on a young and skinny wolf with curly black hair who was pushed to the dirt ground roughly.
“Fight him!” Someone shouted in the crowd before the rest cheered. I noticed they were all half dressed in the only ragged clothes holding up their modesty. A group of fifteen living out here for months. We need to know if they were involved with Diana’s disappearance a group of my best fighters was all around waiting for my call.
When someone was on top of the young werewolf punching him I nodded and gave the go. “Ready," I whistled loudly enough to break up the commotion and for my people to run in on the rogues who were surrounded in seconds. Many quickly shifted to there wolf forms as their option of fighting against us. There will be no fight and any casualties if I can help it.
“I am Alpha Angelo,” I shouted to quiet down the growling noises. Walking towards the circle of rouges I noticed the young werewolf who was beaten up by everyone seconds ago run up and try to attack me. Being an alpha meant that I was one of the bad guys for them since we don't take in rouges. They needed to have a bad history. I laid a hand on his chest holding him back easily as he squirmed to get his hands on me. “I suggest you let me talk before attacking, boy.”
When he realized that no one else had started fighting after he attacked me his wide black eyes stared into mine in fear. I was letting him see the darkness that was taking over my mind with every passing day I didn’t have her next to me.
I pushed him back towards his pack who just let him fall onto the ground, not one single hand reached out to help him get up.
“We are in the search for Diana Harris, and Benjamin Redwood,” I said crossing my arms as the grown-ups stepped forward to meet me. A tall man with brown hair and black eyes was the first to meet my eyes head on. A lady with short black hair and brown eyes came up behind him looking at everyone before meeting my eyes.
“Why would we tell you? There’s nothing you guys have ever done for us.” The man said holding back his son from attacking me again. He sure was stubborn little thing.
“Well, there is something we can do for you again if you have any information,” I said uncrossing my arms, watching him wonder if he should take my offer. “You have a large family, we would give you a weekly food supply for months.”
The lady gulped and licked her lips as the sounds of my words. They had thirteen kids who varied in age but didn’t take away from the fact that is was a lot of mouths to feed.
“We might know where Alpha Benjamin Redwood is...” The man started to say before getting a hesitate nod from his wife.
Great finally I could make that asshole pay, it has been four days since I’ve gotten a lead in days.
