Benjamin’s POV
Time went by too fast with her next to my side, before I knew it I was walking down the stairs towards an awaiting Angelo. The sour expression on his face changed when he laid eyes on Diana. I didn’t like seeing the look of love on his face, it made me want to punch it right off of him. The rest of his people were surrounding the house in hundreds making it impossible for me to escape.
Angelo actually took the time to look nice for her. A clean-shaven chin with his pitch black hair combed back with gel. He wore all black with the knees to his pants ripped as to give him better movement with his body if he needed it. I couldn’t help but notice his muscles grew bigger in the two weeks I last saw him, his white shirt clung to every bulging muscle. While I, on the other hand, haven’t taken a shower in a couple days actually wearing the same clothes I had on yesterday. My self-esteem went down a notch comparing myself to him so tried to stop.
He flashed Diana a smile never taking his eyes off of her. Glancing at her I saw she was smiling back with rose tinted cheeks. She was blushing and all he did was a smile. I stopped my jealousy from getting the best of me as we finally stood feet away from him.
“Come here, Angel,” He said to Diana and she automatically started walking towards him in a heartbeat. I stopped her by extending an arm in front of her since she was to my side.
“The deal was that you saw her,” I said irking Angelo as he turned those grey eyes at me, glaring.
“You aren’t exactly in the position to make deals. I have you surrounded.” Angelo said murdering me with his eyes as Diana grabbed my arm and moved it away forcefully.
“Let’s make an agreement to work together against Jason,” Dian said not letting go of my arm, clouding my mind with emotions. I smirked at Angelo when he noticed her hand still holding onto me before giving Diana my attention.
“I’m not going to work with him,” Angelo almost practically snarled, his hate amid directly at me, as Diana let me go. I still felt the aftershock of her touch as little mini chills throughout my body.
“Please, Angelo,” Diana begged with her beautiful big brown eyes. I watched her leave my side as she slowly walk towards him. My heart clenched as I watched her give him her full attention that I craved. “You have no idea what is going on, Benjamin is the only one who can help us right now.”
The pleasure of being the one she relied on made me smile.
“Diana...” Angelo said with pained eyes as Diana waited for his response. “You’re really going to make me fight next to him instead of fighting against him. The one man I’ve been wanting to kill for two weeks.”
“Yes,” She whispered scrunching up her eyebrows with pain written on her face as she realized that she was doing exactly that. “Or you can’t have me back yet.”
Angelo stayed quite, processing her words. “You’re going to drive me mad,” He said sighing and closing the distance to wrap his arms around her. I swallowed a bitter taste in my mouth at the sight of her tiny body in his arms.
She was meant to be in my arms, so it hurt so much to see her with Angelo, looking at him with unconditional love. I heard it comes it to bite in the ass differently, just never thought I’d be facing this kind of pain. An emotional pain that caused internal pain and discomfort. She was the one I knew was for me.
I had to look away when he bent down to kiss those rosy plump lips. The pain in my chest grew until it was hard to breathe. To make it stop I interrupted them by saying, “This is James. Diana’s dead gay brother.”
“Gee, thanks for that title,” James said crossing his arms over his chest annoyed. Diana and Angelo broke away and his grey eyes snapped over to James like he just realized he was there all this time.
"Sorry," I said realizing my wording was wrong there.
“I almost forgot,” Diana said turning towards James. “This is my older brother, James. He faked his death because he was the next to be alpha and mated to the beta of our pack, Cam.” Diana explained it to Angelo who looked really taken back by the news. His eyes were wide as he realized Cam was gay all this time when he secretly thought he liked Diana.
“Oh,” Angelo said extending his hand out to James who slowly uncrossed his arms when he saw his outreached hand. “Nice to meet you. I’m Diana’s mate.”
“I know,” James simply said slowly shaking his hand in a tight grip. “Hope I get to know you better when this is all done.”
After that awkward introduction, Diana got out of Angelo’s unwilling hands. All eyes were on her as she recomposed herself. “What’s the plan?” She asked turning to look at me while sweeping a strand of curly hair behind her ear.
“Well since Angelo has already given your position away to Jason I guess we will wait him out here,” I said scratching the back of my head as that was the best plan I could come up with. All other plans were ruined when Angelo showed up. “Set up traps for when he arrives.”
“Okay,” Diana said nodding her head in agreement as Angelo stayed quiet for once. “You go do that while I talk to Angelo alone.”
I narrowed my eyes on her as she ordered me around, I was not in the mood for it. “James you will stay with her at all costs,” I ordered, hearing him huff in response. I knew he wanted to walk outside to see Cam but that will have to wait on my watch. I didn’t trust them alone together.
