Diana’s POV
Angelo was almost back to himself. His tanned skin was gleaming perfect again, giving me urges to run his hands over it. I held back as it was not the best time, we had to figure out how to win against this witch. He was some twisted fuck for making me believe he actually wanted to help someone with cancer.
"How powerful is he?" I questioned Benjamin as we paced through the trees carefully.
He didn't look at me in the eyes but I saw the fear in them. "Very powerful. That man no longer has a soul from all the black magic. I got real close to the necklace, it's going to put some dark shit on whoever touches it. It basically has a mind of its own and it doesn't want to leave him. He's become a host."
Angelo stopped and turned to look at us very stiffly. "I'll break that stone with my fists if I need to, but I'm guessing you have a plan so no one touches it?" Angelo's grey eyes were darker than I remembered but still captivated me. Those thick black eyelashes framed them so nicely.
"I actually don't have a plan so you can crush it if you think that's going to do anything. But then again, I would not recommend that since there's a possibility the power locked up would then transfer to you. You don't want to be anything part of that dark side." Benjamin had us standing there rethinking how much of a threat we were up against.
Angelo moved to my side quickly as the sounds of leaves moving from the trees grew closer to us. We looked up to see my brother James and Cam
crouching in between the branches still in human form. Their eyes were the only give away they weren't since they were using their werewolf eyes to see in the dark. Inside those eyes, their wolf was lurking and ready to transform at their call. I was quite surprised they managed to find us and be sneaky about it.
They landed on their bare feet, softly hitting the cold dirt ground. I found myself in my brother's arms and he hugged me relieved. I let myself relish the feeling of safety that only he could provide as a big brother before we pulled away. The scent of sweet pine cones lingered.
"Our father will be okay, thanks to you," James said making me feel slightly good that I was able to help in this fight. It seemed like I was the cause of all this chaos. Technically I was.
"That is a relief, is everyone else back home okay?" I questioned looking at Cam. His warm brown eyes crinkled as he flashed me a smile.
"They are fine, we handled the few who came towards the house instead of you," Cam said glancing at Angelo's bloodied shirt. "What happened?"
"I got caterpillar fucked by magic," Angelo whispered to Cam even though we could all hear him.
"A huge centipede not a caterpillar," I said making Angelo shuddered. "I was trying to lessen the memory of it." Angelo groaned.
"So what's going on with Jason?" James question Benjamin who was sharpening a crystal clear knife. Where did he pull that out from and how come I didn't notice?
"Jason retreated his undead wolfs back to him and they are currently circling him while he casts a spell to open the stone to its full potential. That could unleash something very powerful. He's breaking the shields so it's going to take a while." Benjamin said crossing his arms and pacing. "We need to get through his wolves and stop him by taking the stone. Only whoever touches that stone is going to get the full negative energy it comes with it. I already have bad blood from using black magic so I can't do it." Benjamin's looked at Angelo's head on.
Those ocean blue eyes stared at him for a while. I could feel the unspoken words Benjamin didn't say as Angelo put an arm around my shoulders.
It was either me or Angelo.
"I will take care of the stone," Angelo said glancing down me. I saw in his eyes that he was ready to take that evil magic by the horns. He was definitely strong, physically, but magic also attacks mentally against those walls that make up who you truly are. Benjamin warned me about magic sensing fear and targeting it. I began to worry about him.
"What happens after?" I asked Benjamin. "What do we do with him?"
"He was most likely being controlled by this stone by now so we will cast a spell together to control it and seal it somewhere it can't be found. This man Jason will slowly go back to himself over time after the effects wear off." Benjamin said glancing at James and Angelo. "Unless you guys want to kill him?"
We all glanced at each other and saw the anger boiling inside of us from our fallen people. We all wanted payback, but we weren't going to hold it against this man. The magic world was more powerful than anyone could have believed. I think we can see for ourselves if this man really was evil first. Without magic, we can handle him.
"Father would save him, even though he almost died in his hands," James whispered to me and I nodded in response.
"I know," I said up looking at James. He was contemplating this decision as well. "We all know how powerful unknown forces can be."
After figuring out how we were going to get through the wolves we took a few minutes to prepare. Angelo took this as the chance to bring me into his warm arms again. I felt a rush of warmth radiate from him and heat up my cold body. It felt really good to be surrounded by him in this crisis.
Those soft lips of his found mine and danced with mine so tender and sweet I didn't want him to pull away. The way he looked down at me after had my heart running over time. His grey eyes were shining and those kissable lips were smiling. "You'll be coming to my hometown after this, love. We need a honeymoon for the newly soulmates."
I laughed at his way of putting that, "Take me away Top Alpha." I said dramatically swooning. What did that mean after all? Was it a new title?
He brought me into his arm gently saying, "I stopped listening after take me,". That deep voice of his was hard to miss. Angelo's hooded eyes were looking down at me, too sexy to ignore.
His teasing was something else and I was all for it.
"We are going to pretend like we weren't here for that whole conversation," James said breaking our passionate stare.
I turned to see them all standing around awkwardly. I also noticed a Benjamin had walked off a little. Somehow knowing that he was mated to me when I was mates with Angelo made this whole situation even more awkward and painful. I couldn't imagine how I would feel if Angelo had another mate already. I sighed and kissed Angelo one last time before getting ready for the fight. This wasn't the time for that. I had a couple of spells I've been practicing on. This time my dirty Diana moves were actually going to be pretty badass.
