Alpha Lorn kept his word and the next morning he visited with Alpha Mark and the Moon Touched pack. While there he apologized and offered his allegiance, which Mark accepted. The Moon Touch pack forgave him once they witnessed their Alpha Luna holding no grudges towards the man.
As normal, the visit from another Alpha and the return of many pack members from the Blood Meadow pack was a reason to celebrate. Not to mention, all who wished to blood bond to the Alpha Luna would do so at the celebration. Nathan worried about whom to send into Lucifer’s circle and Mark worried about how they were going to accomplish the feat.
Throughout the day, Alpha Lorn observed the child-like behavior of Luna Katia. It amazed him that she was a goddess and sister to the moon goddess. She was so filled with exuberance towards everything she did. He did observe many times her wolf was in control while she played many of the games with the children and when she played practical jokes on her friends. No one acted as if it was abnormal for Luna to behave like a child. Both packs seem to accept and understand why she acted as she did.
Alpha Mark came and stood next to him, “She is amazing, is she not?”
“Yes, Alpha she is. I can see what I threw away, but I am happy she received a second chance and can only hope some day I will too.” Alpha Lorn replied. Still watching the game of tag, she was playing with the children. He asked, “No one cares that her wolf is in control of her so much?”
Smirking like he was about to reveal a secret, Mark motioned toward the group of children and Katia, “Ah but Alpha Lorn, is Aza truly in control? Or is Katia allowing her forwards to enjoy a pup’s game?”
Stunned, Lorn said, “You are kidding. She has that much control over her wolf as young as they are mentally?”
“No, it is not control, it is that they are one and always have been. It is why Aza, her wolf, was able to force the shift at so young of an age and That was almost instantaneously.” Mark revealed, adding, “Kelp and I were there witnessing what we thought was her first shift.”
“What do you mean you thought was her first shift?” Alpha Lorn wanted to know.
“Well, Doc and doctor Opie seem to think that Aza forced a shift at a much younger age after they saw the results of some x-rays they did. They think she may have been about four or five years old but are not sure,” Mark answered.
“Does Nathan know this? What does Katia say?” Lorn quizzed.
Mark chuckled, “Of course Nathan knows. Nothing about Katia is kept from him. Katia did not remember that the shift had happened and when she asked Aza, her wolf did not wish to speak about it.”
Just then Nathan joined them with Kane, “Gentlemen, I suggest you move to a safer area. My little mate is bound to notice you standing here watching the game of tag and will have you playing before you even realize what you are doing.”
“Haha, really you sound as if you speak from experience, Alpha.” Lorn laughed.
Nathan grimaced and nodded toward the group, running around laughing and yelling “tag, your it” and then said, “You have no idea what that woman can convince you to do, and she barely speaks. Those eyes say it all.”
Kane jumped in with, “Yeah, but don’t forget she will", link" in a heartbeat explaining how she did not get to play as a child and who is she hurting playing as an adult. The next thing you know, half the pack is playing. I have heard more laughter and seen more adults playing children’s game than when I was a child.”
Dalia and Kelp walked into the conversation with arms around each other’s waist and Dalia interjected, “Brother, you do not seem to mind, and I have heard you laughing like a hyena many times since you found our Katia.”
“On a serious note, though,” Kane said. “The issue of how we are going to infiltrate Lucifer’s circle is easy.”
“How so?” Mark asked.
“I am a god, so I can travel from one realm to another. I may also ask my Uncle Cephalus when his son Lucifer will be in the earth realm. Lucifer can travel back and forth with ease as he does not live in the god's realm and does not have to ask permission from Zeus to travel or stay here.” Kane educated them.
“Discovering when Lucifer is in the earth realm will allow us to know where he is and send out spies to become part of his earth army.” Nathan added hesitantly, as if he was not sure of the facts.
Nodding in the affirmative, Kane continued, “Yes, my dad is sure that is what grandfather has put him up to. Grandfather has him building an army for him and searching for Katia.”
Kelp then added, “The intel we have gathered so far is that they are aware that Katia survived Alpha Thomas’ torture and abuse. They know that she was rejected by her fated mate and then disappeared. They also know that most of the Blood Meadow pack has disappeared with her, and no one can find any trace of them.”
Kane then picked the telling up, “Dad says grandfather is furious that she has disappeared and even tried to have one of his cronies threaten Selene, but Theia was visiting when this took place and let's just say a message was sent back to grandfather.”
“Message?” Nathan asked.
“Well, the crony will no longer be able to make a woman happy physically.” Kane shuddered as he said this.
Nathan stepped in the middle of everyone and said quietly as he watched his mate approaching them, “Okay, then we will wait for Kane to find out where Lucifer is, and we will send in the spies. Now here comes my mate. I hope you all are up for a game of tag.”
Tag was not the game they ended up playing. The children wanted to play hide-n-seek in the forest and Katia knew that Nathan did not like her or the children going off to play there by themselves. He wanted warriors there for protection because the woods were too close to the border of their lands and rogue territory.
They played with the children most of the afternoon, and it always amazed Nathan that no matter how old or serious a person was, once Katia got them to be part of the games, they acted just like a child and had a ball.
This is exactly how Alpha Lorn behaved and exclaimed when it was time to start the blood bond ceremony that he had not had that much fun in years. He also said that he was going to insist that his pack start spending time like the Snow Moon and Moon Touched packs do. The two packs live side by side, helping one another constantly, it is more like they share everything and except everyone for who they are. They are there for one another no matter what and the love that is felt for Katia is almost tangible.
Lorn wondered if it was something to do with the fact that she was a goddess or if it was something else. He felt someone watching him and turned to see Katia staring at him.
Katia cocked her head and smiled at him like she had a secret. Just then he heard a sweet voice in his head whisper, “I think it is a secret you may like, Lorn.” And then the voice was gone. Lorn wondered if he had imagined it.
