Nathan watched the other Alpha’s face as the recognition of who was standing in front of him registered. Of course, his little Katia did not disappoint. She glanced at the other Alpha as he screamed out “YOU!” and smiled, then looked back at him and said, “What do I need to give my approval to mate?”
Gathering her up and settling Katia on his lap because Nathan did not like the other Alpha that close to his mate, he said, “Alpha Lorn has brought more of your people to the Moon Touched pack, and he wishes to address them with an apology and offer allegiance.”
Alpha Lorn grimaced slightly at hearing what her true voice sounded like but recovered before she turned her attention to him, “Thank you for bringing those who wish to be with us and for the offer of an apology and allegiance.” Folding her hands in her lap she quietly said, “You really do not need to apologize. The offer is enough, and before you offer the alliance you should know what you will taking on as our friend.”
She then looked at Nathan to give the explanation, so she did not strain her throat any more than needed. Nathan ran through the pertinent details of Katia’s life and who she really is. Why she is here, how she ended up in the Blood Meadow pack and the real reason for the state of her injuries. Yes, they were caused by Alpha Thomas and his warped views on mates and relationships. However, he and Kane have discussed it a bit and think that their grandfather may be behind some of Thomas’ behavior. They just can’t fathom how yet.
Nathan eventually stopped talking and explained that right now they are enjoying what time they are given without anyone knowing where Katia is. Katia spoke up at this point, “Once my grandfather discovers I am alive and here, he will stop at nothing to get me. I do not want those who do not choose to fight to be afraid. We have members who are willing to fight so that the elderly, children, those who have been disabled can help with supplies and meals.”
“Luna, I would still like you to know that I am sincerely sorry for my treatment of you and will regret it until the day I die.” Aza popped in, turning Katia’s eyes completely white, “As an apology gift, my girly and I will take a diamond tiara.”
Kalen, Nathan’s wolf, snickered in his head, “I love her immaturity. It makes her pure and I hope the two of them never lose that. They are truly genuine in their feelings and friendships.
Nathan agreed but informed Alpha Lorn, “Pay no attention to our Aza, my mates wolf. As you know their history, she is still very immature and likes to joke and play. She does not mean any harm and her playfulness can be contagious.”
Lorn smiled at Aza and Katia, saying, “No worries, I took no offense. Miss Aza is correct. They do need a tiara to show that they are a true goddess.” He then stood with his right fist over his heart and states, “Alpha Nathan and Luna Katia, I Alpha Lorn of the Starlight Pack, offer my allegiance, loyalty, and friendship. I swear if it is within my power to give aid at anytime you ask, I will. This offer and all it entails for the Snow Moon pack and the Moon Touched pack. Please take my words to heart and know that I will always ensure no harm comes to anyone in this pack when I am present.”
Aza spoke with Katia quietly, so the others could not hear. She is growing to like this Alpha Lorn and would like his friendship. She tells Katia, “I think he really means what he says, and it is okay to accept his apology and offer. However, I am going to ask him for an alliance ring so when I put my hand out people may kiss it,” she laughs.
Nathan stiffens when he hears that Aza is still in control of Katia. She must be okay with Aza coming through, and then he heard Aza’s next demand. “To seal this allegiance, Sir Alpha Lorn, you may purchase us a ring.”
Nathan shook his head saying, “Alpha Lorn, on behalf of my Luna, my pack, and me, I accept your offer.” As an afterthought he added, “You will have to address the Moon Touched pack, and they will have the right to accept your offer themselves.”
“Thank you, Alpha Nathan, and Luna Katia. May I say Alpha Nathan, you have your hands full of your new mate and her powerful family. I hope you enjoy and understand the gift you have been given.” Lorn looked sadly at Katia, knowing if he tried to win her back, she would never leave Nathan. She is a different person with her mate by her side.
Cully, his wolf, interrupted his thoughts, “It is okay Lorn. Fate has a way of working things out the way they are supposed to. Our chance is not over, and I know we are going to get a second chance mate. Just be ready for her and do not jump to conclusions.”
“Don’t worry Cul my friend, I will never do that again.” Lorn swears. Nathan is talking to him again and snaps his head up to pay attention. “ I have sent a message to my Gamma, Kane, to take the Moon Touched pack members to their pack and to let them know we will be visiting. I have also informed Alpha Mark, and he said if it is alright with you, he will formally meet you tomorrow. He is busy raising another barn before the harsh conditions of winter arrive.”
“May I ask Alpha, how are you ensuring that your mate’s grandfather does not know where she is and does not have a mole in your pack?” Lorn wanted to know.
“We have been talking but were not sure where to even start” Nathan responded back while rubbing Katia’s back. They had moved to the couch next to where Alpha Lorn was sitting. Katia leaned into his chest cuddling and was listening. Nathan knew she was tired, and it would only be a matter of time before she was asleep in his lsp.
Lorn lowered the volume of his voice, “ I would say that since Lucifer betrayed the sisters, he would be our best bet to help us get close to the grandfather.”
Nathan agreed, and the two alphas spent the rest of the day and evening making plans to send a person from each pack to infiltrate Lucifer’s circle and retrieve what information they could. The plan would be simple. There would be three pack members that were best friends and troublemakers. Their pack’s ranking members have had enough of their shenanigans and exiled them to become rogues.
Lucifer will snatch them up and befriend them while pumping them for information. However, all the information they feed him will be made up and untrue. Once they gain the information of where the grandfather or the girls’ grandmother is, they can decide what to do next.
The three of them had a quiet dinner in Nathan’s office and spoke quietly, getting to know each other and about their packs. Lorn spoke at length of how excited those he escorted to them would be when finding out Katia was alive.
Finally, Nathan asked one of the teens in the game room, to show Alpha Lorn to his room for the night and wish him a good night.
Katia smiled sweetly at him and kissed his cheek before following her mate out of the room. Alpha Lorn called out to them, “Nathan and Katia thank you for everything, especially your forgiveness and Katia, someday you will have to tell me about each scar you have received. I want to know how you got it. Who gave it to you and why?”
Frowning, Katia cocked her head slightly as her mate retorted, “Get in line Lorn. She is already going to have to tell me the same and I will be the one to end anyone who is still alive that hurt her.”
Lorn nodded, saying, “You will have help then.”
