The next morning, Nathan awoke, and Katia was gone already. She was gone already but did leave a note. The note said that she and the girls were going to finish building their woman's shed on the Moon Touched lands. He had given her permission to build a special building anywhere she wanted between the two packs. The building was for her and her girlfriends to hang out and do whatever they wanted. Katia was so excited when she asked, he did not have the heart to say no. What she did not know was Christmas was coming, and he planned on filling the inside with all the state of the art crafting, gaming, video, and music/dancing equipment he could find for them. He had taken the floor plans and enlarged the building to almost the size of a small packhouse for them. He had the feeling that eventually the men would be hanging out there as well as the women. So, he made sure a full kitchen was installed also.
That afternoon, as he and the other men were sitting down to lunch, the women came running in like ten-year-olds yelling and screaming about who won and who didn’t. Katia, Dalia, and even Coral were running through the pack house, into the dining room, and launched themselves into their prospective men’s laps. Coral’s man was Doc, of course. Katia said she knew they loved each other and just needed a push and that was why she assigned them to work together on the new hospital for the Moon Touched pack.
Kelp reprimanded Dalia, “Honey, you are a grown woman and should conduct yourself as such.”
Dalia leaned back on his lap with wide eyes, “Excuse me? I am eighteen years old. I am not even legal to drink. Nathan isn’t telling Katia to act like a grown woman.”
Kelp’s response was, “Katia is a goddess and your luna.” Like that said it all.
To which Dalia took offense and informed her mate, “Well, my Luna says all us women can be goddesses. So, I am a goddess too.”
Nathan spat his drink out, “Goddess Selene, help me. I do not need any more goddesses in this pack.”
“Did you call my dear brother-in-law? Why, what is wrong with more goddesses in your pack? You, my dear brother-in-law, are about to have very important visitors, so you may want to watch what you say about your in-laws.” Selene said, appearing.
Katai jumped off his lap yelling, “Lili! What are you doing here?”
“I have come to see you, sister. I have news. Papa was able to find out who betrayed us this last time.” Selene said, hugging her sister.
“Really? Who? Come sit down. Have some lunch.” Katia was leading her sister to the table. Looking around she said, “Everyone, this is my sister Selene, the other half of the moon goddess. Selene, this is everyone.”
Laughing, her sister said, “I know who everyone is, and I also have a favor to ask of you.”
Katia took her sister’s hand, “Anything for you.”
Selene looked at Nathan, saying, “I am aware of what she has already done, but it is not just for me, it is also for her, Alpha. If you have something to say, then say it. For I can read your mind if I wish, and I can tell by your face you are not happy with me.”
Nathan turned red in the face, “Goddess, I mean no disrespect, but your sister has had a very hard time dealing with the after affects of the abuse she has suffered, and I do not understand why something cannot be done to ease her suffering.”
Selene sadly answered, “Because that is the way of the gods, and it cannot be changed. She will eventually make it through, she will come home, and we will try again at another time.”
“Enough with this talk, tell me sister, who was it that betrayed us?” His little mate cut on with authority.
“First, I want to say that you all speak through the mind link so easily that I forget that you cannot speak well, Titi. I will try to remember to just link. Otherwise, I sound like I am talking to myself and just one way.” Selene laughed. “As for who betrayed us, it was Lucifer.”
Katia looked like someone stabbed a knife through her heart at the news and asked, “But why? I thought he was happy living the angel's life and watching over humans.”
“Apparently, Lucifer committed some kind of crime against the humans because he thinks Zeus loves them more than the angels. Zeus banished him. Took his wings, which I heard was painful, and now he resides in his own realm which has become known as Hell.” Selene explained.
Nathan interrupted, “That does not explain why he betrayed you two.”
Sighing, Selene quipped, “Patience, my dear brother-in-law. I am getting to that. So, after Zeus banished Lucifer and took his wings, Uranus sent one of his minions to visit him and tell him of the favoritisms Zeus has for our family and the gifts he bestowed on us at our birth. Since we were so close, and he knew we were trying to live on the Earth realm, but not why, Lucifer told the minion where you were and who you had been born to. His jealousy overrode his love for us even though we are cousins.”
Dalia popped out with, “Wait, you have angels in your family also?”
Smiling Selene answered, “Well yes, the titans knew they could not last forever and that the time for the titans would end, so they gave birth to the next generation of immortals. The titans are now trying to take a step back, hence the war between our parents and our grandfather.”
Kane then asked, “Cousin, does your grandfather or anyone else know where we are at this time?”
“No, I do not believe so. Mama said that papa would return soon, and we would know more. Uncle Crius said that Uranus is still imprisoned for now, but eventually, he is going to find a way out. We need to release grandmother somehow first. We are sure she does not know what grandfather has been doing and when she finds out he will be lucky to be able to breathe when she gets done with him.” Selene said.
Mark wanted to know, “Why doesn’t someone just release her? Can’t Zeus release her?”
This time Katia answered, “No, Grandfather had her imprisoned for getting our father and his brother to turn against him. No one knows where grandfather is having her held. That is one of the issue mama and papa are working on.”
Katia stood and walked to Nathan. He immediately understood what she needed and picked her up, putting her in his lap. This he could understand and give her. Reassurance that he would keep her safe from these titans, gods, or whatever they are. Kissing her ear, he promised himself he would try harder to understand her and remember in many ways she is still just a child in a woman’s body.
Selene then announced, “Nathan, I would prepare for a visit from the parents soon. Papa had promised mama that he would bring her to the earth realm to see Titi when he returned. Mama is worried about her and all that she has gone through this time. Mama thinks she may need her mama for a bit.”
Nathan smiled and said, “Although I am not happy with a bunch of immortals running around on my pack land, I do think it would be a good idea for Katia to have her family around for a bit.”
Clapping her hands and bouncing up and down in her seat, Selene let out a squeal. Kane looked at Nathan with an" I told you so look and laughed.
Selene then said, “Titi, I have one more thing, and it is a big favor to ask of you, but mama suggested I should.”
Katia sat forward on Nathan’s lap, and he tightened his grip around her, so she did not fall off. “I told Lili anything for you just ask.”
“Well” Selene hedged, “You know how I chose our mates in each of our lives here, and they have not been the best choices? I have finally gotten it right with this one for you.” She said, nodding at Nathan. “But it took me more than once in this life. So, I was wondering if you would choose a mate for me?”
Katia bounced out of Nathans’ lap at the same time as Selene jumped out of her chair and the two of them were hugging and jumping up and down in a circle. Everyone else could hear the sister’s link because they were too excited to block them. “Oh my! Yes Lili, I will choose you a mate. I will choose the best mate out there for you! I love you and want you to be so happy here with me. We are going to win this time, and you will be loved and living a normal life to. Then we can do our goddess jobs together again here with our mates.”
Selene left shortly after that and everyone else decided to go for a run. Upon their return, it was time for dinner and the girls spoke of nothing but who would make a good match for the moon goddess Selene.
That night in bed, after some intense love-making, that was all Katia talked about until she fell asleep. Nathan’s last thought before falling asleep was he was going to have to protect all the single males from his mate and her quest to find her sister a mate.
