Moon Touched

134 A Present For The Angels pov

Ch. 134 / 142 May 02, 2026

Crael and Lorna sat in the common room of the Snow Moon packhouse across from Gaia. Both felt something important was happening and wondered where Nathan and Katia were. It was too quiet for a packhouse. It didn't matter what time of day or night; something was always happening in the house. There would always be someone in the kitchen getting something to eat or wolves hanging out in the game room shooting pool or playing video games. The theatre room was constantly playing some movies that had an audience in constant attendance. Tonight, none of that was happening.

Where was everyone? Gaia cleared her throat to get their attention. "I know you're concerned that you see none of your friends. Let me assure you they are fine. I have put them into a deep sleep so their bodies and minds may evolve as the prophecy predicts. They are guarded by the other gods and goddesses until all is accomplished."

Crael thought he understood why they had been summoned and volunteered, "We are at your service, great mother. Tell us where you need us, and we will do what you wish."

Gaia graced them with a smile that she normally reserved for her granddaughters. These two were dealt the crappiest hand in life, and Zeus had asked her to help him make things right for them. She had agreed partly because she wanted to help ease the guilt Zeus felt over Crael and partly because she really liked these two angels. They deserved to have a chance to love and have children. They had proven their loyalty to the gods, the wolves, and all those accepted by their packs. Yes, they were a part of the packs, although they no longer lived as wolves. She looked into Lorna's sweet face and said, "No, my dears, we have not called you here to help with this part of the prophecy unless that is what you really want."

Confused, Lorna inquired, "Why are we here, then, if not to be of help?"

"You are here because, with the evolution of the wolves about to happen, I can offer you both something that would make the wrongs done to you right," she explained to them.

Both continued to stare at her for a few moments. Finally, Crael took Lornas's hand and said, "I am sorry, Gaia, we are still confused about what you are speaking of. What wrong was done to use? We are fine, and no one has done anything to us. Everyone is wonderful with us when we can visit." Lorna said, "Yes, we are well accepted and loved by the packs, and they think of us as part of their family, even though we cannot be here all the time."

"I am not speaking of this life. I am speaking of the wrongs done to you in your other life. Crael, your death was a by-product of a mistake Zeus made. Lorna, your death was a by-product of my mate's hunger for revenge." She paused to let her words sink in. She could see why Zeus made these two angels; their innocence was real, and their selflessness went beyond anything she had ever seen.

Lorna was the one to voice what they were both wondering, "How can you right the wrongs done to us when we were alive? We cannot return to those lives. Our bodies are gone, and I don't know if I could live as someone else." Crael squeezed her hand to support her and let her know he agreed.

Oh, my sweet girl, I am Gaia. I can do things no other god, goddess, titan, demon, etc... can do. I am of the earth. I know exactly where your bodies are and have kept them in good condition as I do with all who are given back to me." She informed them. She took a drink of her water and rubbed her rounded belly, then continued, "The stories of people's bodies decomposing are just that. You care enough to return to me what carried your life force. I can do nothing but care for that vessel for you with the same love you had for it."

Finally, Crael realized what she was saying: "Are you telling us that we could live again? Live as wolves? Would we have our wolves back? I mean, Lorna could keep Lily but could not shift, and I was not as lucky. My Wes did not survive my death."

"Yes, you will return with your wolves. Crael, Your wolf is fine. He has been with Katia all this time, waiting for the time to come when he is reincarnated to another." She told him. She then asked him, "Would you want your old name of Lars back, or do you want to keep your angel name?"

The angel was quick to answer, "I will keep Crael. Lars has no one to return to. Crael has a family and wishes to stay with them and his mate."

Gaia nodded her head in understanding and replied, "So be it. I will put you both into the same deep sleep the others are in. That is if you choose to live as wolves again. While in this sleep, your bodies will change and mutate into the latest evolution of the Night Whispers pack wolves."

"What do you think, mate? Want to live as wolves and make pups with me?" Crael asked Lorna.

Beeming, Lorna screamed a resounding, "Yes!"

Gaia said, "Sir Demon, please take these two angels to the room I prepared for them." Turning back to Crael and Lorna, she said, "Get yourselves ready as if you were going to bed for the night. I will be there briefly to put you into deep sleep."

Demon responded, "Yes, madam." He waited for the two angels to thank Gaia and hug her. She hugged and kissed both of them. She really liked these two angels and hoped their second chance at life was happier than their first.

As they left with Demon, Zeus entered the room, "Thank you, Gaia."

"It is the least I can do for them. It was not their fault that our irresponsible behaviors took them from life too early. At least you recognized it and did what you could for them. Many of my children and grandchildren care not if they harm innocents with their manipulations and actions." Gaia told him.

Gaia warned him, "We cannot always right a wrong, but I am happy we can for them. I will ensure that we continue to help guide these wolves through the coming changes."

Zeus agreed and informed Gaia that all the gods and goddesses had decided to do the same. Hyperion and Theia had already started building a small home for themselves in this realm. Gaia laughed and added her opinion: she felt that Hyperion and Theia would not be the only ones building a home here.

Gaia giggled and admitted, "I would like to see what Hyperion calls small, though. Now, let me go and tend to my angels. Gods, I spent almost the whole night on this one interview. At this rate, it will take me at least a week to speak with everyone I need to."

Zeus chortled, "You know you loved speaking with them and having the ability to give them such a gift. I think you may even build yourself a small place here, too. Admit it—you have fallen in love with your granddaughter's creations as much as we have."

"Of course, I have." She declared, "They take after me. They create just as I do. We have the power to take life and give life. Those two girls chose to give rather than take. I am proud of them." Gaia was gone for a few moments and returned. Sitting down next to Zeus, she tapped her finger on her chin, saying, "Who do I want to speak to next? The vamp. The demon, the witches, or the fey?"

"Do you really think the witches will want to evolve and become hybrids?" Zeus wanted to know.

Gaia shook her head and said, "I don't think so, but they could surprise us."

"Maybe you should speak with them next. Then move on to the harder ones from there." Zeus suggested.

"I don't know. I think that Bob the Vampire will be the easiest. So maybe I should ask to speak with the witches and the vampire next," Gaia confessed.

Zeus agreed, "Will you be speaking with them tonight?"

"Goddess, no. I am tired and wish to return to my realm to rest until tomorrow." Gaia yawned. "I will return in the early afternoon tomorrow and continue then."

Zeus stood and helped her to her feet, hooking his arm through hers so she could lean on him. She was heavy with a new life, and he could see it was taking its toll on her. He thought for the millionth time how astounding it was that women could create a life within them. However, poor Gaia was constantly creating and carrying new life. He wondered if she ever tired of it. They both stepped forward and flashed from sight.

Demon stared in the spot they had been and wondered why Mother Earth wanted to speak with him. He was a demon born of the underworld; even she could not change that. He wished to become a wolf and have a mate, maybe even some pups, but that was not for him. Eventually, he would have to return to the underworld and answer Hades for ignoring his directive about little Leo. Demon did not understand why he had not been called back yet. He could only figure it was because Lucifer was staying put in this realm to be with his cousins, and he could help him if there were trouble. Maybe if he did a good job why here with Lucifer, Hades would not be so harsh and take his life. Meanwhile, he would continue guarding young Leo and helping the others when needed.

He would also keep praying to the goddesses and gods for a miracle.
