Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 76. PRINCE CHARMING AND PRINCESS

Ch. 76 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

SOPHIA CASTILLO

I had my doubts about Jessica and I do not know if it was right for me to think so or if it was not because Jessica was being too touchy and it didn't sit well with me.

After clinging to Adrian's arms until he showed her room to her, she didn't stop there. She wanted to have a conversation with him and it annoyed me

I get that there were childhood friends and had to catch up with one another but it was late and she needed to respect boundaries.

Adrian is married and his wife which happens to be me isn't comfortable with him being touchy with other women.

I wondered if Adrian got the hint as I walked away without telling him and I hope he does because of he doesn't then I'd be very angry.

"Are you alright? I heard Adrian say from behind me and I heaved a sigh of relief although I didn't make it obvious.

I strip naked and made my way to the bathroom and Adrian followed suit.

"Are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," I told him but he doesn't look convinced as he kept glancing at me.

"Are you?" He asked.

"Of course I am. Are you expecting that I am not fine?" I curled my lips to the side while staring at him.

"Not that. You left and I..."

"We will talk later. Let me take a quick shower I told him.

"Okay," he said before leaving me.

I came out of the bathroom some minutes later and wore my pajamas.

Adrian left to take his bath and came back later to join me on the bed.

He climbed on the bed and wrapped his arms around me.

"You said you didn't have any friends. It doesn't seem that way to me. How close were you and Jessica?" I just couldn't resist and ask.

"I stopped having friends or getting close to people after my parents died but I never said I didn't have friends before then. Jessica left and some months later I lost my parents," he clarified.

"Oh," I mouthed.

"Like I told you. Jessica is two years older than me but we were still close. She was my closest friend too," he informed me.

"Your closest friend?" I adjusted on the bed, changing my position so that I would be facing him now as I wanted to see his face while talking to him.

"Yes. My closest friend. I had other friends but Jessica and I were close," he said and I resist the urge from rolling my eyes due to jealousy.

"How close were the both of you?" I asked, resisting the urge to ask if they were close enough to kiss.

"What direction are you aiming at? You might want to be open about it," he said and I sighed.

"I am asking just how close you guys were because she seems very comfortable touching you and forgetting that you have a wife," I clarified.

Adrian chuckled.

"It's not funny you know? I'm asking you a question and I do not see anything funny in it," I told him and he pulled the tip of my nose making me frown.

"What was that for?" I pouted.

"You look so cute when you are jealous," he said and I resist the urge from rolling my eyes.

"I'm not cute and stop saying that I am jealous. I am not jealous. I'm asking questions and I don't like how she is trying to talk all the time and ask questions all of the time," I defended.

"You do not have to worry. Trust me when I tell you that there is no bad energy from her. She likes to talk but she isn't a bad person," he said and I let out sarcastic laughter.

"Not a bad person? I'm surprised you are defending her. I mean it has been over fourteen years since you last saw her and you guys are just getting to see one another after then so you can't speak on her behalf or defend her because a lot has changed about her, trust me, the same way a lot had changed about you," I said.

"My baby is so smart. That is true though," he wrapped his legs around me, pulling me impossibly closer to him and I complained due to the fact it felt as if I was being suffocated.

He let go of me a little so that I could breathe and I sighed.

"Did you like her when you were younger?" I couldn't resist the urge to ask.

I needed to know. Adrian loved his personal space but this lady just came and has been touching him and he doesn't seem to mind but I do mind.

"Hmm, let me think," he said and I hit him on his arms lightly.

"You want to think about it? Are you sure you want to think about it?" I glared at him.

"Oh come on sweetheart. You need to ask asking this many questions and say you are not jealous. I mean you are my wife and she is just Jessica, nothing special between the both of us, and like you have said, I haven't spoken to her in a long time and a lot has changed between us so you do not have to be worried, okay?" He raised his brows teasingly at me and I rolled my eyes at him.

"That's what you are saying. You are not even getting the point and you haven't answered any of my questions and so you do not have to worry, just go to sleep," I said, adjusting on the bed so that I would be backing him while I slept on my arms.

Adrian wrapped his arms around my waist and he whispered in my ears. "I did crush on Jessica as a teenager. I mean I was fourteen years old then and she was sixteen and also a very pretty lady but trust me when I tell you that nothing happened and it was just a silly stupid crush any fourteen years old would have on a girl older than them and that's it."

"Are you sure that's it?" I asked and he chuckled.

"Why do I feel you want something to have happened between us? Oh, come on Sophia. Nothing happened. You are my first and last and so stop being angry in a cute way," he kissed my arms.

I exhaled deeply. "If you say so then I believe you," I told him.

"Wait, do you realize that you do not have to believe me because I am trying to make you believe me? I already told you that there was nothing between us in the past. Let's just dead the matter already, I'm exhausted," he sighed.

"I was going to die or anyways. Stop making it seem like I like to start up a lot of drama," I said and he chuckled.

"You do not have to worry about those things. I don't even consider any other woman asides from you to be a worthy one for me. Till death do we apart baby and don't think you will escape," he trailed kisses on my cheek making me giggle.

"You told me Jessica relocated back to the states but you never told me the reason for it," I said.

"Well. Her father is also an investor at my company and so she will be working in the company too," he answered.

"Oh, I see," I muttered.

"I also have to inform you that Jessica wants me to show her around because it has been a long time since she came here and she has forgotten quite some places so she wants me to show her around so she could get familiar with the roads," he informed me.

I trust Adrian. A lot. He hasn't given me any reason to doubt me and has constantly shown me love and compassion and a lot more but I just didn't have a good feeling about Jessica. I never had an issue until I saw her in person and the way she speaks to me makes it seem like because I am twenty, I am too young and don't know what I am doing.

Asides from that, she just gives me very strange energy. One I feel would bring trouble and I hope it is wrong.

"That's not a problem. You can show her around but I will have to start packing ahead for my trip and after that, I have exams too. Your baby is stressed," I cried into Adrian's chest.

"Exams, that's my favorite part of the school," he said and I pulled back to look at him.

"What? Your favorite part of school? Are you kidding me? It's usually the most boring part of the school. I mean you already taught me what I need to know so why do you have to test to see if I know them or not, that's a waste of paper," I cried and he chuckled.

"Trust me when I tell you that it is not. Exams are always fun. It's the best because all you have to do is just answer the question and leave. You don't have to listen to someone talk and that's it. Trust my exam is the best part of school and most people hate it because they do not want to read and reading is a very nice hobby of mine," Adrian expatiates and I clicked my tongue in disbelief.

"How are we married again? You love exams and you love reading?" I scoffed.

"I love reading too. I mean I read novels and that's reading," I clarified and he chuckled.

"The difference is, while you read novels, you recall because it's more about a boy and a girl. A prince charming and a princess and then the princess finds her prince charming and they live happily ever after, isn't that it?" He said and I shook my head in disbelief.

"You have gotten the whole concept wrong baby boo. Firstly there are a lot of events that will take place before the prince charming and the princess gets a happily ever after and trust me there is always a wicked person wanting to ruin their love," I said and he shook his head, looking at me as if I am saying shenanigans.

"What!" I pouted and he chuckled.

"This is the real world baby and stop reading things like that. It doesn't exist," he said, pulling me closer.

I pulled back. "I know it doesn't exist and that's the beauty of it. Having to be in an entirely different world where everything just seems right and the main characters get an happy end..."

"Or a sad end," he interjected and I hit him on his arms.

"You tend to use your fist more than your words woman. I'm sleepy, let's go to bed already, please," he said, pulling me closer while I kept my mouth shut.

"Goodnight my queen," he said.

"Goodnight," I replied before closing my eyes to sleep.
