NOTE: This chapter is about Sarah Cox, Sophia's older sister.
SARAH COX
I panicked when someone grabbed me by my wrist. I tilted my head to see who it was and my heart and stomach sank immediately.
"Where do you think you are going to and by this time of the day?" Mark asked, and I struggled to get my wrist from his hold.
"Let go of me Mark," I cried and he tightened his grip around my wrist.
"You bitch!" He spat out while glaring at me.
"After ruining my life, you think you can escape me to go and see your parents and they will welcome you as the good and forgiving parents that they are?" He scoffed.
"What are you? The prodigal daughter?" He snarked.
"Let go of me, you are hurting me," I cried, and. he scoffed.
"I am hurting you? Just how? You hurt and ruined me and here you are acting like the victim. You can't just leave me, Sarah. After all, we've been through? You are such a bitch!" He spat out and I slapped him right across his face.
My heart skipped the moment I realized what I had done. For a minute, I thought he was going to hit me from the way he glared at me but he didn't do anything.
"You will go back home with me and that's it. Couples fight all of the time and we are not excluded and so we will go back and live as the ruined couples that we are," he said I'm a calm tone and I felt the urge to slap him again but I didn't want to provoke him.
"I won't!" I said sternly.
"I would rather die than go back with you. You have already made it clear that you do not want me so let me go," I told him but his grip around my wrist only tightened.
He let out a lunatic laugh and I glared. I thought he was asleep when I left. I made sure he was before I left so how come. Why is he here?
I was so angry with everything.
"You would rather die than go back with me?" He clicked his tongue as if he couldn't believe what I was saying to him.
"You have no conscience do you?" He remarked and I rolled my eyes at his reply.
He was the one with no conscience. Not only had he reminded me that I am nothing but an ungrateful Chile, but he also accused me of all his bad luck and he raised his voice on me.
He did a lot of things I would have ignored until yesterday when he crossed the line and so I cannot forgive him. No matter what I won't go back with him.
"After all we have been through? After what we have done together? You are one selfish bitch!" He spat and I slapped him again right across the same cheek I slapped earlier, not minding the consequences.
"Never..." I pointed my index finger.
"It is enough," I said firmly.
"You have been blaming me for all the bad things that have been happening since and what I am trying to tell you is that it is enough," I warned sternly.
"You were the one who came to me some days before my wedding, pleading that I came with you, and I did and this is what I get for it." A lone tear slipped down my cheek.
"I never for once blamed you or forced you to get my things. I never asked you to betray your family for you. You made me leave me...." I shook my head.
"No. I was that foolish to leave my family for you because I thought I'd be happier being with the man I loved than marrying a heartless billionaire but you are no different from the man that Adrian was to me and you are even worse," I expatiate, speaking one after the other so that I could get my message across to him.
"I never blamed you. I never accused you and I tried to be happy but you ruined it all. You get drunk, you come back and then you hurt me with your words and you come and apologize for the next at and you blame it on the alcohol and I would forgive you simply because I thought you were going through so much and I wanted to understand you but you crossed that line yesterday and so I won't be going back with you," I said firm and stern.
"All of this bullshit talk for me?" He scoffed.
"You are not only a selfish bitch but you are also ridiculous. It's a do-or-die affair with me Sarah and I promise you that you won't be able to leave me," he seethes, pulling me with him back to the direction of the house and I refused to move.
"Do not make me force you, Sarah. We are both going to suffer together because we already started this so come back with me and let's think of what to eat next!" He spat and I pulled my hands from his hold.
"I'm not going back with you and that's period," I clarified and attempted to run but he caught me and I struggled to push him away.
"Let me go bastard!" I spat.
"You will go back with me and that's the period. You can't escape me ingrate and it's not like you have money. You have nothing at all!" He spat.
He was pulling me and I was pushing for an escape.
"Let me go bastard!" I spat.
"No I won't and so you better make things easy for us or you will make me use the hard way for you. I won't be left alone. I have already lost enough and so I can't lose you. You promised you will be with me through thick and thin and so you can't just leave!" He declared and I laughed at his ridiculous words.
"You are insane mark and you need to see a psychiatrist!" I exclaimed.
I was looking around for people to come to my rescue because I was going to leave either alive or dead but if I died now, I'd hate myself for not being able to apologize to my parents and so I must escape.
"Stop making things hard and come with me," he carried me and put me on his shoulder and I hit him on his back while kicking my legs so that he won't be able to hold me still.
I bit him and he screamed in pain and the process he let me go. "Are you insane!" He spat angrily.
"Yes, I am!" I screamed and made an attempt to run again and he pulled me back.
He gripped me by my neck and I screamed.
"Let me go ba..." I was in pain.
"I always knew you were nothing but a stupid girl. Take a look at you being so unladylike," he chided and I laughed mentally.
Says the mad man.
I spat on his face.
"What did you just do!" He exclaimed and the next thing I know was him slapping him right across my face.
It hurts. I almost forgot where I was for a minute as everything suddenly became eerily quiet.
"You won't go back home. You won't see your parents and so you better don't dream of it," he said.
It felt as if everything was rotating around me but the minute he attempted to carry me and take me, I involuntarily kicked him where the sun doesn't shine.
He groaned in pain and I ran away, as fast as I can, refusing to turn back.
I was going to go back home and nobody was going to stop him.
