Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 85. DISTURBED

Ch. 85 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

A WEEK LATER

SOPHIA CASTILLO

Ever since I came back from Greece, I barely spend enough time with Adrian. The day I returned, he traveled the next day to Spain for a business trip.

We could barely talk on the phone because of the time difference. I have classes and so I can't speak to him because he is either busy and when I am free, he is sleeping. It doesn't seem right to me and worse Jessica went with him.

I get she is a shareholder in the company but why does she have to go with him. In her defense, she was touring around and to my knowledge, she is supposed to be looking for an apartment so she can move out.

"I am not insecure. I am not insecure and I am not insecure," I muttered to myself as Jessica's words resurfaced in my head.

The day she was traveling with Adrian, those were the words she told me in his absence. She told me I was just too insecure and I talk so confidently.

I wasn't and I know that. I just don't like the aura that oozed around her and I am not comfortable with her or maybe the reason I do not like her is because she doesn't like me and she looks down on me.

It's not as if Adrian would glance her way. I trust it when it comes to that but the problem now is me and my thoughts.

I need to shake those thoughts and focus on something else. I refused to let her get into my head. I miss Adrian so much that not being able to talk to him feels like we aren't on speaking terms with one another.

"Sophia, get up, and let's go get ice cream. I want one," Annabella said, getting up from her bed.

"I want pizza too and you are paying," I told her.

"Yes. I will. Come let's go already," she urged me.

I got up from the bed and followed behind her.

**********

"Can I get a sweet cream with a mixture of a pecan and brownie?" Annabella said to the lady.

"Sure," she replied.

"What do you want, Sophia?" Annabella asked.

I looked away from the couple and their son who was seated at a table, smiling and talking.

"Just get me the same," I told her before looking back at them.

They looked really cute and it felt good looking at them. I wasn't ready to be a mother but seeing that cute little girl, I imagined myself having a Minnie me or a Minnie Adrian, I was sure he'd be a very good father.

The man stroked her hair and she giggled.

"They are so lovely," I did not realize when I said that.

"Then make babies too," Annabella chuckled and I rolled my eyes at her.

"That is sarcastic," I replied.

"You do not want babies and you said you are not sure you would be having one until you are like twenty-seven and that's six years and eleven months to go," she said and I hit her on her arms lightly.

"That's far. I said I might change my mind but if I wasn't married, then by twenty-seven but I'm married and Adrian wants a child, I mean can I blame him. It's so nice watching those couples," I told her.

"What do you think?" I batted my eyes at her.

"What?" She asked frantically.

"Imagine Adrian and I have a baby? Wouldn't it be nice?" I asked.

"Of course, it would. People get married and make babies so that's..."

"You do not know how to reply to a question. It's fine, just end it," I told her.

"Here you go," the lady returned with our ice cream.

I took mine and Annabella took hers.

I pulled back a seat and sat down and she did too. I moaned when the ice cream melted on my tongue. It tasted nice.

"I could take this all day," I said moaning.

"I want to have six babies although it wasn't my intention," I chuckled.

"Six babies? Wow. That's a lot. So you are going to have six babies. I'm proud of you my friend," she said and I smiled at her.

"So if it wasn't your intention then whose intention was it?" She asked.

"Adrian. He loves babies and he said he wants six and I said we will have six babies," I told her.

"Aww. That is so nice. Have you been able to reach him?" She asked and I shook my head.

"It's either he is busy or he is sleeping, that's just it. I mean he could drop a text message for me and I'd reply whenever I see it. I miss him," I cried with some ice cream in my mouth.

"You will be fine. Trust me you will be," she said and at that moment my phone beeped.

My face lit up when I saw it was a text message from Adrian. I squealed mentally because I did not want anyone to look at me as if I was going crazy.

FROM THE LOML: Hi sweetheart. How have you been? I miss you so much.

My smile grew wider as I kept reading the message over and over again.

"I'm guessing that's from the love of your life right?" Annabella said stating the obvious and I nodded my head.

TO THE LOML: When will you be back? I'm sick.

Immediately, I got a reply back.

FROM THE LOML: Are you sick? Have you gone to the hospital?

I let out a small laugh when I realized that he has read my message wrongly. I was sick but not sick because I have a fever.

TO THE LOML: LOL. I'm not sick. I'm lovesick, that's it. I miss you so much. I'm happy to be speaking to you now.

FROM THE LOML: That's a relief then. I miss you too. I will be back tomorrow. I got to conclude everything as fast as I can. I miss you so much. Every part of you, especially the part of you with no clothes on.

I blushed reading his message. Although he was far away, he was still able to turn me on without having to do anything.

TO THE LOML: When you do come, we will get to see that favorite part of mine.

I heard Annabella clear her throat and I chuckled lightly.

"You have forgotten that I am here right? This is why I need a man in my life as soon as possible," she cried out as I rolled my eyes at her.

"You have a man. I mean there are five guys interested in you but sadly you are not interested in any," I told her.

"Ouch Sophia. You hit a vital spot," she feigned hurt while placing her palm on her chest and I chuckled.

FROM THE LOML: I will call you later. Jessica wants help with something.

A frown formed on my face when I read the name, Jessica.

TO THE LOML: Jessica? What help?

I got no reply and it made me anxious. I unconsciously began to tap on my feet.

"What's wrong?" Annabella asked and I sighed.

"It's a lot and I don't know if I'm just stressing myself by letting her words get to me or there's just something not right," I told her.

"What do you mean? What's happening Sophia?" Annabella asked.

"Jessica said I'm insecure and that's why I don't like her but the truth is that she doesn't like me and she constantly looks down on me and that's why I do not like her," I explained.

"Jessica again? She said you are just being insecure? About what?" She asked and I shrugged.

"In her terms," u made a quote in the air with my index and middle finger.

"I'm just insecure that..." I trailed off realizing that it doesn't make sense.

"She thinks I'm insecure about her friendship with Adrian. I mean why would I?" I scoffed.

"She thinks you are insecure about hr friendship? Why would she say that in the first place? It's not like you are both In competition and you are Adrian's wife. He'd choose you a million times before her. You aren't an option to him and as for her, she just reunited with him recently and she's..." She trailed off making me inquisitive.

"What?" I asked sounding very curious.

"Did you ask Adrian what his relationship with her in the past was like?" She asked.

"They were friends. She is two years older than him and they were friends," I replied.

"Yes. They could be friends. I mean they grew up with each other until their teenage where she left. Did you ask if there were feelings and they were close to dating one another or something? I mean she can't just come to you and say you are insecure about her friendship with Adrian. I'm just saying at the same time," Annabella expatiate.

Honestly, her words bothered me. Adrian said they were really good friends but he never talks more about it. Maybe there is nothing more to talk about.

Suddenly I remember the way they were talking about their teenage days at the dining table that day. She kept talking about how he snuck into her room at past eleven in the night and they laughed it off.

It wasn't anything. I mean even if they did have something, it was in the past and Adrian is my husband. I refuse to be affected.

"Whatever they might have was in the past and the last time they saw, he was fourteen and she was sixteen and that's it. If she is still holding on to something then she should go and burn in the bush because it's not my problem and it's not Adrian's problem," I said firmly and clearly feeling irritated just thinking of it.

"I am just saying but you could ask Adrian and don't let her words get into your head. I don't know this lady but I do not like him already," Annabella's said.

I finished eating my ice cream in silence but I would be lying if I said I wasn't bothered by the relationship Adrian has had with Jessica in the past. I mean she's the only one calling him Adri and he calls her Jessie but when he talks to me about her which is rare, he calls her by her full name.

I shook my head. I was just thinking too much. Adrian can't have anything to do. He doesn't and it's all in my head. I told myself.

All through the night, I was unable to sleep. I kept thinking about it. Adrian was yet to reply to me about what he went to help her with and I'd be lying if I said it didn't bother me even when I didn't want to.

I woke up the next day expecting a text from him and I got nothing. I wasn't happy and Annabella noticed that too.

She tried cheering me up but all I wanted to do was go back home because Adrian said he was coming back today.

I was going to confront him. I need to ask him to know what his relationship with Jessica was in the past or I doubt I'd be able to get over it.

I hate to bottle things up because it only makes me hurt.

I got to the mansion in the afternoon and walked straight into my room.

The door to my room opened after a while and I tilted my head to see who it was.

"Is something wrong Sophia?" Sarah asked and I shook my head.

"I know you, Sophia. What is it?" She asked me and I walked closer to her and hugged her.

I just hope I was worrying too much and there was nothing in the past between them because if there was, as much as I'd love to say it's all in the past, I doubt I'd be able to move on from it easily.
