Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 24. STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT

Ch. 24 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

SOPHIA CASTILLO

I thought I must have heard Adrian wrong. I got up from the bed perplexed. I must have heard him wrong, I said to myself.

Adrian had refused me to see my parents and he made it clear that he would never let me go see them as he suspected we were after him and his company but that same man had told me to go see them whenever I wanted and I should tell the drivers too.

I dashed out of the room to go look for him so that I could confirm if what I heard was right or if I was not hearing properly.

I was able to catch Adrian just before he drove off. I tapped on the car window for him to wound down.

He did. "What is it?" He asked.

"Are you serious about me going to see my parents? Are you joking about it or you are serious?" I asked him panting.

"If you have hearing problems, you should go see the doctor but if not, then ask yourself if you heard me well or if I wasn't too loud enough for you to hear," he replied.

He wound back the car window and drove off.

Adrian said I could go see my parents. Adrian permitted me to go see my parents! I jumped around in joy. It's been a long I felt this way before.

I hurried back to my room in happiness. I just couldn't wait to see my parents. I have missed them so much.

I missed being in the arms of my mother and my father. I am. Still surprised by Adrian's words. I couldn't believe he'd let me.

I found it suspicious but the good news was I can go see my parents and I won't be trading it for anything.

ADRIAN CASTILLO

"Fuck!" I cursed.

I have never been so sexually frustrated before. It took all I had in me to control myself from that evil woman and I couldn't believe I told her that she could go see her parents.

"Fuck!" I cursed.

She has won. She has managed to get me to go back on my words but I would never make that kind of mistake anymore. It would be the first and the last time I would very agree or go back on my words for her.

I took out my phone from my pants pocket and dialed my private investigator number.

He answered after a ring and I sighed.

"Mathew, from tomorrow henceforth, I want you to secretly trail Sophia. Make sure to get me images of everything she does and who she speaks with. I do not want any details missing, understood?" I said and he replied with a positive answer.

"Good," I said before ending the call.

I took in a deep breath and exhaled.

That moment my phone rang and I saw that it was a call from my grandfather. I could already tell why he was calling my line.

I was running out of time and I needed to come up with an excuse or I'd have to go on that honeymoon with Sophia and I do not want to the in the same space as her.

I do not know why my Grandfather trusts them but I know Mr. Brain would never accuse anyone without a reason so there must be something going on that I do not know about.

I would love to see if Sophia is innocent as she claims or if she is not.

I drove back to the mansion past midnight after a while of getting some fresh air.

"Sophia," I muttered.

She has been tormenting me a lot, giving me more reasons to doubt her. I never felt this way for her older sister Sarah and the more I thought about it, the more I wondered where her sister was.

I woke up the next day surprisingly earlier than I usually would and decided to jog. I barely slept yet I couldn't sleep.

When I closed my eyes, I was visited by some memories I have tried to bury for years but couldn't.

The death of my parents was still vivid in my head as if it all happened yesterday. My trust issue all started that night. It hurts so much.

When I came back from jogging, I went into the to go get water to drink. I was surprised to see Sophia in there in her pajamas.

I halted on my track and secretly watched what she was doing and why she was up by this time of the day.

The Sophia I know would be sleeping by this time.

She lit the gas and placed a pot on it. I do not know what she was cooking but it seemed she had all her ingredients ready.

The aroma of what she was cooking filled my nostril and I felt my stomach rumble. I never thought she could cook.

"SI..."

I quickly cut off the maid that was about to announce my presence and she kept her mouth shut immediately

"Go to her and distract her," I mouthed to her and she nodded her head.

"Good morning Sophia," I heard her call Sophia by her name and I wonder the kind of relationship they have for her to call Sophia by her name.

"Good morning Sarah," she replied and I furrowed my brows in confusion.

The maid goes by the same name as Sophia's older sister. I nodded my head in understanding as I realized that Sophia sees her as her big sister.

"What are you cooking today?" She asked.

I must be hearing wrong. Has Sophia always been cooking? I thought to myself.

"I decided to try an African dish this morning. It's called jollof rice," Sophia answered her.

"I expect nothing less from the chef herself," Sarah said.

"Thank you," Sophia replied.

"You seem to be in a good mood, mind sharing the news with me?" Sarah asked her.

"You will not believe what I am about to tell you. I cannot still believe it and I pray he doesn't wake up today and realize he just allowed me to go see my parents and forbid that I saw them," Sophia said.

I folded my arms across my chest and continued to listen to their conversation as I knew the topic was about me.

"Who?" Sarah asked.

"Adrian of course. He said I could go see my parents," Sophia answered.
