Married to the heartless Billionaire

Chapter 15MISTAKE

Ch. 15 / 114 Sep 17, 2024

SOPHIA CASTILLO

"I thought you were never going to come out," Adrian said to me the moment I stepped my foot out of my dressing room.

"I mean you have spent more than three hours in there only for you to come out and look like this?" He clicked his tongue while staring at me from head to toe.

I suddenly felt conscious and looked at myself.

Firstly, I did not spend three hours in the dressing room and it is all an exaggeration from Adrian and secondly, I do not look bad.

Alberto Castillo, Adrian's grandfather is the only one on Adrian's side that is nice to me.

From the moment I met him, he has been nothing but nice to me compared to Adrian who always looked for a means to make the moment tense.

"I'm sure you must realize how ugly you look right? I mean..." He trailed off clicking his tongue.

"You are going to see my grandfather yet you are dressed like this? Who are you trying to impress? I mean why do you think anyone would be impressed by your dressing?" His brows rose slightly and I stared at myself once again.

I would never understand Adrian.

I didn't look bad. I was dressed in a strapless off-shoulder bell sleeve romper with black gladiator heels.

I wanted to ask what was bad about my dressing but I did not have enough courage to do so and so I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat.

"Whatever, let's go already. We wasted enough time," he said glancing at his wristwatch.

I followed behind Adrian as he walked.

We settled down in the car and the driver drove us to our destination. Adrian's grandfather had requested we all have lunch together and later watch a movie.

He had everything all planned out. Alberto, Adrian's grandfather called me this morning to inform me because he believed Adrian might not tell me.

"Do not embarrass me today, make sure to behave," Adrian said as if he was talking to a small child, annoying me with the tone he used.

I said nothing in return and continued to follow him. We walked into the five-star restaurants located in the city.

Adrian's father was already seated waiting for us when we got in. He waved at us the moment we stepped into the restaurant and a smile formed on my face.

I felt happy seeing Alberto and eagerly, I walked further to meet him but as fate does it again, my shoulder bumped into the waiter that was about to walk past me and so I lost my balance and slipped but I did not fall as someone caught me.

A loud sound was made when the glass landed on the concrete floor.

"Are you okay miss?" The waiter who caught me said to me.

I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat before nodding my head. The waiter helped me to stand properly before I realized what had happened.

"I'm so sorry," I said to him, staring at the glasses of wine that fell on the floor when he decided to save me instead of them.

I hope it won't cost him his job or make him lose his money because most employers are very strict with their business.

"I hope this..."

"I will pay for the mess she created," Adrian cut me off.

He sounded pissed and irritated at the same time. My shoulder sagged when I realized that I have given him more reason to say mean words to me. It wasn't an intentional action on my part but to Adrian it was.

"Add it to my bill," Adriana added.

The waiter nodded his head before he turned his attention to me.

"I hope you are fine?" He asked.

"Y..."

"Of course she is. You may resume back to your work," Adrian interjected.

"Sophia darling, I hope you are fine?" Alberto said as soon as he came closer to us

"Of course she is. She wanted to make an entrance and ended up putting herself in this situation," he chastised.

"Do not say that Adrian," his grandfather scolded.

Adrian walked away from us and I cowered.

Alberto and I joined Adrian later.

"She is your wife, you should treat her nicely. I mean you are very ungentlemanly and that's bad. You are only going to make people have doubts about the Castillo men," Alberto said the moment he sat down.

"We are not proving anything to anyone and besides you asked me to marry her, not like I asked to marry her. I made you happy, didn't I?" Adrian countered.

"I asked you to get married but you refused to bring home a girl and so I decided to put things in my hand and help you out just like you said and you are not happy with it?" Alberto clicked his tongue.

"Sophia is your wife and the right thing to do is to treat her as one and show her love and care," Albert added.

"As if," Adrian muttered underneath his breath but I heard him.

They were both talking about me as if I wasn't present there. I have never felt more sad and angry than I was right now.

"You need to stop scolding her and making her feel bad. I mean take a look at her, she is a pretty young woman. Any man would want her to be their wife. She can cook too," Alberto continued.

If there was anything I noticed more about Alberto it was that he wouldn't stop talking until he proved his point.

"You should be glad you have her as your wife so you better start treating her right. You both make a lovely pair, be grateful I got you a good one," Albert adjusted his eyeglasses.

"What have we ordering? I am starved," Adrian said, dismissing the topic.

He seemed bored and I could tell from his voice.

Tonight is going to be a long night.
