My heart pounded in my chest as I looked around for a towel to wrap around myself.
After wrapping a towel around myself, I exhaled before folding my arms around my chest.
Adrian was still standing at the door, staring at me with a blank facial expression.
Could I blame him for not looking away or not apologizing for coming in without knocking or asking for my permission? I was so pissed at him but at the same time, I knew I couldn't be pissed. He is my husband but that doesn't give him the right to barge into the room without knocking.
"What do you want?" I asked.
I watch as he swallowed the lump in his throat while rubbing the back of his neck.
Did I just see Adrian nervous? I thought to myself but before I could decipher it was all gone.
Adrian cleared his throat. "I came to like you if you saw any files on the nightstand two nights ago?" He asked.
"Some files? Yes. I did take them from the nightstand. I kept them for you," I told him and he nodded his head.
"Where are they?" He asked me.
"They are in your room," I answered.
"Where is it in my room?" He questioned.
"Can you please leave so that I can wear my clothes and come get them for you?" I requested.
Adrian placed his hands on his waist while staring at me as if I had not requested that he left so that I could get changed.
Adrian began to walk closer to me. "Why should I leave for you to get dressed?" He asked with a blank look on his face.
I furrowed my brows. "Well..."
"What is it, Sophia?" He asked, walking dangerously close to me and my heart began to race faster than normal.
A smirk formed on his face. "It's funny you are asking me to leave when you are supposed to seduce me, isn't that what your true aim is?" He asked.
He put his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him and hiccuped.
Why would I think I had come just to seduce him? Why won't he just believe me when I tell him we have nothing planned against him. Why does he think I was sent to her on a mission to get him.
"Tell me, Sophia..." He pulled me impossibly closer to him and my eyes met his. I felt a jolt of electricity down my spine.
"Isn't this what you want?" His brows rose in a questioning manner and I gulped the lump that formed in my throat.
"Wh..what do you mean?" I stuttered.
"What do I mean?" He clicked his tongue before leaning closer to me.
"Are you asking exactly what I meant? Should I show you instead?" He whispered in my ears and I shuddered from his breath fanning my neck.
I gasped quietly when I felt his mouth on my neck. I simply forgot hose to breathe at that moment.
Adrian placed little kisses on my neck, surprising me with his action. What was he trying to do? I thought to myself.
The situation was familiar to the one that happened in the room that day and I was the one that got blamed instead.
I wanted to move but I forgot how to. My mouth opened in shock when he placed an open kiss on my neck.
I gripped his shirt tightly to hold myself. While my body kept saying I should move, his actions on me has a sweet effect that I love. My heart was pounding fast in my chest and an I felt a sweet feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Move Sophia! Move!
I screamed mentally. I had to walk away before things got heated and I am accused of proving his suspicion.
I gathered myself and pushed him off. Adrian had not seen that coming as he lost his balance and almost fell.
I got worried when I thought he'd fall and a surprising look formed on his face. He wasn't expecting me to push him but I was glad I did.
Why was my heart pounding this fast and why do I suddenly miss his closeness? I thought to myself.
"You cannot... touch me... inappropriately," I stuttered.
"Inappropriately?" He asked in a questioning tone.
"And how is that inappropriate? I am quite surprised that you pushed me. Shouldn't you be happy that I touched you? Isn't that what you wanted? What an actress you are," he clicked his tongue, moving closer to me.
"What... What do you mean?" I asked, trying to control my beating heart. I felt as if my body was on fire.
"You... You..." I stuttered.
What's wrong me with? Why is my heart beating so fast?
Adrian got closer again. He placed his arms around my waist and pulled me closer to him once again and my palm landed on his chest.
"Why are you acting so innocent Sophia? Do you not want this?" He asked staring into my eyes.
I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat again. It felt so hot in the room. My beset was beating and I was nervous too.
"You are wrong Adrian. I do not want anything from you and I do not plan on seducing you. All you think about my family is wrong. I have no interest in sleeping... With you," I stuttered and he let out a small laugh.
"Really? You do not want to sleep with me? Why did you marry me then?" He asked.
"I had to marry you because that was the only way to get your grandfather to help my father," I answered.
"Really? Are you sure there are no other reasons?" He asked me, tightening his hold on my waist.
He caressed my cheek with his thumb before holding my chin with his index and thumb finger.
He trailed his thumb on my lips and my mouth parted while my heart raced faster.
"Are you sure there are no other reasons?" He whispered.
