Molly
We've been sitting in the bank for almost an hour in the hope that the money will arrive sooner than the Two-hour guidelines but so far no luck. It wasn't easy to get it arranged to be here in two hours. It took a lot of work on this bank's end and an extra check from me.
I don't care about paying to have it brought here in fact, I offered them even more if they could get it here sooner but it just couldn't be done. Still, Tom and I agreed to wait here just in case we can catch a break and get it sooner. The quicker we get it to that bitch and the girls away from her the better.
Speaking of that bitch, Callum called me not so long ago but of course, my phone somehow was on silent. I called him back and couldn't believe what he told me about what she has done. Taking the girls to the farm and hiding with the horses... that shit is absolutely priceless.
Who in their right mind does that shit? She didn't do a great job of hiding them very well nor does it seem that she tried to hide from the girls where they are as Sophie has only gone and told Christian where they are. Her nosiness has come in handy for once that's for sure. I love that girl!
Time seems to drag, the minutes passing feel like hours and if Tom doesn't sit down or stand still soon I will be writing the bank another check so they can replace the carpet from where he has worn a hole in it.
Finally, after a very long and tense one hour and fifty-seven minutes the money arrives and I make quick work of getting everything signed. Before we leave I make sure that the order I put in earlier is all arranged and then Tom and I head for the exit.
Tom thinks I only ordered the remaining nine hundred and fifty thousand needed to make the one million for Amy but I've actually ordered the full one million as I don't trust Amy not to up the amount at the very last moment wanting to keep control over
Christian.
If she ups the price she can delay the process of her signing over her rights to Christian and I wouldn't put it passed her to do it even if it's just to be a bitch! How I would love to give her a taste of her own medicine but so would everyone else in Christian's family and I don't blame any one of them.
I almost run into the back of Tom when he stops abruptly in the doorway of the bank. "Oh, hi Tom!" A guy is standing in front of Tom giving him a strange cheeky smile. He's a frigging giant of a man. Tom is taller than me and this guy is taller than him. "Hey, Lucas. how have you been?" The air around these two seems a bit awkward but there's something else there too but I can't put my finger on it. They exchange a very brief chat before Tom tells him that we need to go but not before this Lucas guy makes him promise to call him. Hmm, yeah, there's definalty more going on there.
They say their goodbyes then we head outside and both breathe out a sigh of relief when we see Hunter waiting for us in Jack's truck. We head for him and both get in the front. Jack's truck can sit three people up front making things much easier.
"How are you here?" Tom asks as we both get comfy and buckle up ready to head to the farm. I place the bag with the money in between my legs while praying that she doesn't play any games... not today anyway because it's all the cash I have right now until the next order comes in.
"I stayed at the hall with your parents but just after your brothers left I realized that you wouldn't have a lift so I came to get you. I didn't have my truck on me but your dad had the keys to Jack's on him for some reason so he give me a ride to the farm for his truck and well, here I am."
"Thanks, Hunter, we both appreciate it," Tom answers while I nod agreeing with him. It's a long walk to the farm from here believe me I have already walked the distance once today and as much as I would walk it if I had to, I really don't want to, especially with all this money on me.
"Did you see the guys at the farm?" Tom asks as I stare out of the passenger window. "No, they were probably already up the barn. I wanted to get here as quickly as I could so that I could get back in case they need any help. Is that the money?" He asks pointing to the bag between my legs. "Yeah." He doesn't say anything but a strange look comes over his face but I ignore it.
He and Tom start up the small talk which I think is to keep themselves distracted more than anything else but I find I can't join in, I just Keep my focus on the window and watch everything that passes me by.
Well, I try to watch everything that passes me by but the truth is I hardly notice a dam thing. My mind is running through everything that has happened today from almost falling off the bridge to getting lifted off the ground by a Tornado while Christian shielded me with his body to me leaving the farm thinking that I wouldn't see any of them again and now here I am heading back to the farm with a bag full of money and ranging anger towards Amy that I'm not sure I'll be able to keep in check.
Christian
We make it back to the farm in record-breaking time. I've properly broken every single spreading rule and road code possible but I just don't care right now. I'm also pretty sure that I've run more than one red light on the way here but fuck it.
We quickly make our way along the long gravel driveway but instead of parking up there, I keep going cutting across the grass fields where the pigs usually are when they are outside until I'm in front of the storm barn where the animals are still being kept in. The entire farm needs work and rebuilding after the Tornado including the fields and animal pens so what is a couple of tire marks?
I jump out of the truck leaving it still running with my brothers right behind me. I hear the truck shut off but I haven't got a clue which one of them did it. The closer I get to the barn the more my heart picks up its pace, sweat is running down my face and my hands are sticky and clammy.
I put my hand on the door handle but instead of opening the door, I stop in my tracks hearing a bunch of curses behind me. I'm guessing my brothers almost bumped into each other not expecting me to slow now right now never mind stop altogether.
"Chris, what are you doing?" I can tell Jack is trying to sound calm but he's not, he's pissed. "Something's not right, Jack." He steps to my side looking confused that is until he looks at the barn door and then back to me with a look of realization. "She wouldn't, would she?" He's asking me that question like he doesn't know her.
I dont say anything instead I take in a deep breath and pull hard on the handle wishing for the best but dreading what I know the reality will be. We all step inside and the noise from the door slamming shut echoes across the barn causing loads of the animals to freak out.
The place goes from calm and quiet to loud banging and deafening noises in seconds. I ignore everything around me and head for the back of the barn, there's where we keep the horses and there's where Sophie said they were.
We make it to the door but again I once again suddenly freeze when it comes to opening it. The horses are in a completely different section to the other animals, it always works well but right now this door feels like it's the only thing between me and my girls or maybe even me, and a whole load of heartbreak.
Jack stands in front of me and pulls the large heavy-duty door open and I force my feet to move. I don't want to go in there because I already know that I'm not going to like whatever it is I see. We all step inside but all I can see are horses. Horses but not humans. Where are my girls? I start calling their names and soon my brothers join me but there's no answer. There's no answer because they aint here. Amy played me and she played me well. I wonder what she did to make Sophie tell me that on the phone. Whatever it is I already know that it's going to be enough to make me want to kill the bitch!
