Letting go

Chapter 48

Ch. 48 / 105 Feb 19, 2026

Molly

"One million dollars? Is she fucking serious? Please, for the love of god, tell me that your joking?" Jack's first to voice his opinion on the situation and I'm pretty sure that he's just saying exactly what we're all thinking. I know it's what I'm thinking along with the fact that all I want to do right now is to find Amy and end her.

"Do you think I would fucking joke about something like this?" Christian is pissed and rightly so. Fuck this Amy is something else. What the hell did he see in her to even date her never mind marry her and have children with her?

"Of course, not. I'm sorry I shouldn't have said that... I just... fuck!" Jack runs his hand through his hair while giving Christian a sad look. "I'm sorry brother, I know you didn't mean that. Fuck I just don't know what I'm going to do. There's no way I can get the $50,000 today never mind £1 million. Most of my money is tied up in the bar and house." He looks so lost and despite how I've been feeling about Christian, I would be pretty heartless not to feel sorry for him right now.

"I'm sure we could make the $50,000 between us but still..." Callum says. "There's no way we can get the one million... It's impossible. I'd do anything for it but we have to be realistic here." Christian's words are raw; when I look at him, I can see a broken man... a broken dad. I have to help him and those girls.

I take a step closer to Tom "Tom, tell him you have the money." The moment I finish talking his head jerks towards me. "What? but I don't Molly or I would... wait, I'm not the one with that kind of money... but you are. Are you going to give him the money?" I nod my head "But he doesn't need to know it's from me. You can say it's yours." I'm not sure how he would explain being a secret millionaire but it's better than them knowing that it's coming from me, especially after the way that Christian has behaved towards me lately when it's involved money.

In almost any other situation his stunned look would be highly amusing but right now there's no time for that. "Moll's I can't babe. I can't take the credit for something like that. Do you realize how much money we are talking about here?" I roll my eyes at his obvious question. "Of course I do but the girls are worth every penny. Christian having full custody of all three of those children is worth every penny." I mean every word and would empty my bank account for them if it came to it.

Don't get me wrong there's a massive part of me that doesn't want to give that bitch a cent but whenever I think that the girl's faces appear in my head and those faces outweigh any doubts that I could possibly have. He stares at me for a few seconds before taking my hand in his and giving it a gentle squeeze.

"Christian," He calls Christian but he's currently lost in his own world more than likely trying to figure out a way around this while his other brothers all talk among themselves. "Christian!" He shouts his name this time but still nothing. He takes a step toward Christian pulling me along with him, "Christian. can you hear me?" He gives him a gentle shake and thankfully it seems to bring him back to the present.

"Sorry, Tom, did you say something?"

"I've got the money." Tom's words aren't too loud but still all of his brothers seem to hear him as they stop talking and all turn their attention to him. "You've got the money... to get the... the girls back?" Christian stutters his words while looking seriously confused. "Yes, brother I have the money."

"You have $50,000, Tom?" Jack's the next one to start stuttering and again I find myself thinking about how highly amusing this would be if it was any other situation. "Yes, I have the $50,000." Christian takes a step closer to Tom but before he can stay anything Tom keeps talking. "I don't just have the $50,000, Chris... I have the one million also."

I dont think he believes Tom's words as he takes a step back looking like he's going to pass out at any moment. He staggers a little bit before Zack steps out behind him and grabs hold of him. "What are you talking about, Tom?"Callum seems to be the only one who can string a sentence together at the moment. "Just what I said. I have the one million dollars that Amy wants and if she's going to sign all three children over to Christian in exchange for that money then I'm more than happy to hand it over."

"I... I don't... how, Tom? How do you have that kind of money hanging around?" Christian manages to get himself back together enough to start speaking. "Does it even matter? I've got the money so let's get your children back brother!" Christian nods and takes a couple of deep breaths while he removes his phone from his pocket and after fiddling with it a little he raises it to his ear looking completely blown away.

"Amy. I've got your money."

"Yes, the full one million."

"No, it doesn't work like that. You will bring me my girls today and you will get the $50,000. Once I have my girls with me I will contact my solicitor to get the paperwork together then once you have signed all of my children over to me and it's official you will get the remaining money."

"That's how it's going to be Amy, take it or leave it!" I'm glad he's doing it this way because we all know that if Amy gets her hands on the full amount of money today then we won't see her again. She definitely won't stick around to sign the papers. This way she gets a load of money straight away and becomes a millionaire once she's officially given her children away. He ends the call after arranging where and when to get the girls back before looking back toward Tom and me.

"How the fuck can a mother be so willing to just give her children away? How can a mother sell her children?" The words leave my mouth before I can stop them but I don't regret them. I'm so fucking angry with that twat. "By her doing this she's actually doing the best thing possible for those children. They will be better of with Christian and our family and Katie won't get shipped off to some random care home." Callum is right but I still want to seriously hurt Amy.

"She had better be looking after those girls. If either of them come back with even a scratch, I'm going to gut the bitch!" Tom's words and sas are too much and cause more than one of us to chuckle. "Tom, are you really sure about this brother?" Christian is still in shock and I get it but it's nice to see his genuine side. He may be a giant twat waffle more often than not towards me but without a doubt he is the best dad, he loves those kids more than anything and I know that he'd do anything for them and he will give them the best life.

"Absolutely! I'd give her every cent of mine if it meant getting those girls back. We all would." Christian looks around at all of his brothers as they all nod their heads agreeing with, Tom. I think they need a moment so I take a step back as they all huddle into a giant huddle. Seeing the love that they all have for each other brings a massive smile to my face and makes me once again wish that I could have had a family like this.

I got to turn around so that I can give them a moment when an arm reaches out from the huddle and pulls me in between them. I look up to see that Christian is the one who pulled me back and I try to hide my shock as he gives me a gentle smile. "your part of this family too, Molly so get in here." Jack has a cheeky grin on his face and that along with his words makes me smile.

After a few minutes, we all pull apart. "So what's the plan? Where and what time are you meeting her?" Tom asks. "As soon as I've got the money. She's not interested in keeping the girls any longer than necessary." Christian seems both pissed and relieved and I get it. "That's good for us though," Zack says looking much more relaxed than earlier.

"It is." Christian lets out a long breath "So Tom when do you think you could get the money? She's only getting the $50,000 today."

"I'll go to the bank straight away but I'm not sure how long it will take. Keep your phone on you and I'll call you once I know." Christian nods as Tom turns to face me. "You coming, Molls?"

"Yeah, sure." I start following him to the door, and just before we leave he shouts over his shoulder. "Better call of the search parties!" I hadn't thought about that and I bet they hadn't either we're all too engrossed in Amy and her fucking sick sick life.
