Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 75

Ch. 75 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Vanya's POV

I pulled Wilmot away.

Wilmot looked reluctant, casting vicious glances back at Melinda and the others.

"Why are we leaving?" Wilmot asked, puzzled.

I responded, "Arguing with them here is pointless, and I can't make a scene. If Veronica, Cliff's grandmother, finds out I'm attending Wolfe, I'll be in deep trouble."

"What about your reputation? Are you just going to ignore it?" Wilmot questioned, concerned.

I found his concern amusing and said, "Wilmot, in this school, who among those with family backgrounds doesn't know that I am Cliff's wife? Who doesn't know that I am the eldest daughter of the Dalton family? Why bother arguing with ordinary students who don't know any better?"

Wilmot pondered my words and then realized it.

Indeed, those people in the cafeteria, no matter how hard they worked their entire lives, might never reach our current status.

Arguing with them was a waste of our time.

The rumors were so crude that the truth would eventually come to light, and the person spreading them would suffer the consequences.

For me, there would be no harm at all.

Third Person's POV

Meanwhile, in the cafeteria, Raven was still shaken, her back drenched in cold sweat from the aftermath of fear.

"Melinda, did I... did I anger Wilmot? Will Wilmot send someone after me?" she asked anxiously.

There were many rumors about Wilmot circulating in Los Angeles, saying that he was a reckless and capricious playboy who would stop at nothing.

No one who had provoked him had been seen unscathed the next day.

"Don't be afraid, Raven. Wilmot won't do anything to you. After all, you're a girl, and this whole thing was for my sake..."

Melinda tried to sound calm, but her eyes couldn't help but dodge.

She lowered her head, her hands wringing the corners of her clothes, feigning guilt as she said, "I'm sorry, Raven. It's all because of me..."

Fawn chimed in to comfort, "Melinda, it's not your fault. Vanya is just too cunning! She even hooked up with Wilmot now!"

While speaking, Fawn was pondering internally.

She felt that today's events were suspicious, and Melinda's reaction was too unusual.

From the moment Vanya appeared in the cafeteria, Melinda had been particularly nervous and kept defending the woman, which was not like her usual behavior.

Could there be some secret between Melinda and Vanya?

The more Fawn thought about it, the more suspicious she felt. She decided to wait and see how things would unfold.

Raven suddenly seemed to think of something and asked with a puzzled look, "But what did that woman mean by being used as a pawn?"

Upon hearing this, Melinda reacted as if she had been touched on a raw nerve.

Her body jolted, her eyes widened, and she tried to defend herself, "Perhaps she's just trying to confuse us. Who knows what she's thinking? Let's not think about it anymore."

Her speech was rapid, her voice trembling, as she tried to cover up her guilt.

Hearing Melinda's words, Raven managed to suppress her doubts.

But Fawn, on the other hand, saw through the facade. Unlike Raven, she didn't take Melinda's words at face value.

Instead, she sensed something was amiss from Melinda's reaction just now.

"Let's continue our plan to follow her tonight," Fawn said abruptly, wanting to test Melinda's response.

"Yes! Follow her! I must get some solid evidence to show Wilmot Vanya is not a good person!"

Melinda's face turned pale instantly, and her lips trembled.

She had thought that after what happened earlier, Fawn and Raven had no intention of continuing.

She didn't expect Fawn to propose following Vanya even now.

"Melinda, you will join us, right?" Fawn looked at Melinda probingly, her eyes fixed on her expression.

Melinda forced a smile that was worse than crying, with fine beads of sweat appearing on her forehead.

She swallowed hard and said, "Of course, I promised you. I will definitely go with you."

Seeing the unnatural smile on Melinda's face, Fawn's suspicions were confirmed.

Melinda was lying, but she didn't know what exactly Melinda had lied about.

As the sky gradually darkened, Raven followed Vanya stealthily, with Fawn and Melinda closely trailing behind.

Melinda was nervous, fearing that Cliff might pick up Vanya today.

Her eyes kept looking around, her hands tightly clenched together, her palms full of sweat.
