Vania's POV
I pretended to be reasonable, and Veronica's anger subsided a little.
As Cliff's grandmother, how could she not know what kind of personality her grandson had?
It is absolutely impossible for me to make my grandson apologize. Just now, he was just putting on a show in front of me to calm me down.
Veronica patted my hand and said, "Good child, I will take care of disciplining him in the future. Grandma guarantees that woman will never enter our Silver Moon Wolf Pack again. Luna, the Silver Moon Wolf Pack, will only have you."
I just smiled faintly.
Kneeling on the ground, Cliff looked at me with a hint of indifference in his eyes.
The sky had already turned dark when Veronica called for the doctor and left, still calling Beta Elliott.
I sat on the sofa, drinking coffee methodically. Cliff stood up from the ground, his voice tinged with a hint of disgust, "Vania, have you had enough of pretending?"
I didn't speak.
Cliff said again, "You bring up each other's rejections and even managed to drive away Melinda with your tricks. You are really cunning, I underestimated you in the past!"
"Think whatever you want."
I didn't care about Cliff's thoughts in the first place. I stood up and the doctor outside the door had already arrived.
I said to the doctor, "You can make it a bit stronger when you give me the medicine later. Alpha Cleve is not afraid of pain."
The doctor lowered his head anxiously and glanced at Cliff from the corner of his eye, only to see Cliff's face darkened.
Over the next few days, Cliff was banned by Veronica from leaving the Packhouse of the Silver Moon Wolf Pack.
The other members of the wolf pack dared not speak, after all, Veronica held a significant position in the Silver Moon wolf pack, and all official matters had to be moved to the Silver Moon wolf pack's Packhouse for handling.
I knew that this was Veronica giving us two opportunities.
On the third day, Cliff finally couldn't bear it anymore and pushed open my door.
I was sitting on the edge of the bed, watching the stock market, when Cliff came in and then the screen of the stock market was cut off.
"Is there something wrong?"
These days, Cliff has been unable to go out, so he doesn't know about Melinda's recent situation.
Seeing Cliff like this, he must have been worried about Melinda's condition, so he couldn't help but speak to me.
"Vania, if you didn't want Grandma to know about the fact that you didn't want to go to the Wolf International Financial School, you should have immediately let Grandma let me go."
"Cliff, you said that in a strange way. It was the old lady who didn't let you go out, what ability do I have to make Grandma let you go?"
"Don't play dumb here!" Cliff narrowed his eyes slightly, looking at me with anger.
I had also been getting extremely bored staying at home for the past three days, just waiting for Cliff to finally speak up.
"Don't threaten me with the fact that you took me to study at Wulf International School of Finance. Worst case scenario, we just reject each other, and no one benefits."
I was not worried at all that Cliff would betray Veronica. He had to keep this secret well, at least until he gained enough benefits from the Dalton family.
Cliff indeed suppressed his anger and asked, "What do you want to do?"
"Make a deal, I'll speak well of you in front of Grandma, but you also have to cooperate with me in acting."
"Act with you?" Cliff glanced at me skeptically, "Is it that simple?"
"In front of others, you had to be a perfect and qualified husband, always going along with me. You had to give me face in front of the Dalton family, stand up for me at the right time, and be my support. This deal was just a piece of cake for you, and you didn't lose anything at all."
I won't beat around the bush either, I still need Cliff's help to act in the Dalton family.
But after Veronica caused such a fuss a few days ago, Cliff's attitude towards me worsened, let alone supporting me in acting together in the future.
After a moment of contemplation, Cliff spoke up and said, "Alright, I promise you."
"Okay." I put down the tablet in my hand, stood up and brushed off my skirt, saying, "Let's invite Luna over for dinner at our place, I'll cook myself."
Cliff furrowed his brow and asked, "What do you want to do?"
"Of course, it was about showing a loving couple appearance in front of old Luna, to reassure her and let her allow you to go out."
Cliff sneered, "So, you had already planned it."
He had a look on his face as if he had planned everything in advance.
But I couldn't be bothered with Cliff.
In the afternoon, Veronica was brought over by Beta Elliott. I was busy cooking in the kitchen.
Cliff was helping out on the side, and the two of us looked like a newlywed couple.
Seeing this scene, Veronica nodded in satisfaction.
When everyone was seated, Cliff considerately helped me with serving the food and occasionally exchanged a few jokes with me.
Veronica finally let go completely.
"Luna, I want to go shopping tomorrow. Can you let Cliff accompany me?" Veronica was extremely happy when she heard me say this. She couldn't ask for anything better.
"Of course, let Cliff accompany you to go shopping. It's quite boring to stay at home all the time," Veronica's words relieved Cliff's confinement.
