Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 68

Ch. 68 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Vanya's POV

I furrowed my brows, my eyes still shut, and grumbled with impatience, "In the middle of the night, why are you bothering me while I'm sleeping?"

"Get up."

Cliff's voice was filled with uncontrollable anger. His tone was like a sharp blade that sliced through the tranquility of the night.

His fiery demeanor made my drowsiness vanish in an instant, and I was also getting angry. I sat up from the bed.

My eyes stared straight at Cliff standing by the door, and I loudly questioned, "Alpha Cliff, have you lost your mind?"

Suddenly, Cliff rushed towards me like a fierce gust of wind.

I was startled, and before I could recover, the next moment, I was pressed heavily onto the bed by him.

The dim light from the door fell on his body, the interplay of light and shadow making the atmosphere subtly and ambiguously tense.

My breath instantly halted, and my heart seemed to be grabbed by something, missing a beat.

But I quickly forced myself to calm down and questioned, "What do you want to do?"

"Where were you tonight?" His voice was deep and cold, as if coming from the endless dark abyss.

"I was having dinner with friends," I responded without backing down.

"Which friends?" He pressed on, his gaze seeming to pierce through my soul, trying to unearth all the secrets in my heart.

My brows furrowed even more, and an inexplicable sense of annoyance and resistance welled up in my heart.

I said, "I don't think I'm obligated to tell you, do I? Remember? We're just using each other, taking what we need."

"Is that so?" He suddenly sneered, the laughter mixed with a hint of mockery and disdain, causing a hint of unease to rise in my heart.

Before I had time to think of a strategy to deal with him, Cliff suddenly tore open my nightgown.

His eyes burned with an intense flame I couldn't understand, and he said, "Legally, you are my wife. Shouldn't you fulfill your duties as a wife?"

"Cliff! You son of a b*tch!" I screamed in anger, my heart filled with humiliation and fear.

His strength was immense, and I struggled and resisted desperately, seeing him about to tear my clothes completely off.

I could bear it no longer and slapped him with all my might.

"Snap!" A crisp and loud slap rang out in the room.

Then, the room was enveloped in a deathly silence.

I stared at him, my voice trembling with anger, "Alpha Cliff, I am not your plaything!"

Cliff's body, pressing on mine, instantly stiffened. I could clearly feel his chest heaving violently because of his actions.

The rhythm of the heaving seemed to churn with the turbulent emotions within him.

"Get out!" I pointed straight to the door.

Cliff seemed to regain some sanity. He slowly got up and left my room without a word.

The moment the door was closed, I heard him cough lightly outside.

I lay on the bed, letting out a long breath with lingering fear, thinking to myself that he must have gone mad to do such insane things.

After a while, I heard faint footsteps outside the door, followed by the sound of Cliff's hand on the doorknob.

I held my breath, silently praying that he wouldn't come in.

After an agonizing moment of hesitation, he ultimately didn't push the door open.

And after making sure he had left, I quickly got up and silently locked the door, as if only by doing so could I completely shut out the terrifying scene from just now.

I was clear that today's events had obviously enraged Cliff.

I must be more cautious around him from now on. Otherwise, more terrible things might happen.

The next day at dawn, Jenny, who usually should have come to wake me up, was nowhere to be found.

I went downstairs full of doubts, calling out, "Jenny? Jenny?"

After several calls with no response, I noticed Cliff sitting on the sofa.

He was dressed in a simple and efficient white shirt, elegantly sipping coffee, his expression distant, as if nothing had happened last night.

His nonchalant demeanor made my anger flare up again.

"Where's Jenny?" I asked.

"I gave her a day off," Cliff responded, his tone as calm as a still lake.

I continued to press, "So, what am I supposed to eat in the morning?"

Cliff looked up, a hint of teasing in his eyes, and said, "Can't you cook for yourself?"

Hearing this, I cursed to myself, "What a weirdo!"

I was sure he was deliberately making things difficult for me because of last night, trying to embarrass me in front of him.

I went straight to the kitchen, opened the fridge, and took out the eggs and bread inside.
