Vania's POV
Derek asked, "How long do you think these projects will take to break even?"
"Two years."
"Two years will be enough?" Derek looked at me with a skeptical expression on his face.
I knew that ever since the first time I bought that piece of land, Derek had been doubting my taste.
Later, that piece of land exploded, and he still felt that it was just my good luck.
Theodore looked at me with a calm and composed expression, simply giving a faint smile.
It's not that he didn't believe me, but no matter what decision I made, he had the ability to bear the consequences.
So he didn't care whether these investments made money or lost money.
After dinner, Grace had an urgent matter to attend to at the company, so Derek and Theodore left together.
I finally received Veronica's phone call as well.
Veronica asked Beta Elliott to drive over and pick me up, so I got in the car.
Just as Beta Elliott got on the car, he couldn't help but say, "Luna, could you please say something nice to Alpha Cliff later, they won't reject each other."
I closed my eyes and asked, "When did Luna go home?"
"Afternoon."
Just as I had guessed. Veronica must have gone in the afternoon, causing a commotion until now. They only called me back after the situation had calmed down.
Veronica always did things in her own way and did not allow any disobedience.
By this time, Melinda had already been taken away by Veronica.
The car stopped outside the Packhouse gate of the Silver Moon wolf pack, and the gate was wide open. I walked in.
Jenny stood respectfully on the side, while Veronica sat on the sofa.
I finally saw Cliff kneeling on the ground, there was no trace of Melinda inside the house.
Veronica said coldly, "Is everything packed up?"
"All packed up, Luna," Jenny said as she pushed out a suitcase. "These are all Miss Coleman's belongings."
Veronica asked, "Elliott, how much of this was bought with Clive's money?"
Beta Elliott cautiously stepped forward and said, "Miss Coleman's living expenses were always covered by Alpha Cliff, so..."
Veronica sneered, "So you're saying all of these were bought for her by my grandson?"
Beta Elliott did not dare to speak.
Veronica said to Jenny, "Throw it all away! Tell the principal that from today on, our family has no connection with the Colemans. Since she is already an adult, she doesn't need our help."
"Grandma!"
Cliff frowned and said, "Melinda is just a girl from a poor family. How could she possibly earn enough money to pay for the tuition at Wolf International Financial School?"
"She studied finance, if she doesn't even have this ability, it's a waste to spend so many years nurturing her!"
Veronica said coldly, "Moreover, hasn't the Todd family invested a lot of money in her over the years since you started helping her? If she can't be of any value in the future, the Todd family won't support an idle person."
After speaking, Veronica looked at me, her expression softened a bit. "Vanessa, come over and sit here with Grandma."
I slightly lowered my head and sat beside Veronica.
Veronica patted my hand and said, "Grandma knows you were wronged this time, but rejecting each other is a big deal. For the sake of our relationship as two wolf packs, we shouldn't casually say that we reject each other. Today, I will have Cliff apologize to you on behalf of me. Grandma promises that this kind of thing will never happen again in the future."
I glanced at Cliff out of the corner of my eye, and Cliff didn't look like he had any intention of apologizing.
I said slowly, "Grandma, you can't force feelings. Since Cliff likes Melinda, maybe rejecting each other is the best choice for both of us."
"Nonsense, how could our Todd family possibly marry a rogue as Luna?"
After speaking, Veronica glared at Cliff and said, "Why don't you come over and apologize to Vania right away?"
Cliff furrowed his brow and remained silent.
I sighed and said, "Grandma, don't make it difficult for Cliff. Since he doesn't want to apologize, let it go."
Upon hearing this, Veronica became even angrier. This time, she directly picked up a stick from the table and struck Cliff with it. The Todd family rules were always strict, and Cliff was raised by Veronica herself, so at this moment, he didn't even dare to hide.
Veronica exerted full force and within a few moments, Cliff's body was covered in bruises. I watched coldly as Cliff clenched his teeth tightly, refusing to utter a single word of pain.
In the end, Veronica broke the stick in her hand and coldly said, "Apologize or not?"
Cliff still did not speak.
I knew Cliff's personality, it had reached to such an extent that he didn't even want to speak up, that means he didn't want to apologize.
I said, "Grandma, don't be angry either. Actually, I don't blame Cliff either. He's already like this, so let's quickly call the doctor to come and take a look."
