Contract With Alpha Theodore

Chapter 50

Ch. 50 / 220 Apr 30, 2026

Vanya's POV

"Sure, where are we going?"

I changed my mind, intending to find out what she wanted after going to such lengths to meet me.

"I'll take you there." Beata warmly took my hand, acting overly familiar.

In this graduate class, everyone came from high society, and interpersonal relationships were complicated.

Since joining this class, I quietly investigated everyone, and others must also probe into each other's backgrounds.

Beata led me to a car, and we soon arrived at a nightclub nearby.

She took me out of the car, and upon entering the nightclub, I found that someone had already booked a private room.

Compared to the noisy environment outside, the private room was slightly quieter.

As soon as the door to the room opened, I saw Wilmot sitting on the sofa.

Dressed in punk attire, his eyes were cold and sharp, and his naturally fierce appearance revealed a strong, wild aura.

When I saw the car behind Beata, I guessed it was Wilmot who wanted to see me.

As expected, Beata conveniently left, leaving only Wilmot and me in the room.

"Wilmot, there's no need to meet me in a place like this, is there?" I turned, intending to leave, only to find the door to the private room had been closed.

However, I wasn't scared. As Cliff's wife, I knew Wilmot wouldn't dare to do anything to me, which was the confidence that allowed me to come here alone.

"Here, it's safe. Nobody will notice." Wilmot's deep voice echoed in the room.

"The second son of the Hammond family meeting Cliff's wife late at night, if this news were to be exposed, it would be a scandal for both families."

I shrugged nonchalantly and said with a hint of teasing, "Anyway, I'm already notorious. It doesn't matter if my reputation gets worse. But if Edwin found out about this, would he skin you alive?"

I was well aware that Edwin valued the family's reputation highly, which was Wilmot's weakness.

Wilmot's eyes narrowed as he strode towards me.

His tall and broad figure instantly cast a shadow over me, and he got even closer, so close that I could clearly feel the aura emanating from him.

"No one can play me, and you are the first." His voice was deep and magnetic, yet the words carried an indescribable ambiguity.

I raised my eyebrows slightly and responded with feigned confusion, "You can't say that. When have I ever played you?"

"From the first time we met, you were deliberate, weren't you?" He stared intently into my eyes, as if trying to see through me.

"I really haven't," I couldn't help teasing him, "Wilmot, do you have a persecution complex?"

"You're not fooling me. I can spot a liar a mile away," Wilmot let out a cold laugh, "But I really didn't expect that you would be Cliff's wife."

I put away my smile and said seriously, "The fact that I am Cliff's wife is known throughout Los Angeles. Perhaps only you are unaware."

Wilmot's POV

I frowned, a wave of displeasure rising in my heart.

I had only recently returned from Europe and was not well-versed in the happenings of the past year in the States.

Moreover, I had never been interested in the socialite circle, so the name Vanya meant nothing to me.

"Alright, Wilmot, stop your fantasies. I have no schemes against you. Even if there were any, they should be directed at your brother, Edwin."

Her words clearly reached my ears, the casual tone like a sharp blade, easily piercing my pride.

In everyone's eyes, the Hammond family only had Edwin wielding absolute power, and I was just a wastrel relying on my brother.

"Stop!" I instinctively reached out and tightly held her wrist. My anger instantly ignited.

Her words so easily provoked my rage.

"Are you saying I'm not as good as Edwin?" I glared at her, my voice trembling with a hint of agitation, surprising even myself.

"What do you think?" Her calm gaze made me feel even more furious.

I knew she was right, but I was unwilling to admit it.

Suddenly, I laughed, "Cliff and my family have always been at odds. If I did something to you today, would you still be able to be Mrs. Todd?"

Seeing the smile on her face gradually disappear, I felt a great sense of pleasure, as if this could prove my strength.

However, the next second, she laughed again, her smile particularly glaring in my eyes, "I didn't expect you to be so childish."

"What did you say?" I frowned again. My anger ignited once more.

"If you really dared to touch me, would you have secretly arranged to meet me like this?" She gently pushed away my hand and strolled casually around the room, her composed demeanor making me even more annoyed.
